I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Chapter 118: Chapter 112: Loans and Celebration

Just now, purchasing the skill cost 4 gold coins and 65 copper coins.

With the cash on hand, it comes to 9 gold coins and 70 silver coins.

Selling all other odds and ends, at most it totals to 19 gold coins and 20 silver coins.

There’s still a distance to 25 gold coins.

He hesitated for a moment, brewing a euphemistic refusal in his mind.

”If you currently have difficulty with cash flow, there is a way here that can provide you with temporary funding.”

Before he could speak, the sales assistant bowed with a smile.

”What way?”

If possible, Gauss certainly wanted to acquire a Storage Pouch soon.

This thing is indeed convenient.

”According to Guild regulations, a bronze-level adventurer can apply for an interest-free career development loan based on the ’New Professional Protection Regulations.’”

”The maximum credit limit is twenty gold coins, with a repayment period of six months.”

Is there really such a good thing?

Gauss pondered for a moment.

Twenty gold coins, an interest-free loan, repaid within six months.

He didn’t think that with his earning speed, he wouldn’t be able to repay such an amount in six months.

It’s just that this amount has a tiny bit of coincidence.

Twenty gold coins, plus the five gold coins previously distributed for free, is exactly the price of a Storage Pouch.

After thinking for a moment, he nodded.

”Then please, how do I apply specifically?”

”Please follow me.”

The sales assistant led Gauss away from the store, heading towards the service hall.

With her help and explanations, Gauss smoothly completed a career development loan application in the service hall.

Submitting his Identity Badge, Gauss unfurled a parchment with gilt patterns on the peach wood counter, read the text on it, then signed his name in a blank space at the end.

But this parchment wasn’t some advanced existence like a Magic Contract; it was just an ordinary piece of paper, with nothing special about it.

The real key was that after Gauss submitted his Identity Badge, the service staff submitted a loan application record through the badge to the headquarters.

And this information would be synchronized across all adventurer branch offices, which means that if there’s a default, taking on tasks elsewhere would become difficult.

After a brief process, Gauss successfully received 20 gold coins.

Took out 5 more gold coins from the pouch to make up enough money.

Gauss selected the newest looking Storage Pouch, and tried it out simply.

Magic Power seeped into it.

A magical space far larger than its appearance suddenly unfolded in his Perception.

Magic Power flowed freely within it like a stream, and the Storage Pouch seemed to respond to him, absorbing some of his Magic Power.

A moment later, a subtle connection was quietly established between the two.

Is this my storage space?

He took out books from his bag, attempting to store the ”Adventurer’s Guide” in it.

With a slight thought.

The next moment, as the thought ”store it” flashed through his mind, a ripple-like wave of Magic Power echoed in the bag, and the ”Adventurer’s Guide” vanished from sight.

Focusing again, his perspective subtly became the scene inside the bag, with the disappeared book quietly lying in the Storage Pouch’s space.

Take out!

Instantly, the book reappeared in his hand.

It’s pretty flexible to operate, even for the first time using it, there’s no complicated methods.

Gauss felt he had fully familiarized himself with the Storage Pouch’s operation.

Then he stored all personal belongings into the Storage Pouch.

Gauss stretched his body, feeling refreshed and light.

A carrying weight of more than two hundred kilograms was enough for him for now.

Next, Gauss toured briefly in other shops on the second floor.

As the golden sunset flowed down to soak the hall.

Gauss, facing the envious gazes of numerous adventurers in the hall, leisurely walked down the stairs back to the first floor hall.

”Looks so young, is he even twenty?”

”Is he already a Professional?”

”Seems like I haven’t seen him before......”

”When will I be like him.......”

”Heard you can buy lots of magical Magic Items on the second floor...”

”....”

These discussions drifted into his ears along with the evening breeze.

Gauss remained expressionless on the surface, but a trace of irrepressible joy arose quietly in his heart.

Perhaps in the future, he would become accustomed to it, but at least at this moment, as a newly advanced bronze adventurer, he could not entirely resist the satisfaction brought by being admired by others.

Becoming a bronze-level adventurer, the feeling was indeed good.

...

In the inn.

”Why are we going out to eat out of the blue?” Sofia put down the soft cloth she was using to wipe the counter, with a hint of confusion in her eyes, but still began to pack her small bag in compliance.

Gauss, back from yesterday’s task, mysteriously told her that they were going out to celebrate today.

Unable to resist, she could only ask the girl next door to help watch the counter in advance.

So now she was able to pull herself away.

”Winnie, I’ll leave the shop to you.”

”Go ahead, Sister Sofia.”

Winnie watched Sofia move her steps to follow Gauss, thinking of something, her face suddenly flushed with a rosy tint.

”Today shouldn’t be your birthday either, right?” Sofia caught up with Gauss; the two walked slowly along the street.

”Ahem.”

Gauss cleared his throat.

”It’s not a birthday, but indeed there’s something worth celebrating.”

Sofia looked up slightly, glancing at the young man’s face.

The shop lights along the street cast a halo through the window frames, softly outlining his profile.

His typically calm eyebrows and eyes seemed infected by some internal emotion, relaxed and bright.
