I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Chapter 84: Chapter 82: Entering the Dungeon

But until now, with the exact map, he realized it was far more complex than he had previously thought.

The dungeon was not a single space; hidden enemies or traps might lurk in small rooms connected by a complex network, and it seemed like it would take some time to explore.

After once again checking their equipment and weapons, they entered the dungeon’s passage one after another.

Gauss walked in the middle of the team.

After communicating with his teammates, he cast a Light Spell on the shield of the Half-Beastman Warrior Sok.

The Light Spell didn’t consume any bit of his Magic Power.

This was because the White Bone Staff had a peculiar affinity with the Light Spell, allowing him to store the effect of the Light Spell five times in advance.

As for other magic, he tried it once, but unfortunately, it didn’t work.

”Thanks.”

After casting the Light Spell, the passage instantly brightened up.

The pure white light released from the Light Spell on Sok’s shield seemed to have a calming magical power, even suppressing the eerie atmosphere of the surrounding dark areas.

Lawrence turned to glance at Gauss.

For some reason, walking in the light from Gauss’s Light Spell, he felt slightly uncomfortable.

He had encountered Light Spells before; the Light Spell was considered a rather common Trick, but he never had an experience like this before.

He felt that Gauss’s Light Spell seemed different from those cast by other Caster Apprentices.

However, as they were in the midst of an adventure, he couldn’t inquire and could only temporarily press his confusion in his heart.

”Be careful, don’t step on this tile, there’s a pressure plate inside linked to a trap next to it.”

As they descended, Edith occasionally reminded the team members to be aware of some traps.

Everyone also cautiously avoided them.

They continued silently descending.

Gauss estimated they had walked over a hundred meters, with a straight depth from the surface of about thirty to forty meters, before they finally reached the end of the descending staircase.

What appeared before them was a space resembling an entrance hall.

It wasn’t very large, about twenty square meters, with overhead walls just over two meters high, slightly cramped and oppressive.

”Click, click, click!”

Perhaps the effect of the Light Spell was too pronounced.

A few skeletons that were originally scattered on the ground slowly stood up, continuously letting out hoarse roars.

”I’ll handle it.”

Gauss stopped his teammates who were about to take action and rushed forward with his sword.

In no time, he easily dealt with the five skeletons.

Skeletons that an ordinary farmer could handle naturally didn’t pose any trouble for him.

”Killed regular Skeletons *5”

”Total monster kills: 110”

Feeling good.

Gauss looked at the skeletons that had completely lost their Spirits and sheathed his Rapier.

These days, due to practicing Mage Armor, the accumulated numbers in the Monster Atlas had been stagnant.

He looked at the several dark, deep corridors in front of him, feeling an uncontrollable excitement inside.

He hoped this micro-dungeon would have more weak enemies like ordinary skeletons.

After all, the Monster Atlas in the Adventurer’s Handbook wasn’t picky about monster strength; even weak ones like ordinary skeletons could contribute to the monster kill count just like any other monsters.

Perhaps, in this dungeon, he would be able to rack up enough kills; who knows.

Meanwhile,

Lawrence, who was watching on the side, saw Gauss charge forward and swiftly cut down all the enemies. Even though he knew they were just weak skeletons, he couldn’t help but be amazed.

Is this how we spell casters fight?

Something seemed to quietly shatter in his heart.
