Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 128: Chapter 126: My Teacher Isn’t Human!

Kael frowned. To be honest, when it came to magic that involved memory and thoughts, he didn’t want anyone else teaching him, not even Dumbledore.

It wasn’t just him; many wizards felt the same way, and Chris should be very aware of this.

But judging by Chris’s demeanor, he seemed to trust the other person a lot.

Kael hesitated for a moment and didn’t directly refuse. He decided to check it out first.

If it doesn’t work out, he can always find an excuse to escape.

After discussing, Chris planned to wait until after Kael’s birthday to take him to see the teacher, but Kael had different thoughts.

Birthdays come every year, so one day doesn’t make a difference. Besides, he was curious about the so-called Occlumency teacher and wanted to confirm their identity quickly.

If it didn’t feel right, he could think of another solution in time.

Since Kael insisted, Chris had no objections.

The two arrived at a clearing outside the room. Chris extended his arm and said, ”We can Disillusion directly there. Grab my arm.”

Kael took a deep breath and grabbed the arm extended toward him.

”Alright, let’s go!”

With a loud bang, they disappeared from the spot simultaneously.

When Kael opened his eyes again, he found himself in front of a red-roofed wooden house.

The cabin wasn’t large, but it was very cozy. Every corner was immaculately clean, with a low fence surrounding it, and an elderly couple was cheerfully watching them.

”Grandpa Newt?”

”Grandma Tina?”

Kael looked at the two in surprise.

He hadn’t expected Chris’ teacher to be Newt and Tina, but if it was them, then it was fine.

”Little Kael, weren’t you going to learn Occlumency? Why are you still standing there? Come on in.”

Tina stepped forward, pinched Kael’s cheek, led him into the room, and brought him many cookies and homemade buns.

Kael sighed internally. Although he had just finished breakfast, he still ate a lot, stuffing his mouth full.

After he couldn’t eat any more, Kael rubbed his stomach and asked, ”Grandma Tina, are you the one teaching me this time?”

Among the people in this house, Tina probably had the highest level of Occlumency.

After all, her sister Queenie was a natural Legilimens. If Tina’s Occlumency weren’t good, she wouldn’t have any secrets from her sister.

Tina shook her head with a smile and said, ”I’m only responsible for teaching you the basic theory. The rest has nothing to do with me.”

”Not you?” Kael was taken aback, turning towards Newt in confusion.

”Not me either, child.” Newt placed an opened suitcase on the floor and said with a grin, ”Follow me, I’ll take you to meet it.”

Uh...

Seeing the suitcase, a sense of foreboding rose in Kael’s heart.

But Newt entered, so he had no choice but to follow.

The space inside the suitcase was enormous, very large, with dense trees, several full rivers, and lakes, looking like a real forest.

Newt walked ahead, leading Kael to a clearing by the water.

When they arrived, a Wampus Cat gracefully walked over from nearby, seemingly waiting for them.

Its bright blue eyes focused on Newt and Kael, nodding slightly.

”This is Natalie.” Newt gently scratched the Wampus Cat’s chin and said, smiling, ”Remember, Kael, every Wampus Cat is a born Legilimens.”

”Of course... I remember.”

Kael tugged at his mouth, a stronger premonition of dread rising in his heart.

Chris also came over, patting Kael’s shoulder, smiling, ”What do you think? The teacher I found for you is pretty good, huh?”

”So, my teacher is actually the Wampus Cat, Natalie?”

”Exactly.” Chris replied, ”If you want to master Occlumency quickly, you need enough pressure to awaken strong emotions deep within you. We agreed Natalie would be the best choice for your teacher. She agreed too.”

”After you learn the basic theory, we’ll send you here. Then she’ll attack you, and your job is not to end up too beaten up.”

”If you can hold out for five minutes without a scratch, it means you’ve succeeded in Occlumency.”

”Wait... five minutes?” Kael interrupted Chris, incredulous, ”But this is a Wampus Cat. Even if I learn Occlumency, I’ll stand no chance against it.”

The six-legged Wampus Cat is one of the fastest Fantastic Beasts. To be frank, it wouldn’t even need Legilimency to play with Kael. It’s superfluous.

”Don’t worry.” Newt assured, ”Natalie is smart. She knows what to do.”

”But...”

Kael wanted to protest more, but Natalie the Wampus Cat walked over and gently nuzzled his face.

”Meow...”

”I trust you.” Kael quickly scratched its chin. ”I just think this approach seems unreliable...”

”On the contrary, I think it’s perfect,” Chris said earnestly, ”If we taught you, we’d use Legilimency to pressure you. It’s the same thing as the Wampus Cat.”

But unlike us, the Wampus Cat can practice with you anytime, anywhere. We can’t do that.

Moreover, she won’t reveal the little secrets in your head.”

Kael thought for a moment and suddenly realized Chris made a lot of sense.

The sensation of being Legilimens isn’t great, but with a Wampus Cat, it’s much easier to accept.

”Alright, I agree.” Kael nodded.

The Wampus Cat purred contentedly, then lifted a front paw and gave a well-aimed kick to Kael’s backside.

”Whoosh!”

No shock there, Kael spun into the adjacent lake.

Chris and Newt were startled but soon caught on to what was happening.

”Looks like we don’t need to teach him the basic theory.” Newt chuckled, ”I’m going to check on Anar. She just gave birth to a litter of baby Nifflers and is still weak.

Are you headed back to the Ministry?”

Chris shook his head, ”I’ll go with you. I happen to be on vacation today.”

Newt nodded and headed toward another section.

Chris followed but paused after a few steps. He turned and shouted, ”Remember not to use Charms!”

A hand emerged from the lake and waved at him.
