Ferocious Boss: Hubby, Let’s Get Married

Chapter 850: She Was Critically Injured; We Do Not Know If She Is Dead Or Alive

However, just as she dashed across the pedestrian crossing, the old man who picked up recyclables before her suddenly rushed toward her direction as she was right in the middle of the road. “Car! Car!” he screamed. “Move! Move! Hurry…”

Ye Lingzhi was stunned. She whipped her head around and saw a speeding car. It did not stop at the red light. Instead, it gunned forward and screeched over the road, flying toward her.

By the time Ye Lingzhi saw this, the car was already right before her. She could not dodge it even if she wanted to.

With a frightened shriek, the figure in the middle of the road was sent flying in a split second by the speeding car… Crash! Her body flew like a flopping sack, arcing high then smashing against the ground. Blood immediately flowed out…

The car did not stop after it hit her, and it did not bother to slow down either. In a flash, it was gone!

Yue Tingfeng already received a call before he could finish his meal.

“Boss, Ye Lingzhi got into an accident!” Jiang Lai said, panic in his tone, “She was critically injured and has been sent to the hospital. We don’t know if she’s dead or alive.”

Yue Tingfeng slapped his chopsticks down. “When was this?”

Just half an hour ago, the person who was sitting here and talking had gotten into an accident. Yue Tingfeng could scarcely believe the news.

It was too sudden. He did not even have the chance nor the time to prepare.

“It happened not long after she got out of the club. She was hit by a car when she was crossing the road. After the driver hit and ran, the traffic police and their network at the police station managed to find out the number plate of the perpetrator. They’re in the middle of a full investigation. They should be able to catch the criminal soon.”

Yue Tingfeng’s face paled. “Got it,” he said.

There was probably no use even if they caught the driver. This accident must have been arranged by the mastermind. There was no such thing as coincidences in the world; almost every ‘coincidence’ was carefully and properly planned out.

Ye Lingzhi immediately got into an accident just as she left the club. What coincidence was that?

That mastermind had always been meticulous in doing things. If they had truly arranged for the accident, the fact that they dared to hit someone in broad daylight meant that this had been planned for long ago.

“What happened?” Yan Qingsi asked quickly when she noticed Yue Tingfeng’s pallor.

“Ye Lingzhi got into an accident right after she left the club,” Yue Tingfeng sighed. “She was critically injured. Now we don’t know how she is—if she’s even dead or alive.”

Shock overtook Yan Qingsi’s expression. “How can it be this coincidental?” she asked, voice quiet, “Getting into an accident the moment she stepped out?”

Hardness flashed in Yue Tingfeng’s eyes. “What coincidence? There must be someone who wants her dead. What she knows threatens the existence of that mastermind…”

“It’s just like when my mother was in the way of someone, so…” Yan Qingsi said, biting her lip, “She needed to die. Is that it?”

Before, Yan Qingsi truly hated Yan Songnan and Ye Lingzhi with a vengeance. Every day, she plotted ways to murder them.

However… when Yan Songnan died, she thought that she would be happy. Instead, she was sorrowful, mourning.

Ye Lingzhi had gotten into an accident so suddenly. She had no way to prepare herself for it, and Yan Qingsi, like before, did not feel a shred of joy.

Yue Tingfeng draped his arm around Yan Qingsi’s shoulders. “That person dared to kill Ye Lingzhi in broad daylight. This means that they’re being cornered to a wall. They would not have acted like this otherwise. That also means that we’re extremely close to the truth.”

However, both of them knew that the closer they got to their destination, the more dangerous it would become.

Ye Lingzhi, a member of the Ye family, had been gotten rid of just like that. They would be even more ruthless when it came to Yan Qingsi.

Yan Qingsi thought of someone. She immediately took out her phone and called Ji Mianmian.
