Ferocious Boss: Hubby, Let’s Get Married

Chapter 846: I Will Not Be Hard on You, But Your Son…

Ye Lingzhi looked up at Yue Tingfeng abruptly with disbelief. “Didn’t you say that you won’t be hard on me?”

Yue Tingfeng laughed, sat down, and said gently, “How could you believe it? Where is your aged wisdom? Anyway, I wasn’t wrong when I said that. I will not make things difficult for you, but… I will not let go of your son either.”

Ye Lingzhi almost spewed blood at that shameless statement of Yue Tingfeng’s. “Yue Tingfeng, my son is already in a vegetative state. What else do you want? Come right at me, I dare you!”

Yan Mingxiu slipped into a coma after the car accident, and after Yan Songnan died, she sent her son abroad for treatment.

Amidst slight hope, she thought that at least all internal matters back home would not affect her son, but she did not expect that Yue Tingfeng was so despicable that he dragged him into this.

Yue Tingfeng spread his arms, “There’s no point being hard on you when you choose to remain silent, so… your son is the victim now.” He shrugged. “I heard that his electromagnetic brainwave is quite active recently. The doctor even mentioned a possibility for him to regain consciousness. What will happen if the treatment is stopped, wouldn’t that dash away your only hope?”

Her face was distorted. Struggles were all shown through her eyes, knowing that this was her son’s only hope.

Between her two kids, Ye Lingzhi favored her son way more than her daughter.

She only hoped that her son could stay alive, even if he would be in coma forever. She would not give up on any glimpse of chance that would make her son conscious again.

Yue Tingfeng knew that Ye Lingzhi was shaken. “Think cleverly. I never like to make people do something unwillingly. If you are truly reluctant to cooperate, you may leave now.” he said.

Ye Lingzhi trembled, biting her lips tightly till the teeth pierced through the lower lip and bled.

Her son would die if she chose to leave now, how could she leave?

Yue Tingfeng did not urge her. He looked at Ye Lingzhi silently. It seemed like it was difficult to choose between the secret in her heart and her son’s life. That secret… what could it possibly be?

“I heard that the hospital had developed a new drug that can stimulate the brain in vegetative state effectively. Those who have been unconscious for more than a decade have begun to be responsive…” he uttered calmly.

Ye Lingzhi’s body suddenly relaxed after listening to him. The previous struggles on her face turned into despair. “That… necklace, I swear I have no clue at all. The only thing I know is that the necklace was nowhere to be found when I saw the body. After that, I asked Yan Songnan about it, he didn’t know the whereabouts too. It was just a necklace. I didn’t pay much attention to it. However, my father did tell me that the person that collected Nie Qiuping’s body was arranged by my uncle immediately after the incident,” she said.

Behind the screen, Yan Qingsi put down the chopstick immediately after listening to the conversation. Did Ye Jiangong take the necklace since he was the one who arranged his man to collect the body?

Yue Tingfeng pursued further, “Since you don’t know much about it, why are you being so secretive?”

“Because I only realized that the necklace is a very important thing much later. Back then… we never intended to kill Nie Qiuping. I just stole her man.” Ye Lingzhi murmured with her face covered with her hands. “Nie Qiuping was just an ordinary country girl who would never be on par with me, why should I kill her? Yan Songnan, my father and I agreed to only teach her a lesson so that she could go back to the village with Yan Qingsi obediently, and never returned to the city again.”
