Ferocious Boss: Hubby, Let’s Get Married

Chapter 838: As Meek as a Lamb Before His Uncle

You Xi nodded his head vigorously. “I won’t lie. I definitely won’t lie … Uncle, I… I will answer all your questions honestly. I’ll tell you everything I know.”

You Xi was as meek as a lamb before You Xi. He did not even dare to say a single “no”.

He was terrified right down to his bones by this second uncle of his. If he could avoid meeting him in the future, he would do so. This man was even scarier than his worst nightmare.

You Xi recalled the sensation of his head being shoved into the toilet bowl the last time. God f*cking dammit. His soul could not take that anymore.

He could only hope that his uncle would not be so extreme this time—at least let him drink clean water instead!

Tremble ran up You Xi’s spine when You Yi did not speak for a while. ‘Oh, uncle, uncle. Please ask me quick. Just kill me already. Stop torturing me.’

“Un-uncle… If… if you want to know anything, just… ask… ask me!”

You Yi stood up. He ripped You Xi’s dressing gown open with a swipe.

You Xi quivered. Dear God, what was his uncle doing? Was this a new tactic of his?

You Xi saw a necklace around You Xi’s neck when he tore his clothes. It looked just as Yan Qingsi had described. The pendant was half a ginkgo leaf. He snatched it off in a flash.

“How long have you been wearing this necklace?” You Xi asked.

“I-I-I… can’t remember. I have been wearing this necklace… for as long as I can remember. Uncle, if you… you like it, then I’ll give this to you…” As You Xi faced You Yi, he was almost tempted to call him ‘Grandpa’. Never mind the necklace. So long as he could appease him, he would give anything.

By now, You Xi forgot what his mother had told him, that this necklace was extremely important, that he could not take it off—that he definitely could not give it away. He had to take good care of it.

You Xi rubbed the pendant between his fingers. “You can’t remember? You sure?”

A petrifying aura blanketed You Yi’s voice. You Xi tremored on the bed. “I-I-I… Let me think about it. I’m thinking… I think… when I was five… That’s right… I was five…”

“When you were five… I wasn’t home back then.” You Yi’s job in his earlier days was special. He was not home for years.

You Xi nodded his head vigorously. “That… that’s right… You weren’t… at home!”

You Xi reminisced the days where his uncle was not at home. He was such an emperor in the You family, the firstborn male of the firstborn before him. Everyone worshipped the ground he walked on.

“Who gave you this necklace? Your father or your mother?” You Yi asked another question.

You Xi shook his head. “I… don’t know. I’ve been wearing this for so long that I don’t know who gave it to me. All I know is that they kept warning me to never lose this necklace.”

“You rarely show this necklace to other people throughout all these years, right?”

“That’s right. I rarely show it, because… I-I think that it’s ugly…”

“Was there anything interesting that happened that concerned this necklace? Or is there any memory of it that you remember very clearly?” Something special must have happened since this necklace was so special.

You Xi shook his head. “No. I don’t think so…”

“You don’t think so?” You Yi retorted icily.

Fear crept up You Xi’s spine. “Let me think. Just let me think properly, Uncle,” he said quickly. “I’ll definitely remember something…”

F*ck. Even if he could not remember anything, he had to remember something.

However, he could not recall anything that was of interest. You Xi did not think that this necklace was anything special anyway.

You Xi stared at him from the side. Another shiver jolted through You Xi. He still could not remember even after a while. “Since you have such trouble remembering, then that means that I have to help you remember!” You Yi said dispassionately.
