Ferocious Boss: Hubby, Let’s Get Married

Chapter 840: I Definitely Will Not Dare to Touch a Hair on Her Forehead

You Xi naturally knew that his uncle’s words were not an idle threat. He meant every word of it.

He would make every second, every minute of his life a living nightmare. F*cking hell, the worst thing that ever happened to him in his life was having this uncle.

However, no matter how much he hated him in his heart, You Xi needed to maintain a deferential expression on his lips and face. He would not dare to fool him even a little.

“Un-un-uncle, I’ve been very good lately. I’ve definitely not done anything bad,” You Xi said hurriedly, “I’ve been lying on the sickbed recently. I can’t do anything, and I definitely don’t have any funny ideas about getting with Yan Qingsi. Oh, that’s right. I-I-I wanted to make up for what I did, so I hired a group of netizens to promote her online. I helped her… promote her soon-to-air drama. Uncle, I don’t have any other intentions. I genuinely want to make up for what I did. You… You don’t worry about anything. I definitely will not dare to touch a hair of hers. I’m serious. I’m serious…”

In order to garner favor from his uncle, You Xi hired an army of netizens to advertise Yan Qingsi’s new drama to help popularize it at night. Anyhow… he did not dare to harm Yan Qingsi anymore.

You Xi thought that helping Yan Qingsi this way and helping her to find resources when he was discharged might improve his image in his uncle’s eyes. Perhaps he could even allow him to have a brief moment of respite.

At You Xi’s earnest answer, You Yi knew that he probably would not dare to have any ideas about touching her anymore, and he would not have any other perverted thoughts. He nodded his head. “It’s good that you understand.”

You Xi nodded his head till it became a blur. “Don’t worry, Uncle. I understand everything very clearly—so clear that it’s crystal. When I get out… I’ll help her get on a variety show. It’ll ensure that she’ll be the hottest celebrity around…”

“Does it really require you to do so?” You Yi said, lips twisted into a wry smile.

“No need. Not at all, but… your nephew just wants to show his sincerity. There’s no other intention…”

“Remember what I said.”

“Mmhmm. I remember everything. I remember everything that you said, Uncle. I will definitely not have any funny ideas and I will definitely not touch her.”

Footsteps suddenly sounded from outside. It was probably the nurse making rounds. “Uncle, why don’t… Why don’t you hide in the toilet-” You Xi said hurriedly.

However, You Xi did not get to finish his sentence when he watched You Yi pull the curtains aside, push the window open, and with a flip—leaped out of the window.

You Xi’s words immediately died off. What the hell? This was the f*cking seventh floor!

You Xi’s mouth grew so big that he could almost swallow an entire egg. His mouth still gaped open when the nurse entered the ward.

The nurse saw You Xi was awake when she pushed the door open. “Why aren’t you asleep?”

You Xi raised a hand and nudged his lower jaw close. “I woke up to go to the toilet,” he said, turning his head.

The nurse noticed that the window was open. “Ay, why aren’t the windows closed?” she asked.

You Xi rubbed his nose. “Oh… I felt a little stuffy in here,” he replied, “So I opened the window.”

“You better stay away from the wind for now.” The nurse walked over, intending to close the window.

“No, no. I just opened it,” You Xi said quickly, “Just let me breathe for a bit, then I’ll close it.”

“You better remember to close it,” the nurse chided.

“I’ll definitely remember…” You Xi said.

The nurse asked if You Xi was uncomfortable, then left when there was not a problem.

The moment she left, You Xi immediately rolled out of bed and limped towards the window. He poked his head out and saw that his uncle had already climbed down safely, his clear silhouette walking into the distance underneath the streetlights.
