Ferocious Boss: Hubby, Let’s Get Married

Chapter 547: You’re The Best Mother-In-Law

Mrs. Yue was moaning deeply in pain. “It’s painful… you try letting someone stab a hole in your abdomen and see, what an unfilial son…”

Yue Tingfeng used the damped cotton buds to dab lightly on Mrs. Yue’s lips. Even though she was recovering well after the surgery but she could not have any water or food just yet. Seeing her chapped lips and the dried skin that came off on it, Yue Tingfeng’s heart was aching.

“Grandma said you have a low pain threshold since young. Why weren’t you afraid yesterday when you rushed up?”

“I was afraid. My legs were weak seeing the knife but I thought, if anything happens to Qingsi, my son would be single all his life…”

Yue Tingfeng’s hand stopped in mid-air for a while. “Have you ever thought… what if you lose your life?”

“Sigh… who would have thought that much at that time? I saw it and I had the ability, I can’t be not doing anything right? I like Qingsi. If I see her being hurt right in front of my own eyes, how would I face her in the future?”

“Then when Qingsi is here later, you try convincing her to marry into our family with such a great effort of yours. Where else to find a good mother-in-law like you?

“Sure, sure… when she is here, I’ll tell her… Son, bring me some water…”

“No, the doctor doesn’t allow.”

“The doctor is not around. Come one, just one sip, one sip…”

“Not even one sip.”

“Hurmp, I’m mad. I’m really mad…”

Yan Qingsi overheard the conversation in there and her eyes went blurry. She got her hands up and her face was all wet. She rubbed hard but she could not stop the tears from coming down.

How could she ever selfishly enjoy such a sincere love of theirs?

Suddenly, someone tapped her shoulder from behind, Yan Qingsi turned around abruptly and saw the three cousins of the Su Family.

Su Lil’ Six saw the tears all over Yan Qingsi’s face and scratched her head awkwardly. “Cous… Miss. Yan…”

Yan Qingsi’s heart twitched. She was a sensitive person.

Su Lil’ Six’s appellation for her has changed from the intimate cousin to the estranged Miss Yan. That showed that she had retracted her acceptance of Yan Qingsi.

Yan Qingsi thought she probably knew the exact reason. She was not entitled to say anything because even she agreed that they did the right thing.

Su Lil’ Three murmured under his breath, “I want to have a chat with Miss Yan, is that ok?”

Yan Qingsi followed him downstairs.

Stood under the ficus tree, listening to the cicadas, Su Lil’ Three signed and said, “We all knew what happened this morning. My grandparents are on their way. In two generations of the Su Family, my aunt is the only daughter we have got in the family, but my aunt’s marriage was unhappy. My grandparents have been living in guilt because of that. They are both very old now and they do not ask much in life. All they wish for is that my aunt lives a long and healthy life…”

Yan Qingsi’s left hand held onto her right hand, trying to stop her hands from shaking. She tried hard to find her voice. “I… knew what you want to say, I… I will…”

Yan Qingsi wanted to say. “I’ll stay away from them.”

However, she could not bring herself to say it out loud. She knew it was impossible but she was obsessed to have it.

A sense of sympathy flashed by in Su Lil’ Three’s eyes, he said, “Miss Yan, I think it’s best for you to go back. My second brother, the one you saw at the police station told me about your situation. He would send some of the best policemen to protect you covertly. You don’t have to worry about your safety.”
