Yan Qingsi lets go of Yue Tingfeng and turned to leave. Xiao Xu then stared at the man for a bit before carrying everything and rushing over to catch up with her.

Yue Tingfeng felt as though a hard stone was stuck in his throat. He wanted to tell her his thoughts, but no matter what he did, he could not say it out loud. The only thing he could do was look at her leave.

He did not immediately run to her. Instead, sat on the sickbed and ruminated. He needed to get his thoughts in order. His chaotic emotions were making him feel very uncomfortable.

His phone began to ring, but he was tired and did not want to pick it up.

If he did not pick up, however, the phone would continue ringing. The noise gave him a headache, and when he took his cell phone out, he saw the caller -his mother.

He answered the call lazily, “Yes, Ma…”

“Tingfeng, where have you gone to again these few days.”

“Busy. Working overtime.” Lying was second nature to him.

Mrs. Yue got angry. “Like hell you are. I went to your company. Xiao Jiang told me you haven’t shown up in two days.”

His attitude did not change even after his lie was exposed. “Oh, I’m on a business trip.”

“Business trip? Do you take your own mother for a fool? Which CEO goes on business trips by himself?”

“I’m busy, you don’t need to care so much.”

Yue Tingfeng was about to hang up but after some thought, he asked, “Ma, why will a person feel unhappy when he or she sees someone who doesn’t care about their health, doesn’t want to rely on others, and is so stubborn that they don’t even ask for help?”

Mrs. Yue asked, “Oh… Do you feel like there’s a huge rock on your heart and you can’t breathe? Is the pain a suffocating one?”

Yue Tingfeng was shocked. “Yes, how did you know? Ma, when did you become so smart?”

Mrs. Yue scoffed. “My son, who are you pining for?”

Yue Tingfeng rolled his eyes. “What do you mean pining? I pity her, that’s all.”

“My silly little son. Has a bad person like you ever pitied anyone before in your entire life? If you feel pity for someone, then you’re pining for that person. Who is it? Tell me.”

Yue Tingfeng had no idea why his heart was beating so rapidly after hearing those words, yet he spoke as if nothing happened at all. “No one.”

Mrs Yue asked, “Is it…”

Yue Tingfeng cut her off immediately. “Don’t just make blind guesses. If I’ve already thought it through, I’ll tell you. Okay? Let’s leave it at that. I’m hanging up.”

“Hey, Son…. Son… Are you at Jing City now?” Mrs. Yue spoke, but the sound produced by the phone was simply a busy tone.

“That little brat…” Mrs. Yue cursed. She tossed her phone and shouted, “Aunt Wu, oh, Aunt Wu…”

Aunt Wu ran over, “What’s wrong, Madam?”

Mrs. Yue said with full of energy. “Go find those three-day or five-day tour groups in Jing City. I’m bringing you on a trip.”

Aunt Wu was shocked. “Huh?”

Mrs. Yue rarely traveled because she was lazy. If she did go on a trip, it was always to famous tourist cities abroad.

She waved her hand and said, “Go, quickly… I have to pack my clothes. Sigh, it’s such a pain to go out on such a hot day.”

Aunt Wu was bewildered. “Madam, why must you join a tour group? We can go ourselves.”

“You don’t understand. It’ll be too obvious if we go ourselves. Joining a tour group is not the same because everything is arranged by the tour company. It has nothing to do with me.”

At that point, Aunt Wu felt like there was no difference between the two.

Young Master and Madam were very much alike at times.
