I'm Pretending to Cultivate in Kindergarten

Chapter 120: Chapter 118: Jiang Xueli Reveals Her True Feelings

”Oh... okay.”

Jiang Xueli took another sip. It was a little hot, so Lin Zhengran helped by blowing on it.

”Try it again.”

This small gesture was devastatingly effective on the young woman. Rarely so obedient, Jiang Xueli took another sip.

She nodded. ”It’s fine now. I want to eat...”

Only then did Lin Zhengran set the cup aside and pick up the breakfast and congee.

Maybe it was because her mood had improved, or perhaps it was the medicine or the brown sugar water, but she found that her stomach really didn’t hurt as much anymore.

She managed to calm down and adjust the blanket covering her upper body, then held out her hand. ”I can eat this myself.”

Lin Zhengran handed it to her.

Jiang Xueli said thanks and began to eat her breakfast in small bites, her proud and lively eyes secretly glancing at Lin Zhengran.

When Lin Zhengran looked her way, she quickly averted her gaze, pretending nothing had happened.

He watched her finish her breakfast. Her stomachache had clearly gotten much better. ”How are you feeling now?”

”Much better.”

Jiang Xueli blushed and asked, ”But how do you know so much about girl problems? If He Qing doesn’t get period cramps, then how did you know skipping breakfast makes them worse and all that...?”

”What do you mean, ’if He Qing doesn’t get period cramps’?”

”Oh, no, no! I mean, it’s just...”

Lin Zhengran recalled what had happened that morning. ”You saw what happened at the school gate this morning, didn’t you? That’s why you keep bringing up He Qing.”

Jiang Xueli hugged the blanket and slowly nodded.

”Yeah, I saw everything... But I wasn’t trying to spy on you!” she said honestly. ”I just happened to get there a few minutes early and saw her holding your hand, warming it up... warming up my boyfriend’s hand...”

Jiang Xueli suddenly felt a pang of self-blame. ”But it makes sense, I guess. We’ve been together for two weeks, but I feel like we’ve barely spent any time alone... You probably think dating me is boring, so... you cheated... you want to break up with me and find someone else...”

”Huh? What do you mean, ’find someone else’?”

”What do you mean, ’huh’?” Jiang Xueli looked up at Lin Zhengran. Having just been taken care of by him, she couldn’t bring herself to get angry. Besides, she could never really be harsh with him anyway.

”You’ve never lied to me before. Are you denying what happened this morning? I saw it with my own eyes!”

”What happened this morning did happen, I admit that.”

Jiang Xueli bit her lip, looking wronged. She closed her eyes and retorted:

”Well, there you have it! You do want to break up with me! You want to be with He Qing! I’m not ready to give up, even though we’ve only been together for a short time. There are still so many things I want to do with you! No, I mean, we haven’t had the chance to do anything at all! And you’re already abandoning me.”

She hugged the blanket, figuring she was getting dumped anyway, so she might as well say everything on her mind. She seemed to be accepting reality but couldn’t truly accept it. Her tsundere antennae had lost their signal.

”Fine, if you want to break up, then let’s break up. Even though you don’t want me anymore, I still like you so much. I’ve liked you ever since we were little.

”Ever since fourth grade, when the whole class didn’t believe me and you were the only one who did, that’s when I started to like you. All these years, the happiest part of my day was waking up knowing I’d get to see you. I was always trying to find more chances to talk to you. I know I say one thing and mean another, but that’s just because I’m shy.”

As she spoke, she felt so wronged that she was about to cry.

”I don’t know why other girls are so bold. Every time I want to say ’I miss you,’ the words get stuck in my throat. And when I finally manage to say it, I immediately contradict myself. It’s because of this that I keep giving other people an opening.

”I don’t want to be a tsundere, you know! I’ve been trying so hard to change since I started high school, but this is just my personality.”

She sniffled and hugged her legs tightly.

”I don’t like being a tsundere either. Who would like a tsundere? They’re dishonest and do nothing but talk back to the person they like, making you mad. But I really, truly do like you.”

She reached to the side for a tissue to blow her nose but couldn’t find any. It was Lin Zhengran who handed one to her. Jiang Xueli even said ”thank you” before continuing to pour her heart out.

”This might sound a little pathetic, but even if you dump me, my heart will still only have room for you, you dummy. I don’t even want to look at other guys. My heart has had no room for anyone else for a long time.”

Jiang Xueli wiped her tears with her hand. At an emotional peak in her speech, she glanced at Lin Zhengran, completely missing the curious look in his eyes.

Jiang Xueli: ”Anyway, since you don’t want me anymore, there’s no reason to hold back. I’m not trying to win you back or anything... it’s just... I should have told you all this a long time ago. So I’m just letting it all out today.”

Her eyes welled up with tears, and her voice choked with emotion. ”I really, really like you. When I said before that I’d marry you because you couldn’t find a girlfriend, I was lying. You’re so popular with girls, how could you not find one? The truth is, I just genuinely want to marry you. That was just an excuse I made for myself.”

She lowered her head. ”Okay, I’ve said everything I needed to say. I’ll agree to whatever you say next. Go ahead.”

She suddenly felt wronged again and started sobbing, wiping her tears. ”Even if you say you don’t want me, I’ll agree. WAHHH... Even though I can’t accept it at all... WAHHH...”

Lin Zhengran broke into a sweat. He was also amazed that Jiang Xueli had managed to say so much at once. ”When did I ever say I didn’t want you? Haven’t I told you many times that I wouldn’t abandon you? So, of course, you’re still mine.”

”Wahhh... Huh?” Jiang Xueli had expected him to break up with her. Hearing that he still wanted her, she suddenly looked at him, her crying stopping abruptly, utterly confused. ”Then... then what about He Qing...?”

”Oh, as for He Qing, she’s mine too. Of course I won’t abandon He Qing either. You’re both mine.”

”Huh?”
