Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 545: Chapter 389: The Bold Mad Witch

Furthermore, whether it was because they were born from the corpses of Deities or because they were cursed by the gods, Divine Abominations were incredibly hostile toward Deities. They would essentially fight to the death upon seeing one, like a rabid dog!

But later, with the advent of Wizards, its definition expanded once again...

During the Divine War, some Wizards coveted the Divine Abomination’s Anti-Divine Attack ability and developed a Golem version of it!

After that, it was like opening Pandora’s Box; all sorts of versions of Divine Abominations emerged!

Aside from the Golem version, the most popular type of Divine Abomination among Wizards—especially beloved by Mad Witches—was the Follower Divine Abomination!

This type of Follower was extremely difficult to cultivate. It not only required vast amounts of Divine Power but also a massive body prepared for it. The Divine Power had to be guided to corrupt it, and finally, everything had to be integrated and quickened to create a Follower Divine Abomination.

If even a single step in the process went wrong, no matter how far along one was, the entire investment would instantly go down the drain!

But while the cost was high, its power was well worth the price. Once created, a Follower Divine Abomination was Tier Six, possessing power comparable to a True God!

Furthermore, because of their Anti-Divine Attack ability, an average Deity was no match for them in a one-on-one fight. Therefore, many desperate Mad Witches, after advancing to Tier Five, would choose to go all-in on creating a Follower Divine Abomination.

’But this guy is only Tier Four, so he’s obviously not the type to go all-in. He must be serious about this.’

”Tsk, tsk...” At this thought, an expression of pity appeared on Isaac’s face.

Why?

Because he was doomed to fail!

The war between Wizards and Deities wasn’t a one-sided victory for the Wizards. As the former hegemons of the Boundless Void, the Deities still had a few tricks up their sleeves. Aside from bringing a Magic Tide to the Main World that could extinguish the legacy of Wizards, one of Their accomplishments was to seal all Wizard research concerning Divine Abominations!

Regardless of the version of the Divine Abomination, its creation had nothing to do with skill; it was purely a matter of luck!

In other words, even if you performed every step correctly, if your luck was bad, even the theoretically easiest-to-create Golem Divine Abomination would fail...

And according to current statistics, the success rate for creating Divine Abominations has already dropped below one percent!

It’s even hurtling toward one-tenth of a percent!

Not even the Magic Tide gets that kind of treatment!

One can only imagine the psychological trauma the previous Divine Abomination Creations inflicted upon the Deities...

Therefore, Isaac didn’t think this guy could possibly succeed.

Of course, another important reason Isaac made such a judgment was that he could see the giant number floating in the sky—0%!

’It would be weirder if this *didn’t* fail.’

However, Isaac didn’t think the man’s actions were meaningless. When he realized this was a ritual to create a Divine Abomination, he perceived more to it—this wasn’t just a simple ritual to create a Divine Abomination.

It included some modifications that Isaac couldn’t yet see clearly, but in any case, this was definitely an experiment based on the Divine Abomination. And as long as it was an experiment, there would certainly be something to gain, regardless of success or failure.

’Perhaps he could create a Follower that isn’t a Divine Abomination but possesses the same Anti-Divine Attack ability?’

’In the world of Magic, anything is possible!’

’But that wasn’t Isaac’s concern. He wouldn’t underestimate the Outer Gods, but he wouldn’t overestimate them either. A level-headed approach is best. In any case, my odds of winning have been quite high so far.’

’What interests me now is the little boy in the dilapidated hut. I’ve already grasped most of the Knowledge contained within him, but in the boy, I see an interesting possibility!’

’A possibility that could allow me to awaken my Mad Witch Traits!’

’I once learned from Philo about two methods to awaken the Mad Witch Traits. The first was to trade with Outer Gods with your life on the line; as long as you traded with six Outer Gods before reaching Tier Three, you would awaken the traits. Unfortunately, that path is closed to me.’

’Because strictly speaking, in every trade I’ve made with an Outer God, it was the other side that was risking their life...’

’It’s just that the other side has plenty of chips to play with, so even when risking it all, they can afford to lose.’

’The second method is to slay a Deity I’ve traded with after advancing to Tier Five. This wouldn’t be difficult for me, but its cost-effectiveness is questionable.’

’Because I possess the Divine Spirit Book. After I reach Tier Five, any Outer God I can kill could very likely also be controlled by me. A True God-level combatant versus a trait with unknown abilities...’

’It’s really hard to say which is stronger.’

’So I’m now pinning my hopes on a method to awaken the traits at Tier Four, but unfortunately, I’ve found no clues so far.’

’But in this boy, I see a slight possibility related to the second method...’

’The possibility stems from the Evil God’s contingency plan left on the boy!’

’Although this thing makes it highly likely that he will be eroded and controlled by the Evil God in the future, it also...’

’...in a sense, isn’t this also a stable channel of power connected to the Evil God?’

’And if it’s a channel, there’s no reason it should only be one-way!’

’At least, not where I’m concerned!’

’So, could I draw power from the Evil God on the other end through this stable channel?’

’And if enough power is drawn, could the boy achieve divinity?’

’I believe the possibility is quite high!’

’The reason is simple—the boy has a [Martial God Body]!’

’A Spiritual Host is a type of Follower that increases its power through a self-fueling spiral. A [Martial God Body], which can host multiple spirits, is that concept taken to an extreme. The power feedback multiplier is astonishingly high!’

’If the boy were used as a medium, he could probably advance to Tier Six and become an Evil God without needing to drain the one on the other side dry!’

’In that case, I could kill the one on the other side to awaken my own trait, and let the boy replace that Evil God to become my enforcer. After all, if it came to that, only one of the two could exist anyway.’

’And a boy I’ve personally groomed might be a bit more... compliant...’

The more Isaac thought about it, the more feasible the plan seemed!

The brighter his eyes became!

However, Isaac didn’t abduct the boy directly. Instead, he left a mental imprint on him and then departed, continuing to wander the streets.

’The boy is that Mad Witch’s Creation. Although he’s destined to be abandoned, he hasn’t been abandoned yet, has he?’

’So now is not the time to make a move. Besides, there are still many things in this Island Country that intrigue me, and I won’t leave until my curiosity is satisfied. Rather than increase the risk of exposure by running around with the boy, it’s better to let him continue living here.’

’Anyway, the unique nature of his [Martial God Body] makes him extremely powerful in combat, so there’s no need to worry too much about his safety.’

So, over the following period, Isaac took his time exploring the Island Country. On this island, he witnessed all sorts of strange and bizarre Followers. While broadening his horizons, he also came up with a few half-baked ideas for Liu Li’s transformation plan.

At least he was no longer completely clueless as he had been before.

Of course, his greatest discovery was the Ritual Array that covered the entire Island Country!

After this period of Observation, he had roughly figured out what the Mad Witch was trying to do. First, Isaac’s earlier guess was correct: the guy indeed wanted a Follower that possessed the Anti-Divine Attack ability, one that was very similar to a Divine Abomination but was not one itself.

Isaac called it Divine Abomination·Modified!

’Well, the Mad Witch certainly doesn’t call it that, but in my view, the name is very fitting. Because his experiment failed; what he ultimately created was still a Divine Abomination, just one that was a little different from the traditional version.’

Isaac had also figured out the reason for the failure by fully unleashing his [Analysis]. The root of the problem lay with the Anti-Divine Attack ability itself. The Deities hadn’t simply sealed the creation of artificial Divine Abominations; they had also bound the Anti-Divine Attack ability exclusively to Divine Abominations!

Although this greatly enhanced the threat that natural-born Divine Abominations posed to Deities, such Divine Abominations were rare to begin with. Many Deities might never even see a single natural-born Divine Abomination from their Ascension to Divinity to their fall...

Instead, they saw quite a few in the hands of Wizards...

And they were fucking different versions, at that!

So, all things considered, the seal was a pretty good deal for them.
