Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 533: Chapter 384: Battling Morgan! The Turtle Appears Again!

High above the Royal City, Morgan watched the three figures below get instantly crushed. A look of astonishment flickered in his eyes, and his gaze on Isaac turned grave. ’A mere Servant Demon possesses such power? And from what I know, this isn’t even his strongest one!’

The power that the rat and the Dragon-man had just revealed in that brief instant was not to be underestimated, either. ’Isaac Solomon...’

’Did I underestimate him after all?’

”Relax. No need to be so serious.” Isaac slightly raised his left hand as the Divine Spirit Book unfurled. ”I only came this time to test what kind of power Boundless truly is. I won’t kill you. The feud between you and Caesar is something you two must ultimately settle yourselves.”

Hearing this, Morgan’s eyes narrowed. This wasn’t the first time he had heard such words. His father, the Emperor, had once told him the same thing. Back then, he was only Tier Three, but now he was Tier Four and had completely mastered Boundless. ’Logically, Caesar, who is still just Tier Three, shouldn’t even be qualified to challenge me. But why...?’

Noticing Morgan’s expression, Isaac raised an eyebrow. He knew this brute hadn’t figured it out, but that was to be expected. He himself had only noticed the faint threads of fate connecting the two of them after he advanced to Tier Four and had met both Caesar and Morgan.

If even he had only just realized it, it was perfectly normal that a brute like Morgan hadn’t noticed at all.

’Even if the Emperor had told him something, he probably just assumed it was some kind of exhortation.’

At this thought, Isaac couldn’t help but smile. ”How interesting. Your father died a fated death, and you, in order to save the Terra Empire, are also caught deep in the vortex of fate. Then there’s Philo. If he hadn’t met me, he probably would have been swept into it as well. Your family... is truly interesting~”

Morgan’s expression grew solemn, and his gaze toward Isaac sharpened, as if he had just exposed some great secret.

Isaac, however, didn’t seem to mind. He had never really believed in the concept of fate, even though prophecy spells and Time Magic existed in this world.

In fact, it was precisely because this magic existed that he was even less of a believer in fate. The magical theory of the prophecy school stated it plainly: the future can be changed!

Including a fated death!

Of course, the latter was still just a theory and had not yet been proven. But it was important to know that in the past, even the futures seen through ordinary prophecy spells were considered unchangeable. Back then, the prophecy school was in a very awkward position.

It could indeed predict the future, but it had no practical use.

Only with the gradual development of Magic did the situation evolve into what it is today—where only a very small number of prophecies are unchangeable.

Therefore, compared to the idea of fate, Isaac was a much firmer believer in causality. You reap what you sow. It was more logical, unlike the abstruse and mysterious nature of fate.

It was worth mentioning that most Wizards of the prophecy school now based their research on the theory of causality. Rumor had it that the Emperor’s death was currently their most popular research topic...

Wait!

At this thought, Isaac was suddenly startled. He glanced at the tense Eldest Prince Morgan across from him. ’It seems I’ve... stumbled upon an incredible secret!’

In contrast to Isaac’s dawning realization, Eldest Prince Morgan’s expression was far uglier. This was Terra’s greatest secret. Only three people in the entire Royal Family knew of it: the sole surviving Demigod, whose body had issues; a Tier Five Knight of the Royal Family; and himself. Even Philo was unaware of the matter.

And yet...

Looking at Isaac, killing intent began to rise within Morgan!

”Divine Domain!”

With killing intent surging, Morgan held nothing back. He immediately unleashed a Knight’s standard Divine Domain. A seemingly boundless, golden Divine General appeared behind him, but unlike that of an ordinary Knight, it did not fully manifest.

’Hm? So this is the effect of Boundless?’ Isaac’s brow twitched as he felt the power of the Divine Domain wash over him. He observed the golden Divine General behind Morgan—it was faint and had not truly descended, yet all of its power was concentrated on Morgan himself. He was beginning to get a basic understanding of Boundless.

Isaac’s current understanding of Knights was quite comprehensive. The Knight power system typically only began to stand out at Tier Three. Before that, they were just pure brutes!

In addition to their Authority, a Tier Three Knight would also master an ability called Incarnation. Knights of both the Path of the Gods and the Path of the Demon Beasts could master this power. The only difference was that a Knight of God also gained a Divine Domain, allowing them to comprehensively weaken their enemies and strengthen themselves.

It was said that the domain of a powerful Knight of God could rival a Divine Kingdom!

As for the domain ability, a normal Knight on the Path of the Demon Beasts would only have a chance of mastering it at Tier Four. Some with a weaker Furnace Skill might not even grasp it until Tier Five.

Take Isaac’s father, Gaia, for example. The domain he currently used was still the Divine Domain from his time as a Tier Three, and it was mostly ineffective against Tier Four enemies.

And at Tier Four, the signature ability of a Knight was the Melting Furnace!

It marked their initial mastery of the Furnace Skill they cultivated. On a normal day, this ability helped a Knight refine various energies more efficiently, using them to temper their physical body and grow stronger. In battle, it could devour all sorts of powers, and while defending, it could convert them into various temporary buffs, allowing the Knight to grow stronger as the fight raged on!
