Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 510: Chapter 367: The Beginning of Free Trade

Manchester Yifalei, the God of Mystery and Wisdom.

There wasn’t much documentation on this Evil God in the Little World, which was normal. The same was true for most Evil Gods. Outside of the Real World, if too much information about an Outer God circulated within a Little World, it would draw the entity’s gaze and lead to the world’s gradual Erosion.

Therefore, in these kinds of Little Worlds, the suppression of information regarding Outer Gods was even stricter than in the Real World.

Interestingly, it was precisely this attitude of avoiding Outer God Power as if it were a plague that exposed the weakness of these Little Worlds, making the Outer Gods all the more eager to turn their attention toward them.

After all, the Real World had too many heavyweights these days. The risks of stirring up trouble were too high. Even Outer Gods had to consider their return on investment!

It was said that in the early days, information about Outer Gods in the Little Worlds was relatively common. After all, it is easier to be a thief for a thousand days than to guard against one. However, as the Real World began developing the Little Worlds within the Boundless Void, the situation gradually began to reverse.

The reason was...

The Mad Witches had also followed the main contingent from the Real World into the Boundless Void...

This was something no one had anticipated. The Mad Witches were astonished to find that the Outer God transaction rituals in the Little Worlds were in a state of all-you-can-take!

It drove the first generation of Mad Witches pioneering the New Worlds absolutely wild!

An ordinary person might be wary of the Evil God’s will contained within Outer God Power, but for a Mad Witch, the most dangerous part of the process was confined to the ”gambling table.” Once they were off the ”table,” the Outer God no longer had a say in the matter.

Thus, after suffering several major losses, the Outer Gods gradually retracted their claws. Faced with resistance from the Little Worlds, they slowly lost their advantage and eventually became what they are today.

However, most Outer Gods wouldn’t completely shut down communication. After all, it was better to channel the flow than to dam it entirely—a rule from the Real World that also applied to the Little Worlds. Worst case, they’d just keep playing games with the Mad Witches. So, most Outer Gods chose to implement their Real World schemes in the Little Worlds. The returns weren’t great, but it was better than nothing.

In any case, a success would be a zero-cost venture.

But a small number of Outer Gods chose a different path. They sealed off all external communication, refusing to trade with the Mad Witches!

The God of Mystery and Wisdom, Manchester Yifalei, was one of them.

Isaac had been ecstatic when he first discovered it. This was the Analysis Authority, after all!

But after being rebuffed three times, Isaac’s fiery enthusiasm gradually cooled. As his research deepened, he managed to find information about this Evil God in the Real World as well.

It turned out that the very reason for its seclusion was the Analysis Authority!

As mentioned, the Analysis Authority was an extremely practical power for a Wizard, even hailed as a form of ”pseudo-Omniscience”!

One could only imagine the allure this Authority held for Wizards. And Mad Witches were Wizards, too; Isaac wasn’t the only clever person in the world.

Moreover, Isaac had learned the very idea of seeking the Analysis Authority from an Outer God from his predecessors.

Consequently, during the era when Mad Witches ran rampant, any Outer God who possessed the Analysis Authority was nothing more than a fat sheep waiting to be fleeced in their eyes!

To this day, basically none of those Outer Gods are still active. Even True Gods who mastered similar Authorities wouldn’t dare publicly admit they possessed the Analysis Authority.

This God of Wisdom was one such Outer God, having been fleeced by Mad Witches to the point of slumber, to the point of complete self-imposed isolation!

Though its power had recovered significantly after countless eons of slumber, the memories of being tormented by the Mad Witches were still vivid. How could it dare respond to a transaction request from an unknown source?

Isaac had tried various methods to get through to this reclusive Evil God. He tried new-era Mad Witch transaction rituals, posed as a fanatical Believer, pretended to be a Divine Envoy, and even acted the part of a desperate zealot who had stumbled upon a prayer ritual to an Outer God by chance...

But without exception, every attempt failed.

This was because the entity wasn’t cautiously screening its callers; it was indiscriminately rejecting all of them!

Under these circumstances, even if Isaac obtained its true name and bound it to the Divine Spirit Book with a contract, he couldn’t use its power as long as its true form remained hidden.

But it was unrealistic to expect Isaac to just give up. Finding an Evil God with the Analysis Authority wasn’t easy these days.

He had his own research plan for the Analysis Authority, but its success was not guaranteed. It was better to get one to use in the meantime.

Besides, the two approaches didn’t conflict. In fact, having the Analysis Authority would be beneficial to his research plan.

And finally, the main reason was that it shouldn’t be too difficult.

The principle was simple. ’If it won’t open the door, I’ll just kick it down!’

He would force it to agree to the transaction ritual. Once that first step was taken, the rest was just a matter of procedure.

For this ”door-knocking,” Isaac had two plans. The first was a method he had once used on the Master of Billions of Flesh: posing as one of its Believers to create a fake prayer ritual. When the entity or its Divine Kingdom responded to this fake prayer...

...the transaction ritual hidden within would manifest, establishing a direct connection.

Of course, the target and the situation were different this time, so some adjustments would be necessary.

Previously, the Master of Billions of Flesh had only fallen into slumber. It didn’t trade with any Mad Witches, but it still responded to the prayers of its Believers. In other words, it had only suspended some of its operations.

But Manchester was different. It had completely cut off all operations. Even its automated Divine Kingdom had fallen into a deep slumber!

The cutoff was absolute!

But based on Isaac’s understanding of Outer Gods, it wasn’t an impossible situation.

An Evil God’s slumber was a way to reduce power expenditure and accumulate energy to heal. Simply put, it was about increasing intake while reducing outflow.

Yes, while it had sealed off all external communication—the ”reducing outflow” part—the ”increasing intake” part still existed.

Deities could draw power from Faith with great efficiency, but that wasn’t the only channel. They could also grow stronger through their own Cultivation, much like Wizard Knights.

In fact, the earliest versions of the Wizards’ Meditation Skill and the Knights’ Furnace Skill were adapted from the Deities. The same was true for the Techniques used by Legendary Mages and Knights of God to draw power from Faith.

Furthermore, through his research on Virtual Deities, Isaac had discovered they could also forge the Authorities they commanded into Divine Authority, then draw power from that Divine Authority.

It was just that neither of these two methods could compare to the Power of Faith, so they were gradually superseded. But they were only superseded, not eliminated; they could coexist.

The current Manchester was relying on these two methods to recover its power.

As for the former method, Isaac knew nothing about the specific Cultivation methods of Deities, so he had no way to approach it. The latter, however—Divine Authority—presented him with an opening.

Isaac’s first plan was to start with the Divine Authority. He would embed the wedge of a transaction ritual into Manchester’s Divine Authority, slowly establishing a connection, and then force the trade!

This method was technically demanding, requiring the ritual’s host to have a certain understanding of Divine Authority and the ability to locate Manchester’s.

The second method, in contrast, was much simpler and cruder: using brute force to overcome all obstacles!

He would use the Divine Spirit Book as a medium to draw upon all the Divine Power of his contracted Deities and brutally channel it through a Mad Witch transaction ritual!

He would forcibly batter down the gates of Manchester’s Divine Kingdom!

And then, make the trade.

It was hard to say which of the two methods was superior, as they were currently just ideas in Isaac’s head. Whether they would succeed was still unknown.

However, Isaac planned to try the first method first. The latter would risk exposing his Divine Spirit Book to the gazes of the gods prematurely. It was best to keep that thing hidden for a while, at least until it evolved into the Ten Thousand Gods Scripture.
