Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 437: Chapter 324: The Ultimate Spear and Shield — The Law-Breaking Swordsman

These two points were well within everyone’s expectations. Before, they were only speculation, but now, they were all but confirmed.

Isaac nodded thoughtfully, making some new adjustments to the Wizard’s Paths he had envisioned. Among them, referencing the experience of the Silver-robed Mage, the ones with the highest success rates were undoubtedly the Bloodline Mage and the Faith Wizard.

The Bloodline Mage path imitates the way of the Witch. It references Warlocks from the games and novels of his past life, who could draw Magic Power from their bloodlines. The difference is that a Bloodline Mage’s bloodline can be artificially shaped. For instance, one could gradually enhance their bloodline’s foundation by fusing the blood of different Demons. The greatest difficulties lay in bloodline fusion and figuring out how to draw Magic Power from it.

The Faith Wizard, on the other hand, was a Wizard’s Path Isaac conceived of only after his research into the Virtual Divinity had reached a certain point. Its essence was just one thing—Stealing God!

In the early stages, one could awaken their Magic Power by stealing a Deity’s Power of Faith. In the later stages, they would steal the Deity’s power entirely. This path’s upper limit was guaranteed to be at least Tier Six!

But staying alive was far from easy...

The early stages were too difficult to get through.

Moreover, how to ensure one wasn’t tainted by the Power of Faith while successfully awakening their Magic Power was still a problem.

’But the general direction is correct. The rest is just a matter of slow research. There’s no rush.’

As these thoughts ran through his mind, Isaac flipped through the parchment manuscript before him. It detailed the Silver-robed Mage’s entire research process regarding the Law-Breaking Swordsman, including the final results.

Not a single Wizard present showed any surprise at the Silver-robed Mage’s generous gesture. For High-tier Mages, this was perfectly normal.

No High-tier Mage would hoard their knowledge. The same applied to all of them.

’If knowledge wasn’t shared, there had to be some hidden restriction involved, like a Curse or something...’

’For example... the Mad Witch...’

The other Wizards were so afraid of communicating with Isaac precisely because the Knowledge of Outer Gods usually possessed a strong power of Erosion and corruption—and it was utterly vile!

And so, they neither wanted nor dared to touch it.

’Looking at the Silver-robed Mage’s research manuscript, Isaac glanced up at the man himself, who sat in the head seat, quietly waiting for everyone to finish reading. Isaac couldn’t help but sigh with admiration. ’This guy... he’s the real master of scheming!’’

Despite possessing such immense power, and despite researching the special factor within the bodies of Wilderness Humans, not a single whisper about him had spread to the outside world. He was completely silent.

If he hadn’t failed his breakthrough, he’d probably be like most of the people in this hall—no one would know where he was or what he was doing.

That’s right. Most of the Wizards in this meeting hall hadn’t established a Magic City. As soon as they arrived at this Wilderness Dungeon—apart from the few who wanted to complete the Trial to advance to Tier Five—most had simply found a place to hole up, waiting for the Great Creation known as the Endless Tower to close.

After a moment, Isaac was the first to put down the manuscript, drawing the Silver-robed Mage’s attention. But after seeing the faint glow in Isaac’s eyes fade, the Mage looked away. Mastering the [Analysis] Authority truly made one’s efficiency in learning and research much higher.

Isaac put down the manuscript, lost in thought. He now had a much deeper understanding of the Law-Breaking Swordsman. The principle behind this Extraordinary path wasn’t complicated; it was similar to the method he’d seen before of condensing the special factor into a Demon-Breaking Weapon.

The difference, however, was that the other person had merely guided the special factor out, then had his subjects embark on a conventional Path of the Extraordinary—be it as a Knight, a Wizard, or a Warrior. That path was ultimately doomed to fail.

This was because as the special factor accumulated, the increasingly powerful Demon-Breaking Weapon would eventually create a backlash, nullifying their Extraordinary Power.

The Silver-robed Mage’s method, however, was far more ingenious. Instead of ”blocking” the effect like with Anti-Magic, he chose to ”channel” it, as seen in the Law-Breaking Swordsman. Though it also involved condensing the special factor into a Demon-Breaking Weapon, the Law-Breaking Swordsman’s method was much more subtle. It treated the special factor as a form of Extraordinary Power, allowing it to gather within the body into an energy akin to Battle Qi or Magic Power. By concentrating this energy into a single point, it lifts the suppression on the body, allowing one to embark on the Path of the Extraordinary.

The ingenuity of this method lay in its self-perpetuating cycle—

Once the special factor was condensed, the body’s limitations were lifted, and its physical strength would skyrocket. Training accelerated this process. As the body became Extraordinary, it would provoke a backlash from the world’s laws, causing the special factor to increase. As the special factor increased, physical strength would become even greater...

Through this repeating cycle, a Law-Breaking Swordsman could grow to Tier Four with astonishing speed!

The path is similar to that of a Knight, but the Cultivation speed is much faster. The price, however, is that a Law-Breaking Swordsman’s methods are far more limited. Their physical strength is their only high attribute, and the only Authority they awaken is [Physical Enhancement]. Their one redeeming quality is the unique ability granted by the special factor—Breaking Law!

Before Tier Three, they merely possess strong Anti-Magic and magic resistance capabilities. Upon reaching Tier Three, this ability sublimates. The energy condensed from the special factor can expand to form a domain. Within this domain, all Extraordinary Power is suppressed!

In the most severe cases, it can completely nullify all Extraordinary Power!

Truly terrifying!

However, the limited methods weren’t the biggest problem with this Extraordinary path. After all, while their means were singular, the ultimate ability they wielded was immense. The greatest problem for a Law-Breaking Swordsman was their ceiling!

The special factor in their bodies had only been gathered; it hadn’t disappeared. Therefore, every Law-Breaking Swordsman possessed a fatal flaw, an Achilles’ heel!

No matter how powerful they became, that single spot remained as fragile as a mortal’s!

At the same time, this was the insurmountable chasm that blocked their path beyond Tier Four!

And yet, despite its numerous flaws and ultimate failure, Isaac could still perceive from the simple manuscript the series of challenges the Silver-robed Mage had faced during his research, and the powerful ability with which he had solved them one by one.

’At that moment, Isaac came to a conclusion in his heart: the Silver-robed Mage was stronger than him. Much, much stronger.’

...

This wasn’t an in-depth study, just a reading of a manuscript. Soon enough, the Wizards present finished reading one by one. After they finished, their reactions were identical to Isaac’s, their eyes filled with awe at the Silver-robed Mage’s capabilities.

”Finished?” The Silver-robed Mage glanced around. Seeing that no one was still looking down at their manuscript, he nodded and continued, ”Now for the second matter, the one you are most concerned with: the changes to the world!”

Everyone snapped to attention, their gazes fixed intently on the Silver-robed Mage. ’Finally, is the main event about to begin?!’
