Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 409: Chapter 298: The Prejudice in a Person’s Heart Is a Great Mountain

Apparently, She recognized Isaac.

This was to be expected. After all, it was a ritual to summon a True God, and he was only asking for a sliver of Divine Power. It wasn’t an excessive request, so there was naturally no need to hide his identity.

However, Isaac had expected the Mother Goddess, renowned for Her benevolence, to linger for a moment and ask what he intended to do with Her Divine Power.

After all, even if a mere sliver of Divine Power was nothing to a Deity, it was an extraordinary thing for a mortal. It couldn’t be treated lightly, especially the Divine Power of this particular Mother Goddess.

A long time ago, a Wizard had abused this Mother Goddess’s Divine Power, causing the entire population of a Kingdom—hundreds of thousands of people, men and women, young and old—to become pregnant!

It was absolutely terrifying!

Ever since then, the Mother Goddess had become reluctant to give out Her Divine Power. This was part of the reason Isaac hadn’t hidden his identity; after all, being secretive and suspicious wasn’t conducive to conversation.

What he hadn’t expected, however, was for the Mother Goddess to be so ”discriminatory” toward him. There was no room for communication at all. ’No matter how you look at it, I’m a Tier Four Wizard now, not exactly a mortal anymore. Isn’t this attitude a bit rude?’

He had to admit, getting the Divine Power without much effort was a plus, but this feeling of being despised...

It really didn’t feel great.

’So what if I’m a Mad Witch who scammed a few Outer Gods? From an alignment perspective, we’re still on the same side!’

’Seriously!’

’It’s not just the prejudices in human hearts that are like mountains; the prejudices in the hearts of Gods are mountains, too!’

He was starting to understand Brother Leopard a little.

Shaking his head, Isaac cast aside his jumbled thoughts. In any case, he had successfully obtained his objective. He just needed two more types of Divine Power before he could begin weaving a new Divinity.

After tidying up a bit, Isaac immediately began the second Deity Summoning. This time, however, he wasn’t as polite or formal. He casually set up the ritual and activated it.

”JYEH JYEH JYEH~ You insignificant mor—”

”Jyeh my ass! Get lost!” The moment the Divine Power was in his hands, Isaac couldn’t be bothered with the noisy chatter coming from the other side of the ritual. He collected the Divine Power and immediately severed the connection, giving the entity no chance to say much.

After all, the being on the other end was an Evil God—one who was rotten to the core. It surely wasn’t about to say anything good!

The Evil Bone God: ’...Dammit, the prejudice in human hearts truly is a mountain. All I wanted was to smuggle over a bit of Divine Power that makes bones grow wildly, create a little Sea of White Bone Undead, and kill a few people. That bastard on the other side cut me off just for that?’

’I feel so wronged!’

But Isaac would never understand this frustration, because he was already starting to summon the next stream of Divine Power.

The third stream of Divine Power also belonged to an Evil God. Its name was the God of True Spirit. It sounded like a True God, but in reality, it was just as rotten to the core. Rumor had it that Demons learned the art of contracts from this very entity.

So, just as before, Isaac didn’t bother with much conversation. He took the Divine Power and sent the god packing.

’As for whether an Outer God could ever turn over a new leaf?’

’Heh... A leopard can’t change its spots. A rotten orange is a rotten orange. Once an Evil God, always an Evil God!’

’Change? Impossible!’

It’s just like how Isaac can’t quit the path of a Mad Witch. Once you’ve tasted a shortcut, it’s hard to go back to walking the righteous path.

Returning to the matter at hand, after collecting the three streams of Divine Power, Isaac began to activate his Miracle Magic to weave the Virtual Divinity. He hadn’t spent all these years completely buried in experiments; he had been gathering the necessary materials on and off.

Moreover, after establishing the Underground Palace City, he had tasked Mephisto and the Fighting God with collecting and procuring related materials, so he currently had a sufficient supply.

In the basement, Isaac held a stream of Evil God Divine Power in each hand, while Demon Claw Harmon held the Divine Power of the Mother Goddess.

Under Isaac’s guidance, the three disparate streams of Divine Power began to slowly converge, then break down, and then reconstruct...

Isaac fused the similar and complementary aspects, while completely dismantling the mutually repulsive or useless parts to serve as nutrients for the new Divine Power, fostering the birth of the new Divinity.

That’s right—this time, Isaac was bold enough to fuse the Divine Power of one True God with the Divine Power of two Evil Gods!

Although many ”heretical” Wizard records claimed that True Gods and Evil Gods were the same in essence—both being Gods who had simply chosen different paths.

In reality, the difference between them was enormous!

For example, the cruelty of Outer Gods stemmed partly from their own enjoyment of it, but it was also guided by their Divinity.

The Divine Power and Divinity of True Gods belong to the side of order. Therefore, they naturally abide by all sorts of rules. Even if the rules are as strict as those of the Real World, they will obey them to the greatest extent possible. This is the influence of their Divinity on their behavior.

The Divine Power and Divinity of Outer Gods, on the other hand, belong to the side of chaos. Compared to obeying rules, they are more inclined to break them!

Once one becomes an Outer God, it becomes very difficult to follow rules.

Of course, the rules of the Gate of Legends don’t count.

That’s not about obeying rules; it’s about being unable to win a fight. It’s different.

Therefore, for Isaac to be fusing one stream of order-aligned Divine Power with two streams of chaos-aligned Divine Power—and for the newly born Divine Power to be on the side of order—was an incredibly unbelievable feat!

However, Isaac himself was rather oblivious to how heaven-defying this was. He just thought this combination would produce a better effect!

And so he did it.

The reason for this was mainly because shortly after advancing to Tier Four, Isaac had entered the Endless Tower. He didn’t know much about the knowledge and methods of Tier Four.

He only knew that his Miracle Magic·God Sealing was very special, very powerful, and very terrifying!

But he had no idea just how absurd its methods truly were...

...

Soon, with the blessing of Isaac’s Golden Finger, the weaving of the Divinity was completed smoothly once again. As Divine Fragments flowed in like water, a Crystal Stone shaped like a pair of pale, clasped hands appeared before Isaac.

God Name·Mother Goddess

Divine Power: Nurturing, Growth, Time

Divine Authority: Fertility

Isaac broke into a satisfied smile after learning about the Authorities of this Virtual Divinity.

This was a Deity primarily focused on support abilities. Although its Divine Power included the seemingly high-end Time Divine Power, its combat strength was nothing special because it was only Tier Four, with a maximum potential of Tier Four. Its main purpose was still support.

It was the same old saying: while your mechanics are powerful, your stats are just too average.

Even so, Isaac was very satisfied!

Firstly, this was exactly the Virtual Divinity he needed. Suitability was always better than raw power.

Secondly, this represented another improvement in Isaac’s skills. Compared to his crude initial methods, where he could only gamble on the effects of the Divinity, his current abilities were undoubtedly far superior!

He could even DIY them now. Would he ever be short of powerful Virtual Divinities in the future?

”CRACK CRACK~”

Grabbing the Virtual Divinity in one hand, Isaac cracked his neck and revealed a comfortable smile.

Then, with a flash, Isaac appeared before a busy Mephisto.

”Divine Master!”

Mephisto, who was in the middle of creating Divine Fragments, immediately stopped what he was doing and bowed respectfully upon seeing Isaac.

”At ease. I’ve come to you this time to give you all a new companion. Gather the women of the city to welcome her.”

”A companion?” Mephisto froze for a moment, then realized what Isaac meant. Instantly overjoyed, he nodded vigorously, and a somewhat frenzied Divine Thought spread out, relaying the command.

This scene left Isaac dumbfounded. He knew Mephisto had plenty of Human Nature, but he didn’t realize it made him so... inhuman.

’Dude, aren’t you afraid of someone coming to compete for power?’

Isaac looked at Mephisto with a sense of wonder. For some reason, he had a feeling that this guy, Mephisto, might never be corrupted by the Erosion of Divinity. From the looks of it, when it came to being ”noble, brilliant, and righteous,” the purity of his Divinity seemed a bit... lacking.
