Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 402: Chapter 295: Deity Assembly Line

In the end, Isaac decided not to bother with the Staff of Deformation, leaving it with Jörmungandr. After all, he had to show the man some respect.

If the Staff of Deformation had perfectly housed the power of the Virtual Divinity and used Human Nature to devour Divinity, then no matter how special or coincidental its situation, Isaac would have fought Jörmungandr to the bitter end to take it back.

Because no matter how special or coincidental its situation was, with Isaac’s Golden Finger, success would have been one hundred percent guaranteed.

The only difference would have been a matter of cost-effectiveness.

Unfortunately, the Staff of Deformation’s situation was not only special, but also harbored a great hidden danger. With his current knowledge, Isaac had no idea how to resolve the issue. Therefore, it was useless to him.

In that case, it was better to do Jörmungandr a favor.

A favor owed by a veteran Wizard like him was quite valuable.

This might be an Extraordinary World where power is paramount, but social connections were also crucial. They were even more so when you weren’t yet invincible.

And that was precisely what Isaac lacked. He had leveled up so quickly that he had no friends at his own Level, let alone mere acquaintances he could nod to in passing. He knew no one.

Jörmungandr, on the other hand, was different. As a veteran Tier Four Mage, one who was on the verge of ascending to Tier Five and had lived for who knew how many years, he was an old monster with an undoubtedly powerful network of contacts.

There were many benefits for Isaac in getting on his good side.

The only downside was that the man refused to engage in any academic exchange with him!

’Prejudice really is a mountain in the hearts of men. To think he’d refuse to exchange knowledge with me just because I make deals with Outer Gods and enslave Deities... This world is just...’

”Sigh... It’s all just Knowledge, so why is there still discrimination?” Isaac sighed, then returned to the Underground Palace City with the Master of Blood.

Just as he had left, Isaac returned without attracting any attention. He quietly led the Master of Blood back to a basement in the Underground Palace City and began to take stock of his recent gains.

First and foremost was the successful creation of the derivative Magic, Miracle Domination. The next priority was to create another Divine Servant Demon. Although a Divine Servant Demon had almost no autonomy and could only provide support in battle, that was exactly what Isaac, newly promoted to Tier Four, needed.

Secondly, he needed to forge another True God for the Underground Palace City. This time, he couldn’t be as casual as before. This True God’s domain had to be related to Reproduction and Nurturing.

The population of the Underground Palace City had already reached its limit, but this was foreseeably a temporary situation. Once they integrated the current populace and established a proper system of governance, expansion was inevitable.

A faction’s expansion couldn’t rely solely on absorbing outsiders. While that method was fast, it had significant drawbacks. Besides, competition was fierce now; the humans of the Wilderness would be all snatched up sooner or later.

Therefore, he had to start preparing for matters related to Reproduction ahead of time.

The world of the Wilderness Dungeon itself possessed a similar ability, which was how humanity had avoided extinction in such a harsh environment. However, even if it existed, it was surely just a fail-safe, only guaranteeing that the human race wouldn’t be completely wiped out.

It couldn’t guarantee that humanity would thrive and multiply.

Isaac even suspected that there might be some kind of law in this world suppressing human reproduction. He had observed the humans here and discovered their conception rates were pitifully low.

Despite such a high frequency of... activity, very few pregnancies resulted.

That wasn’t normal!

So Isaac prepared to create a relevant Deity for them, to give them a little blessing.

Furthermore, a Deity of Nurturing alone was clearly not enough. He needed a Deity of growth as well. That way, he might be able to rapidly produce more Soldiers.

Besides those two, they needed many, many more Deities. However, Isaac had no intention of creating all of them. For one, it was too much work. For another, there was nothing in it for him.

Besides, he preferred the ”teach a man to fish” approach over the ”give a man a fish” one—

—which meant bringing the God Sealing Ceremony from the Real World, the one capable of creating a Virtual Divinity, into this world and turning it into one of this world’s Miracles!

This would also be a perfect opportunity to familiarize himself with Miracle Magic and compare the differences between establishing a Miracle in a Little World versus in the Real World.

But those were all matters for later. For now... ’While the Master of Blood is still here, I might as well test out a new method for creating Divine Fragments!’

The Divine Fragment was one of Isaac’s earlier, more high-end research achievements. Although the things were useless, their conceptually high status had allowed Isaac to secure several hefty investments, which had helped him out considerably.

But that was the extent of it. Divine Fragments only sounded impressive; in reality, they were useless as shit.

Isaac had even tried using them as ritual offerings to the Outer Gods, but because the fragments were so... well, fragmented, not a single Outer God was interested in them.

They couldn’t even be used as fodder for his Golden Finger.

They were utter garbage. Their only use was as snacks for Shushu to munch on.

Consequently, Isaac never researched them further. He simply cast the idea aside, occasionally making a few as treats for Shushu. That is, until...

The appearance of Miracle Magic·God Sealing!
