Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 281: Chapter 215: Liu Li’s True Form

After watching the battle between Liu Li and the High-level Earth Elemental Spirit for a moment, Isaac turned to Shushu on his shoulder. He poked the little creature with a finger and said with a smile, ”Wanna go play?”

”Squeak squeak~” Shushu stood up on its hind legs on Isaac’s shoulder, clasping its front paws in a humanlike, thoughtful pose. Then, it nodded excitedly, leaped from Isaac’s shoulder, and charged toward a High-level Earth Elemental Spirit!

Divine Power surged!

A giant green duck neck... oh wait, no, a mouse head flashed past!

Layers of bone condensed from the Void, wrapping around Shushu layer by layer. Countless bone claws and weapons shot toward the Earth Elemental Spirit!

It could only use Skeleton Magic, as other forms of Necromancy Magic were ineffective against a Demon like the Earth Elemental Spirit.

But...

BANG!

Just as Shushu and its mass of bones reached a High-level Earth Elemental Spirit, the creature swatted it away with a casual backhand. The immense force instantly scattered the bones Shushu had just conjured!

Fortunately, thanks to its small size, Shushu absorbed less of the impact and wasn’t seriously injured.

However...

Isaac looked at Shushu, who had buried its head deep in his chest, and said helplessly, ”Challenging a High-level Earth Elemental Spirit head-on... You’ve got more guts than me~”

After all, while Shushu had also advanced to Tier Two, it was nowhere near as powerful as Isaac had been at that stage. And even back then, Isaac wouldn’t have dared to take on High-Level Elemental Spirits, regardless of their element.

Because such Demons were incredibly troublesome to deal with, no matter their element!

Hearing this, Shushu buried its head even deeper.

Isaac chuckled and casually placed Shushu back on his shoulder. Then, he pointed a finger at the remaining five High-level Earth Elemental Spirits. A profound fluctuation of Magic Power flashed by, and the five spirits were rendered completely immobile!

’Authority Magic: Arrogant Turtle!’

Compared to Privileged Magic: Desperate Rabbit, which was purely defensive, the power of Authority Magic was far stronger and more versatile. Take Arrogant Turtle, for instance. When used for defense, the power of the [Positive Infinitesimal] Authority would be unleashed to its near-absolute limit, forming a defensive barrier before Isaac that was like an impassable heavenly chasm!

When used to trap enemies, it created a barrier around them, just like it was doing to these five High-level Earth Elemental Spirits. That short distance had become a shore they could never reach in their lifetime!

If used to kill, it could even cause the Magic Power, blood, and even bodily functions within an opponent’s body to completely cease!

Of course, this was very difficult to achieve. Even with Authority Magic, this effect was only possible in a completely one-sided battle. Most of the time, Arrogant Turtle was an auxiliary Authority Magic.

After all, Authority Magic was merely a means to maximize the potential of one’s own Authority; it couldn’t grant you power you didn’t possess.

But even so, Authority Magic could be considered one of a High-level Mage’s strongest techniques.

’Too bad the [Positive Infinitesimal] Authority has no real offensive power,’ he thought. ’Otherwise, I might’ve been able to insta-kill these five High-level Earth Elemental Spirits. Well, probably.’

Still, it wouldn’t be hard for Isaac to kill them. He could just blast them with his Magic Cannon. Forget their current, weakened defenses after being afflicted by the Flesh Mutation’s Corruption—even a High-level Earth Elemental Spirit at its peak couldn’t take more than a few blasts. The [Profound] Concept from the Dimension World was no joke!

But Isaac didn’t do that. Instead, he once again pointed his finger from a distance. A red glow bloomed at his fingertip and shone upon one of the High-level Earth Elemental Spirits. Instantly, the mutation on its body began to accelerate!

What Isaac was using was an optimized version of Flesh Mutation. When stacked with the one cast by Demon Claw Harmon, the effect was clearly different. This was a good discovery, as not all Magic could be stacked with the effects of Magic cast by a Magic Pet.

At the same time, the faint glint in Isaac’s eyes never ceased. His [Analysis] Authority was collecting data on the Flesh Mutation, providing a basis for his future research into a Flesh Mutation Authority Magic. After all, using a High-level Demon as a test subject was a luxury one didn’t come across very often.

Of course, besides the rarity of the opportunity, there was another important reason why Isaac had suddenly immersed himself in his research: the battle between Liu Li and the other High-level Earth Elemental Spirit had reached its climax. In other words, Liu Li had dropped her disguise and was finally going all out!

So, although Isaac was curious about Liu Li’s fighting style, he averted his gaze. After all, from Liu Li’s perspective, she believed her true form was still well hidden.

’Since that’s the case, there’s no need for me to spoil her fun,’ he mused. ’It’s best to just pretend I don’t see anything right now.’

And just as expected, when Liu Li could no longer withstand the immense pressure from the High-level Earth Elemental Spirit and was forced to revert to her true form, the first thing she did was open an eye on the back of the fleshy tumor. When she saw Isaac intently observing the mutating High-level Earth Elemental Spirit, she breathed a heavy sigh of relief. After shooting a harsh glare at the staring Shushu, Liu Li closed the eye on the back of the tumor, and the massive single eye on the front glared viciously at the High-level Earth Elemental Spirit.

”CLANG!”

After parrying the flying longsword with its own Obsidian Longsword yet again, the swarthy High-level Earth Elemental Spirit frowned, a surprisingly humanlike expression on its rugged face. It wasn’t because of Liu Li’s suddenly distorted appearance.

As a Demon, even one that had lived its whole life in a Sub-plane, it had seen plenty of bizarre Demons. A fleshy tumor was nothing special.

What truly shocked it was that, in the instant Liu Li transformed, she had actually broken free of its [Gravity] Authority!

Of course, despite its shock, it didn’t remain idle. The power of its Authority surged once more, and an earth-yellow wave of Gravity pressed down on Liu Li. The ground beneath the fleshy tumor shattered to pieces!

But it was no use. The fleshy tumor that was Liu Li simply quivered, and the Gravity vanished again.

This time, before the spirit could react, the tumor dissolved into a fleshy sludge and lunged at the High-level Earth Elemental Spirit!

”Black Solid Stone Attack!”

Several black spikes shot out from its body, flying toward the fleshy tumor!

”SQUISH, SQUISH, SQUISH!”

However, the spikes plunged straight into the fleshy sludge and dissolved without a sound.

[Gravity]!

”VMMM!”

Unfortunately, Liu Li now seemed to possess some strange power. This time, when the Gravity fell upon the fleshy sludge, it had no effect at all.

And so...

the fleshy sludge simply enveloped the High-level Earth Elemental Spirit...

And then, that was it. Silently, without a sound, the High-level Earth Elemental Spirit rapidly dissolved within the sludge. A moment later, the sludge converged, reforming into the fleshy tumor, and from it, Liu Li’s figure emerged.
