Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 268: Chapter 205: Scolding? That Also Counts! Advancing to High-level Mage

Sure enough, as Isaac began his scavenging trip in the Mysterious Void, the Master of Billions of Flesh, who had been cursing up a storm, snapped to his senses. He instantly split his focus three ways. One part went to the Mysterious Void to stop Isaac’s scavenging—bah, his robbery. Another continued cursing Isaac; even though he knew it was useless, he had to at least get it out of his system.

As for the third, he went to check Isaac’s trade request. He was prepared to complete the deal as quickly as possible and send this plague god on his way!

After their previous two confrontations, the Master of Billions of Flesh had already figured out some of this madman’s personality. Beneath his seemingly crazy and greedy exterior, he was actually extremely cautious.

So cautious that if he decided he could retreat, he would do so without a moment’s hesitation.

And that was a safety line the Master of Billions of Flesh could not cross—at least not during the current ritual. His response, therefore, was to complete Isaac’s deal with all his might and then focus his energy on the Mysterious Void. That would force Isaac to retreat quickly.

Without a doubt, for an Outer God, this method was rather humiliating...

But he had no choice. Between face and power, he would always choose power. To hesitate for even a second would be a sign of disrespect to power itself!

Then...

The Master of Billions of Flesh fell silent...

”The method to merge the Powers of Faith of Legendary Mages, Deities, and Knights?”

’This... I don’t know how to do that either...’

After a brief silence, the Master of Billions of Flesh materialized a Magic Book in the center of the Ritual Array.

The Master of Billions of Flesh truly had no solution to this problem. After all, setting aside any difference in intelligence, his very identity was the issue. He was a Dimensional Demon God; he didn’t even have much need for Faith. As long as he managed his own Dimension, he could grow endlessly stronger. Why would he waste his time researching something like this?

Fortunately, he had lived long enough to have accumulated a great deal of Knowledge. The Magic Book contained research data on the ”path of three-in-one Faith.” To ensure the deal would be completed, he didn’t even bother with any probing this time, simply pouring out everything he knew.

Sure enough, the moment the Magic Book took form, the rules of the ritual informed him that the transaction was complete. He could now choose to terminate the ritual, or he could let it continue and launch a counterattack against Isaac.

The Master of Billions of Flesh was not that stupid, of course. Every additional second the ritual continued, he lost more power. How could he tolerate that?

So, the Master of Billions of Flesh immediately terminated the ritual, putting a stop to Isaac’s banditry!

’Anyway, I have a good idea of this guy’s true identity now. When the time comes, I’ll just attack him directly. Inside the ritual, constrained by the Ritual Power and the Gate of Legends, I’m no match for Isaac. But in the Real World...’

’Heh heh!’

”Tsk. He’s gotten decisive.” Isaac wasn’t surprised. ’An Outer God isn’t some NPC whose bugs I can easily exploit, so I didn’t have high hopes for this ritual in the first place.’

’Besides, I just made a huge score off the Master of Billions of Flesh, which has made me a bit pickier. Force-ripening another Dimension Fruit this time around doesn’t even interest me. After all, at this stage, the resources required for a Dimension to grow significantly are astronomical.’

So, for Isaac, this ritual was merely a formality. ’Of course, it’s also a chance to set a trap for Philo... or more accurately, the Terra Royal Family.’

’Although past experiments on the path of three-in-one Faith have produced poor results, its potential is undeniable. That’s why some Wizards are still researching it, even if there aren’t many of them.’

’But as for a Wizard on that path who is *also* a Mad Witch... right now, that’s only Philo!’

’And if Philo, one of the candidates for Demigod status recognized by the Terra Royal Family, were to be attacked by the Dimension Apostles or Believers of the Master of Billions of Flesh, then the Terra Royal Family would surely not stand idly by.’

’Taking it a step further, the Demigod Emperor of the Terra Empire would inevitably end up in a direct confrontation with the Master of Billions of Flesh!’

’Killing the Emperor with my own hands? That’s something I wouldn’t even dream of.’

’But if it’s just a matter of redirecting the hatred of a pile of Outer Gods toward the Emperor...’

’...then I’m pretty confident I can pull it off!’

’Of course, this is just a speculative play. It’d be great if it works, but it’s no big deal if it doesn’t. After all, Outer Gods aren’t that easy to fool. Besides, the more you do, the more mistakes you can make. If the Terra Royal Family ever found out about this, my future, and Solomon’s, would be grim.’

Profound Magic Power flowed from beneath Isaac’s feet like a tide, devouring the last remnants of the ritual. He then beckoned lightly with his hand, and the Magic Book left by the Master of Billions of Flesh—a book that radiated an eerie Magic Power—flew into his grasp.

He casually flipped open the Magic Book, a faint light glittering in his eyes. Using his [Analysis] Authority, Isaac quickly absorbed the entire book’s contents. He then stood in place for a moment, pondering, and decided to abandon his plan to trade it to Philo.

’For one, I need to copy this into my own Magic Book. Even though it probably wouldn’t matter if the information leaked, you can never be sure what kind of insidious tricks exist in this Magic World. It’s not worth the risk.’

’And for another...’

’I’ve discovered this thing is actually quite useful. Just from a quick skim, I already have a rough idea. I’m not sure how far one could go on the path of three-in-one Faith, but it can definitely get someone to Tier Three!’

’Even though I personally have no interest in the path of three-in-one Faith, there’s no reason to hand it over and empower a potential enemy.’
