Marvel: All My Incarnations Are S-Class Villainesses

Chapter 38: Chapter 38 Fury’s expression remained unchanged

At this, Reze pointed to herself: ”As for making me put in effort to solve supernatural incidents, that’s a separate price. There must be extra bonuses and overtime pay.”

Fury’s expression remained unchanged; money was the least of his problems: ”Reasonable. S.H.I.E.L.D. has World-class benefits and salary systems. As long as the job is done well, bonuses have no upper limit.”

Natasha’s forehead throbbed as she listened nearby.

S.H.I.E.L.D. has World-class benefits and salary systems?

As long as the job is done well, bonuses have no upper limit?

Really?

How come I didn’t know?

Am I a fake S.H.I.E.L.D. employee?

However, as a professional employee, Natasha didn’t expose him on the spot.

”That’s more like it.”

Reze nodded with satisfaction and folded down her second finger. ”Second, cancel all surveillance around my home. I don’t like having to worry about telephoto lenses outside my window when I’m showering, nor do I like being followed by a group of Agents when I go out to buy groceries.”

”No problem,” Fury agreed almost without hesitation. ”To show my sincerity, I will withdraw all field Agents immediately.”

Sumire gave a cold laugh from her bed.

Like I’d believe you, you old geezer is as wicked as they come.

Sumire didn’t believe for a second that this ’Fury’ could be as good as his word, but she hadn’t expected S.H.I.E.L.D. to completely let go anyway. As long as those eyesore flies were moved away and didn’t disturb her daily life, it would be fine.

Everyone understood this bit of unspoken rules.

”Third, and most importantly.”

Reze shook her last remaining finger: ”I need legal citizenship.”

”I need a clean identity, and...”

She leaned forward, staring intently at Fury’s single eye, revealing her true intent.

”Considering I might have many friends coming to visit, I want S.H.I.E.L.D. to grant me an authority—the ability to register legal citizenship for designated personnel at any time, bypassing all tedious screening processes.”

This was Sumire’s true goal.

There would only be more and more Incarnations; she couldn’t have a house full of illegal residents in the future, could she?

If she could get this authority, no matter who she summoned in the future, they could be directly legitimized and become ’root-and-branch’ Marvel natives.

However, this time, Fury did not agree immediately.

The one-eyed Director’s face darkened.

Getting Reze an identity was simple, just a few taps on a keyboard. But ”giving others legal identities at any time”?

The nature of the request had changed.

”I can fulfill the first two conditions immediately, and the first half of this third one is also no problem.”

Fury leaned back against the chair: ”Your identity, I can have someone process it for you tonight. However, the authority to register identities for others at any time, I cannot give.”

Hearing the refusal, Reze didn’t seem surprised; she just shrugged.

Sumire, hiding behind the scenes, naturally knew that Fury wouldn’t agree to such an outrageous request.

It was just a matter of asking for the moon and settling for the earth.

Being able to legitimize Reze’s identity was already the biggest victory. As for future Incarnations... she’d just find a reason to blackmail... ah, no, negotiate then.

One shouldn’t be too greedy; one must know when to stop while ahead.

”Tch, stingy.” Reze curled her lip and withdrew her finger. ”Fine, let’s leave it at that for now. We can talk about the rest later.”

Fury was silent for a few seconds before finally revealing that calculating smile again.

As long as there are desires, it’s easy to control.

What he feared most were the kind of lunatics who had no desires or needs.

”Deal. I’ll have Natasha send you the details of the cooperation later.”

Fury put his gun back into his coat.

”S.H.I.E.L.D. needs your strength. As for the price, as long as it’s within a reasonable range, S.H.I.E.L.D. can afford the bill and will never shortchange you. But you must also take note: since this is a cooperation, you must restrain yourself. You cannot kill or destroy at will.”

Reze naturally didn’t refuse. She had never killed or destroyed at will... it was always purposeful killing and destruction, not random at all.

With the cooperation established, both Natasha and Fury couldn’t help but breathe a long sigh of relief.

At least this time bomb was relatively easy to talk to.

Reze was also quite satisfied; getting paid without having to do anything.

The most important point was that this was just an ordinary human contract, not a devil’s contract. The various rules and regulations looked troublesome, but for a devil like her, whether to follow them or not was entirely up to her mood.

In the event that S.H.I.E.L.D. sent her to do some thankless, dirty, or tiring work.

Then Reze would simply— ”Not a mission I like, I refuse!”

She’d just bail; who cares about a contract.

Suddenly, as if remembering something, Fury continued to ask, though clearly not as concerned as before, just a casual inquiry: ”In addition, that Asian girl living in your apartment, Sumire.”

At the mention of this name, Natasha, who was beside him, also sat up straight.

Fury stared intently at Reze’s reaction, asking tentatively: ”Who is she? Is she also someone you know?”
