Chapter 248: Chapter 248: Difference in Strength

Hearing she could finally rest, Althea Coleman immediately brightened up.

”Thank you, Captain.”

Watching Althea Coleman walk toward the car, Chase Gallagher shook his head.

In their view, this was a sign that Althea Coleman was already out in Nina Jacobs’s book.

”Should we just kick her out?”

Holden Shaw appeared behind Nina Jacobs, knife in hand.

When Althea Coleman had managed to last three moves against him, it was partly due to her being clever.

He had thought that these were all people Nina Jacobs wanted to recruit, so he hadn’t pursued the matter.

”Having a ready-made bad example might not be such a bad thing, right?”

Wayne Abbott and the others had just been recruited. If they kicked someone out right now, it would inevitably cause some misunderstanding.

But if they could use this as a teaching moment, it might have an even better effect.

”That’s true. It’s your call.”

Holden Shaw nodded.

In their opinion, the spot Nina Jacobs had chosen was a natural training ground.

Zombies were constantly coming through the gate, and they didn’t have to worry about being attacked from behind.

They just had to be careful not to get hit by the Superpower Zombies outside the iron fence.

”Eleanor, you go rest too.”

Just then, Nina Jacobs noticed that Eleanor was clearly struggling; even the arm holding her weapon was trembling.

”Captain, I can hold on a little longer.”

It was a six-hour session, and it hadn’t even been three hours yet. Eleanor felt like she was dragging the team down.

Besides, the number of zombies was increasing.

”Safety is more important. There’s water over there. I’m giving you a 15-minute break.”

Hearing Nina Jacobs say this, Eleanor finally walked to the safe zone by the car.

Nina Jacobs had even specially prepared drinking water that they could take at any time.

For some reason, after drinking half a bottle of water, Eleanor felt much better.

Even her Superpower didn’t feel so strained anymore.

One after another, people on the field couldn’t hold on any longer and were called over by Nina Jacobs to take a temporary rest.

But as a result, more and more zombies gathered on the basketball court.

”Want to warm up?”

Nina Jacobs said to Wayne Warner beside her.

Wayne Warner had been protecting her the whole time and hadn’t really let loose to kill zombies yet.

”Mm.”

Wayne Warner nodded, then kicked a zombie’s head, smashing it to pieces.

This scene immediately made Warren Ramsey and the others’ eyes go wide.

”Are Strength Element Superpower Users really that formidable?”

Warren Ramsey said.

The zombies were like soft clay in front of Wayne Warner. Even for Superpower Zombies, their Superpowers were useless against his absolute defense.

However, what would shock them even more was yet to come.

Because there were so many zombies, the gate to the basketball court, which only allowed two people through at a time, was now packed with them.

There looked to be over two hundred of them.

No one dared to be careless.

Just as Wayne Abbott was about to ask if they should close the gate, the sky above was already filled with Flaming Arrows.

Like arrows loosed from a bow, the Flaming Arrows shot in unison toward the horde of zombies.

The Flaming Arrows had an extremely high hit rate, and many zombies had their heads pierced on the spot.

What surprised everyone even more was that the arrows didn’t extinguish after landing.

In just a few seconds, a vast sheet of flame erupted at the entrance.

The fire surrounded the zombies, forming a ring of flames.

Hundreds of zombies struggled within the ring of fire, some even lunging toward the court.

But even if a zombie managed to break out of the fiery circle, it would be consumed by the flames clinging to its body before it could get far.

”Ten minutes...”

Wayne Abbott murmured.

’A Superpower User actually killed hundreds of zombies in just ten minutes.’

ROAR!

One of the Water Element Zombies covered itself in a layer of water mist and charged toward Nina Jacobs.

But it was immediately entangled by a Fire Serpent coiling by Nina Jacobs’s side.

The Fire Serpent wrapped itself layer by layer around the Water Element Zombie. No matter how the zombie used its Water Ability, it was useless.

BOOM!

The Fire Serpent shot through the Water Element Zombie’s open mouth, and the zombie instantly went lifeless.

In contrast, Nina Jacobs just stood there quietly, controlling the Superpower flowing in her hands.

It was as if she still had endless energy to spare.

”So... a Fire Element Superpower can be this amazing.”

Elara Dolan said with immense excitement.

You have to remember, she had only killed a little over ten zombies all morning.

Wayne Abbott and the others were naturally a bit better than her, but Nina Jacobs compared to them...

The difference in their strength was like heaven and earth.

”The captain... she’s really incredible!”

Alaric Fletcher was now in complete and utter admiration.

”Those who have rested enough, continue.”

Nina Jacobs said coolly.

”Yes!”

A wave of impassioned voices rose up from the side.

No one complained about being tired anymore.

”If they saw your true strength, I wonder what the effect would be.”

Leo Hale had drunk a whole bottle of water.

Only they knew that Nina Jacobs’s strength went far beyond this.

”There aren’t as many zombies around here as I thought.”

Nina Jacobs was already considering whether she should have Holden Shaw or Chase Gallagher lure some more zombies over.

”A couple of days ago, a rescue team collected a batch of building materials around here,”

”They probably cleared some out then.”

Chase Gallagher said after hearing her.

Nina Jacobs nodded. It seemed this was all they could do for today.

However, on the way back in the afternoon, the group encountered an unexpected situation.

Far in the distance, a distress flare shot up into the sky.

It was followed by several more flares in quick succession.

”Who is that, with so many flares?”

Leo Hale and the others all saw it.

The flares seemed to be coming from the path they had to take.

You had to know, flares from the base weren’t cheap.

Whoever could use so many at once was probably a powerful team.

”There shouldn’t be any rescue teams coming to this area,”

”Shooting flares is useless.”

Chase Gallagher said.

”Should we help?”

Holden Shaw asked.

”We’ll see.”

Using her ”Five Senses Enhancement,” Nina Jacobs could hear that there were indeed a lot of zombies up ahead.

But if they took a detour, it would probably add three or four hours to their journey.

On an incredibly wide road.

A group of people huddled together, trembling, on top of a three-story building.

And not only were they surrounded by zombies.

From a distance, a steady stream of more zombies could be seen converging on them.

”Flares! Keep using the distress flares!”

Rafferty Miller shouted.

”They’re gone! We’ve used up all dozen or so flares!”

The Space Superpower User, Wystan Vance, standing in the very center, replied.

It’s been so long, and forget about rescue teams, not even a single other squad has shown up.

”How can there be so many zombies?”

”This road was fine when we came this morning.”

”Yeah, Crawford told us to go retrieve the supplies from the transit warehouse,”

”but he should have sent more people.”

someone lamented tearfully.

”Guess what? Why did Crawford have us load the important supplies onto the truck,”

”instead of putting them in the space?”

the Space Superpower User Wystan Vance said, his eyes vacant.

As soon as he spoke, everyone fell silent.

Perhaps no one cared about their lives at all.

Those supplies were more important than their lives...

”Someone’s here! Someone’s coming!”

A few minutes later, two vehicles appeared in their line of sight.

An SUV and a small bus.

”We’re saved! We can still be saved!”

Rafferty Miller waved excitedly at the two vehicles.

However, the two vehicles showed no intention of stopping.

”It’s the Crawford Army.”

Chase Gallagher knew at a glance.

”Then let’s just ignore them. Bye-bye now.”

Leo Hale couldn’t bear to leave people to die, but the Crawford Army was an exception.
