Chapter 438: Chapter 189: Xia Wuqie: How Do You Intend to Treat Feng’er? (3)

”The status of the mother rises with her child, both emotionally and logically, the mother of the prince should rightfully become the ruler of the harem, the Queen of Qin.”

”Now that our Qin has already conquered Zhao and Han, we just have to wait for this conquest of Wei to succeed. Three Jins will unite with Qin, and half the kingdom will belong to our Qin. In such a time of great joy, if the old ministers jointly submit a proposal to establish the queen to stabilize the state, I believe the Great King won’t find any reason to refuse.” Wang Wan said with a pleased expression on his aged face.

”But.”

”Will Father really nod in agreement?” Fusu sounded a bit doubtful.

”The plan is made by men.”

”The Great King has delayed this for so many years, now he must consider this matter.”

”The foundation of the nation must not be lost, and the nation cannot be without a queen.”

”About this matter, young master, rest assured.”

”The old minister has already made arrangements.” Wang Wan assured Fusu.

Seeing this.

Fusu also nodded: ”In that case, I leave it to you, Prime Minister Wang.”

”No need for such courtesy, young master.”

”The old minister and others assist the young master to see that one day you become Crown Prince, and eventually King of Qin.”

”Of course.”

”The old minister might not see the day you ascend to the throne, but I hope in the future the young master will not forget the old minister’s effort, and just take care of the old minister’s family a little.”

Wang Wan stood up and bowed to Fusu.

Fusu quickly stood up as well and helped Wang Wan up.

”The debt of support from Prime Minister Wang, Fusu will never forget,” Fusu said solemnly.

Hearing Fusu’s statement, Wang Wan felt a sense of relief.

The reason for his effort in supporting Fusu was first, Fusu is the Eldest Imperial Son, and second, Fusu is righteous and virtuous, always repaying kindness, so with his support, the power and wealth of the Wang Family in the future would be assured.

”Young master.”

”Xia Wuqie has returned.” Wang Wan suddenly said.

”Wasn’t Doctor Xia traveling?”

”Now he has actually returned.” Fusu was quite calm.

”Young master, did you not understand the old minister’s meaning?” Wang Wan smiled.

”What do you mean?” Fusu looked puzzled.

”In the Great King’s court, Xia Wuqie holds no small position; a single word from him can outweigh the words of countless civil and military officials.”

”If you can win Xia Wuqie’s favor and gain his approval, your future position as Crown Prince can be secured.” Wang Wan seriously said.

Fusu was taken aback and said in astonishment, ”He is just a great physician, yet can influence the position of Crown Prince?”

”This great physician is not ordinary at all.” Wang Wan said with a bit of emotion.

”I do not know much about Xia Wuqie, just that his medical skills are outstanding.”

”Beyond that, I know nothing else.” Fusu said.

”The old minister will tell the young master something, the young master must not spread this, otherwise it will certainly incur the Great King’s wrath, and could even ruin the young master.”

”This matter, consider it as the old minister giving the young master a warning. This is the Great King’s reverse scale.” Wang Wan suddenly said very seriously.

Obviously.

Regarding this matter.

Even though so many years have passed, whenever Wang Wan recalls it, he feels a profound shock.

Back then, that bloody massacre in the Royal Palace, that sweeping slaughter across the Royal Palace.

Even afterwards.

When the Great King personally ruled and executed a massacre of thousands, it was all vivid in Wang Wan’s mind.

”Could it be that Father’s reverse scale is related to this Doctor Xia Wuqie?” Fusu’s expression also turned surprised.

”If it weren’t for that bloody massacre in the Royal Palace back then.”

”Xia Wuqie could probably have become Qin’s Guo Zhang Da Ren.” Wang Wan slowly narrated.

”What?”

”Guo Zhang?”

Fusu was also stunned, completely not expecting this.

After a long while.

Fusu finally came back to his senses and asked with confusion, ”But there is no Madam with the surname Xia in the palace, could she have passed away?”

”But I’ve never heard of any Madam in the palace passing away, could it have been before I was born?”

Seeing Fusu’s confusion, Wang Wan shook his head: ”It is different.”

”When the previous Tai Hou returned to Qin, the late King had not yet ascended, and at that time, the Great King was already ten years old, and still the eldest son.”

”Or perhaps, because of the saying ’the status of the mother rises with her child.’”

”Although Xia Wuqie’s daughter had a deep affection with the Great King, ultimately she had no offspring nor a maternal family to rely on. Although Xia Wuqie was a great physician, in the end, he was just a physician, without power or influence, how could he protect her?”

Fusu nodded and asked again, ”What happened to Doctor Xia’s daughter in the end?”

”Couldn’t even Father protect her?”

In his heart, Fusu was actually doubtful about this last sentence.

His Father was so authoritative, so strategic.

In Fusu’s eyes, there was almost nothing in this world that could trouble his Father.

”Young master.”

”If it were the current Great King, naturally he could protect her.”

”But back then, when the Great King first ascended, he was only thirteen.”

”In the end, he was still just a young boy, how could he protect her?” Wang Wan shook his head.

”So, Doctor Xia’s daughter died?” Fusu was shocked to his core.

”Yes.”

Wang Wan nodded heavily: ”She died in that bloody massacre in the palace back then.”

”Who was so bold? To dare commit a massacre in the Royal Palace?”

”And who dared to do it?”

”Once in action, it was a path to death.”
