My Youth Began With Him

When Huo Mian arrived at the coffee shop, she saw Song Yishi sitting by the window on the second floor.

It was a cold winter, but she only wore a black woolen coat, a pair of skinny jeans, and low-heeled shoes.

Song Yishi was a stylish woman. She lived in Italy for many years and was a painter, so she was really good at dressing herself up.

Huo Mian wouldn’t choose to dress herself up over warmth, so she had a few warm parkas.

Today she wore a white, cute parka with cartoon patterns on it, a clear contrast to Song Yishi’s black outfit...

”Sorry, the traffic was bad. Am I late?” Huo Mian took a while to leave the house and she didn’t drive very fast either. She wanted Song Yishi to wait longer.

She didn’t expect this woman to be so patient. Song Yishi gave her an elegant smile. ”No problem, I understand.”

”Do you want anything? I will order it for you.”

”Hot latte.” Huo Mian nodded casually.

”Waiter, one hot latte. Thanks.” Song Yishi waved at the waiter, smiling.

She was pretty, so she always caught a lot of eyes wherever she went.

The people sitting at the nearby tables often looked over at them, whispering.

”What did you want to talk to me about, Miss Song?” Huo Mian took off her parka and put it on the chair behind her.

Then, she looked at Song Yishi, who was sitting across from her. Huo Mian had a smile on her face, but her words were sharp.

”Huo Mian, you don’t have to be so polite. You can call me Yishi. It sounds weird when you call me Miss Song…”

”I feel like I’m not that close to you, plus I’m used to calling you Miss Song.”

Huo Mian didn’t feel like she needed to be a hypocrite and pretend to be friends with this woman, who was her romantic rival.

”Okay, as long as you are comfortable.” Song Yishi had a good temper.

She wasn’t like Jiang Linyue who loathed Huo Mian outwardly, nor like Liu Siying who was obvious with her love for Qin Chu.

She kept herself within range and controlled her feelings well, never too forward nor too mild.

She was elegant and polite to everyone. Her words never incited anger out of anyone.

Many people said that Song Yishi grew up in an upper-class family, and that was why she had such good manners.

Actually, that was not the case. Huo Mian felt that women like her were the most dangerous. She could be your friend one minute but throw you under the bus the next, without a second thought.

So even if Song Yishi didn’t try to steal Qin Chu, Huo Mian still didn’t plan on being friendly with a woman like her.

She was good at analyzing people, and she knew Song Yishi wasn’t a kind woman.

She was different from Jiang Xiaowei. Although Jiang Xiaowei was smart, arrogant, and despotic, she was magnanimous and always straightforward.

If she liked you, she would show you. If she didn’t, she wouldn’t even look at you.

But Song Yishi was different. She wouldn’t express her love or hate towards you, which was scariest because you will never know when she planned to harm you. That’s why Huo Mian always stayed on her toes, but it was exhausting.

”Didn’t you want to talk to me about Qin Chu? Shoot. I’m very interested in anything about my husband,” Huo Mian slowly said asked while stirring her coffee with a spoon.

”Huo Mian, to be honest with you, the woman in the picture that the news exposed today… was me,” Song Yishi said slowly as she looked at Huo Mian.
