My Youth Began With Him

”Ya, nobody thought it would turn out like this. Both Wei Liao and I think that Su Yu was framed... someone set him up for this.”

Huo Mian remained silent...

”But there’s one thing we didn’t understand, what happened to him during the ten minutes he disappeared, and how come he had never spoken a single word about it? What was so important that he would rather be framed than tell the truth? The public’s opinion is going against him right now, and even if Su Yu came from a super wealthy family and was the grandson of Commander Su, it will be hard for him to get away this time. The opinion of our higher-ups is to convict him if the evidence is irrefutable and he can’t prove himself innocent. It will then depend on the skills of Su Yu’s lawyer if he is convicted of this crime or not in the end.”

”It’s this serious?” Huo Mian asked worriedly.

”Of course, what did you think it was? This is concerning a life here... And every citizen is following the progress. I heard that even the province officials are following up with this case since it’s gotten so big now because of the media and the public.”

Huo Mian went silent again...

”How come you stopped talking? Huo Mian?”

”Nothing, I’m just feeling slightly uncomfortable.”

”Oh… If you have time, I hope that you could go talk to Su Yu... I think he will listen to you and tell us where he went during that time. Then he will have no relation with this case anymore.”

”I’ll think about it.”

Huo Mian hung up the phone and felt depressed...

”Honey, what do you want for dinner?” Qin Chu asked in a usual tone, seeming like he hadn’t been following up with Su Yu’s case.

”Anything is fine, I’m not that hungry.”

”Then I’ll cook some seafood for you?” Qin Chu’s voice was gentle.

”That’s all good, I’ll let you decide.”

Huo Mian tucked away her phone as she walked towards the window side and stared out blankly.

Should she go and talk to Su Yu?

But the Police Station had been surrounded by the media, and if she went... it’ll be impossible to explain if misunderstandings happen.

Gao Ran poured a cup of coffee and placed it in front of Su Yu.

Su Yu didn’t move nor did he lift his head up to look at Gao Ran.

”Young Master Su... Even though I’m Qin Chu’s friend and I know your feelings towards Huo Mian... I don’t have any biased opinions against you personally, and I’m just a police officer doing his job.”

”I know that.” Su Yu lifted his head up and looked at Gao Ran.

”I actually don’t believe that you have anything to do with this, I rather think that you were framed... Because with your high status in society, you don’t have to push an unrelated woman off a building. You were behind the Zhao Qingya incident and it would make sense if her sister wanted to frame you.”

”What are you really trying to say?” Su Yu could tell that Gao Ran wasn’t getting straight to his point.

”I just want to ask you one thing. The surveillance showed that you disappeared from 8:08 PM to 8:20 PM. Where were you during that time? Who did you see or who were you with? Why are you not willing to speak about it?”

”That’s my privacy.”

”Even if you are going to be sued for homicide? You’re still unwilling to tell us?” Gao Ran questioned him coldly.

”No, I don’t want to.” Su Yu leaned back against his chair, sounding relaxed.

Since he had decided to not speak about it in the beginning, then he will remain silent until the end. He didn’t want to prove himself innocent by letting others know that Huo Mian had come to see him in secret.

Since that would have a huge negative effect on Huo Mian’s reputation...

Who knows how the media will write it as?

Think about it, the Young Madam of GK came to his mansion late at night and met him in private.

Who would believe that nothing happened between the two?

He’s a man and he can withstand the pressure, but what about Huo Mian?

She had always been alone and had no backup, and she even had a history of being framed for what she had not done. If this scandal broke out, then it would be hard for her to prove her innocence.

”I really don’t understand why you’re doing this.” Gao Ran looked at Su Yu puzzled.

”I don’t need to explain myself for what I’m doing.”

”You know that if you’re not willing to tell us, then we’ll have to convict you for homicide?”

”Whatever.” Su Yu spread his hands apart, seeming like he didn’t care about what was going to happen.

The same afternoon, Su Yu’s lawyer came to the City Police Bureau.

He came from Jing City and was one of the top lawyers in the country; apparently, he was directly appointed by Commander Su to work on this case.

”Young Master Su, your lawyer is here.” Although Su Yu was taken as a suspect, the police officers still treated him with respect.

Su Yu looked up as he saw his lawyer, with a head full of white hair, walk in.
