Global Lords: I Have Information System

Chapter 650: Chapter 434: Frosty Winter Hunter, Hunting the Yeti

The Frosty Snow Beast was like a wild beast trapped in a fatal trap, powerless to reverse its fate.

In such a situation, its Life Value quickly dropped below 30%, triggering the Snow’s Pet effect, but unfortunately, it still couldn’t change its destiny.

Just two minutes later, when Zong Shen thrust the trident into the creature’s face.

He took away its remaining Life Value and completely ended its short life.

[You have killed Frosty Snow Beast LV40]

[Acquired Experience Value 4860, acquired Challenge Points 1000 points]

”Done.”

Zong Shen sighed in relief, watching the snow beast’s corpse gradually merge into part of the ice and snow.

This protruding snow mound was like the tomb of the Frosty Snow Beast, standing alone in the icy world.

On the ground, there were at least over three hundred arrows and crossbow arrows scattered around.

These arrows, in the process of striking against the ice layer and the beast’s fur, showed obvious magic wear.

During the battle just now, there was also a Dragonized Spear and Shield Warrior who got accidentally injured.

Fortunately, the damage wasn’t too severe. Additionally, their long spears and square shields lost some Durability.

From the initial encounter to its eventual demise, it took about twelve minutes.

For this efficiency, Zong Shen wasn’t very satisfied.

Considering the time spent in transit, eliminating just one snow beast took nearly half an hour.

The mistake during the entire operation actually happened in his part of the process.

The timing of his and the Dragonized Spear and Shield Warrior’s involvement was not very appropriate.

Actually, they should have let the ranged group continue to harass it a bit more.

Moreover, with Wenresa as the driver of the Burden-Bearer Mecha, it indirectly reduced some output efficiency.

Zong Shen stood on the spot, looking at the large snow mound, beginning to reflect on his actions.

Wenresa drove the Burden-Bearer Mecha back, collecting all the arrows that could be conveniently retrieved.

As for other dropped or severely damaged ones along the way, they were set aside for recovery.

”Katis, you take over from Wenresa to drive the Burden-Bearer Mecha.”

”Just like earlier, maintain a distance of one hundred to one hundred fifty meters.”

”Take the Frosty Snow Beast on a stroll at a consistent speed, allowing the ranged warriors to keep up continuous output.”

”Wenresa, join the output team as well.”

”Everyone else remains unchanged.”

Zong Shen reorganized the hunting team based on this battle’s outcome.

In this cold climate, as time goes on, the warriors’ condition will gradually decline.

So he must cherish every moment.

Wenresa quickly cleaned up the battlefield and without hesitation, jumped into the cargo hold.

The rear compartment was still spacious, with over twenty ranged warriors gathered above, snowflakes falling rapidly melted by everyone’s body heat and exhaled warmth.

The cargo hold was damp, as if they had been showered by a light rain.

Katis, after bowing, carried the battle shield and long spear to the driver’s seat.

Everyone got ready again, and Zong Shen also returned to the driver’s seat.

He piloted the Burden-Bearer Mecha and headed west.

Not even two kilometers from there, there was another snow beast.

Initially, that snow beast was moving westward, but now its attention had shifted.

It began moving quickly towards where Zong Shen and others were located.

Clearly, the Frosty Snow Beast also had its own unique attraction mechanism.

They will prioritize attacking the closest attraction targets.

With the Golden Circle Mark’s dynamic indication, Zong Shen could precisely determine its location.

Moving towards each other, they soon met on a clearing to the west.

Then, a fierce battle erupted.

This time, the ranged group still initiated to draw the snow beast’s Hate Value.

They started the kiting mode, then the ranged group along with Luna continued to wear it down.

However, there was a minor hiccup in between, as the Frosty Snow Beast managed to cast a spell during an opening.

Two Ice Arrows were shot towards the Burden-Bearer Mecha of the ranged group.

Katis, relying on the Burden-Bearer’s mobility, dodged one of them.

But the other hit the rear flap of the cargo hold.

This caused severe deformation of the rear compartment flap and a damage of -287 Durability Value points.

At the same time, the Durability dropped by 23 points, becoming 842 points.

Fortunately, the hit didn’t damage the main body of the Burden-Bearer Mecha or the drive parts of the side tracks.

After the Frosty Winter Challenge is over, it needs to be repaired by the Dwarf Uncle.

According to Earth’s saying, this is called panel beating.

This time, the ranged team spent about five minutes reducing half of the snow beast’s Life Value and completely shattering its Ice Armor.

Wenresa’s addition greatly increased output damage.

Not only did she cause higher damage per shot, but her archery was more skillful, and the frequency of her shots was also faster.

This is one of the advantages of the archer compared to the crossbowman; a skilled archer often has stronger output efficiency, while the crossbowman, due to the trigger mechanism’s limitation, finds it hard to increase firing rate.

The pros and cons can only be seen from different perspectives of wisdom and experience.

At least, from the ease of handling perspective, a crossbow is indeed easier to master than a bow.

This is also why Zong Shen never equipped bows.

Instead, he opted to carry a crossbow on him.

After the Ice Armor on the snow beast shattered, Zong Shen and his team moved in.

Zong Shen didn’t need to use any valuable enhancement skills.

Just with ordinary attacks, each hit could deal around 200 damage to the snow beast.

In such a situation, they eliminated the second Frosty Snow Beast in just 8 minutes.

Including travel time, it only took about ten minutes.

...

Over two hours later, the sky grew increasingly dim.

Zong Shen and his team parked the two Burden-Bearer Mechas against the wind, forming a cone-shaped windbreak.

In between, they placed two Magic Energy Thermal Balls, generating a warm force field.

Everyone stood together, conducting a temporary rest.

The giant wolves huddled together, keeping each other warm as a group.

Under the effect of the Heat Balls, the ground’s ice layer began to melt.

After over two hours of battle, everyone’s state deteriorated rapidly.

The relatively weaker shooters and mages began showing signs of hypothermia.

Even Zong Shen felt a bit uncomfortable due to the cold.

It proves that regardless of how good the warming measures are, it’s impossible to roam the ice and snow recklessly for long periods.

After all, they weren’t part of the Ice and Snow Race or Elemental Species.

Traveling and fighting in the cold wind, body heat gradually dissipates.

The warming measures can only reduce the speed of heat loss.

So they must undergo an emergency rest.

The Magic Energy Thermal Ball’s advantage fully manifested at this time.

With its portability, rapid heating, and a considerable range of warmth.

Using the Burden-Bearer Mecha to block the cold wind established a temporary rest camp.

Besides the Heat Ball, Zong Shen also brought out the previously prepared cured meat.

These cured meats were all fatty and lean, which he specially selected.

In Frosty Winter, where heat loss is fast, everyone’s Hunger Level drops particularly fast, making it very easy to get hungry.

At this point, it becomes necessary to supplement with some meat, especially those with fat, to quickly provide the body with heat.

Zong Shen hung these cured meats near the Heat Ball.

Slightly heated them before sharing with everyone.

Zong Shen himself also ate a large piece.

These cured meats didn’t have much taste, only intense saltiness.

Making them taste so salty that they were almost bitter.

The salt level, according to Earth’s experts, makes it very easy to develop high blood pressure.

However, this is the Otherworld, where warriors have a higher tolerance than ordinary people.

Also, these cured meats are simply preserved products, hard to compare with the diverse range of cured and smoked products on Earth. Zong Shen took out several barrels of reserved purified water for everyone to quench their thirst.

In this round of hunting, from start to finish, they hunted a total of 7 Frosty Monsters.

This granted Zong Shen 7000 Points and 34020 Experience Value.

The accompanying warriors also gained some experience, more or less.

Moreover, during this time, the efficiency of everyone’s kills improved significantly.
