Global Lords: I Have Information System

Chapter 645: Chapter 432: Long-Range Attrition Tactics, the Hunt Begins

The attributes of the Rodok crossbowmen are slightly higher than those of the lightly armored shooters.

Apart from the advantages of the kingdom soldiers, this also relates to their good level of talent.

When Zong Shen made the exchange, he deliberately chose these crossbowmen with a higher tier of talent.

Purely from an attributes and skills perspective, there’s no doubt that the damage of these Rodok crossbowmen is indeed very high.

Their basic piercing damage reaches 64~67 points, considering that the initial piercing damage of a Tier Three Dragon-kin Ranger is only 70 points when first recruited.

When these guys have all their skills activated, their single-hit output capability is even on par with the Dragon-kin Rangers.

However, the output of a crossbow has its own advantages and disadvantages.

The crossbow is easier to handle, has a lower aiming difficulty, and generally has greater range and power compared to a bow of the same draw weight.

Every crossbow has a firing device, allowing you to aim without worrying about continuous exertion, straight-line force, or accuracy of anchoring.

For most people, it’s quite user-friendly, as they can achieve considerable shooting precision with just a short period of training.

In contrast, the learning process of shooting with a bow and arrow is longer, with a relatively extended training cycle.

The training cost to develop a qualified archer is higher.

But the bulk production cost of a single bow is cheaper, and powerful compound bows can also be crafted.

Likewise, in long-distance shooting, arrows are more stable than crossbow arrows.

As for shooting speed, the shooting frequency of high draw-weight bows and crossbows is about the same.

Shooting speed is related to strength and proficiency.

In conclusion, bows and crossbows have their respective advantages and disadvantages as the two remote brothers.

After Zong Shen finished reviewing the detailed skills and attributes of the Rodok crossbowmen, he had a clear idea on how to maximize the effectiveness of this troop type.

Given these ranged warriors have a basic piercing damage of 65~70 points, ordinary shots are enough to cause 10~15 points of damage to a Yeti.

Within a minute, they can at least shoot over a dozen rounds, resulting in a damage of one to two thousand points.

Along with Luna’s Female Hunter Squad, the Wolf Cavalry Squad, and the Water Mages.

Even Zong Shen himself is a formidable force not to be underestimated.

With all these forces involved, Zong Shen is confident that he can finish the battle within five minutes.

If it weren’t for the Yetis’ monstrous frost spellcasting ability, this time could be further shortened.

Luna parked the Burden-Bearer Mecha on an open space, nimbly jumped off the pilot’s seat, brushed the accumulated snow off her clothes, and walked quickly towards Zong Shen.

All the warriors did the same, forming two not-so-neat ranks.

Waiting for Zong Shen to give the order to depart.

Luna placed a hand over her chest, offering a formal salute as she reported to Zong Shen.

”My lord, the warriors have all assembled.”

”Please issue further instructions.”

Upon hearing this, Zong Shen planted the trident heavily on the ground.

The ice layer instantly cracked open a hole the size of a watermelon.

Shards and snow sprays flew in all directions under the conical impactor.

All the warriors immediately fell silent, standing up straight.

”Winter is coming, Yetis are invading.”

”Today’s mission is simple.”

”That is to hunt the Yetis.”

”I hope the leisurely days of the past few days haven’t drained your war intent.”

Zong Shen spoke concisely, emphasizing the necessary ceremonial sense for the monthly sortie.

”It’s an honor to stand by your side!”

All the warriors shouted in unison, including those who joined recently.

Zong Shen nodded in satisfaction, turning his hand to take out a modified Burden-Bearer Mecha.

There were quite a large number of participants in this mission, apart from the wolf cavalry and female hunters with their own riding beasts, the rest all needed to ride the Burden-Bearer Mecha.

”Wenresa, you will drive this one.”

Zong Shen pointed to the Burden-Bearer Mecha that Luna had driven back.

”Twelve Rodok crossbowmen, six light crossbowmen, four Dragon-kin Rangers, four Water Mages, Tasuya, Aisha, all of you get on board.”

”Your mission is to launch hit-and-run attacks, maintaining a distance of 100 to 150 meters for consistent ranged strikes.”

”Apart from Tasuya and Aisha’s Tier Four summoning skills, each of you can use your skills freely.”

”Katis, your dragonized spear and shield warriors will ride the other Burden-Bearer Mecha.”

”I will personally pilot this Burden-Bearer Mecha.”

”Luna, Korby, your task is to carry out mobile attacks, seeking appropriate opportunities to strike.”

Zong Shen quickly deployed the plan, splitting the warriors between the two Burden-Bearer Mecha.

They were divided into melee, ranged, and guerrilla groups.

All the warriors boarded the cargo holds of the Burden-Bearer Mecha as instructed.

Zong Shen first retrieved the [Magic Energy Hot Air Balloon] previously discarded on the ground into his storage grid.

Within the effect range of the heat ball, the ice layer melted one to two centimeters overall.

Creating a not-so-obvious depression.

Zong Shen quickly walked to the side of the other Burden-Bearer Mecha, skillfully stepping on the pedals to the pilot’s seat, taking out magic energy crystals, filling it with magic energy, and then activating the magic energy core.

He took the lead, heading southwest of the territory, where there was a golden circle marker 4.3 kilometers away, second only in distance to the one southeast.

The area from the east to southeast had been left to Marie and her group, without further interference from Zong Shen.

The main goal of the division this time was to train them.
