Villain Extra: Rogue Reader

The Villain Extra System was rendered speechless at Ray’s flawless defense.

Indeed, he was a Villain Extra with the worst attributes.

For him to even defeat Samantha, albeit in a crooked manner, was still a skilled achievement.

[The system was incorrect. You are fulfilling your role perfectly!]

’If you admit you’re wrong, then let me devour two skills instead of one skill. Don’t you think it’s only fair that those who did wrong have to apologize for something?’ Ray calmly asked.

[That is unreasonable.]

’You mean a damn system that tried to question the host’s character setting and wanted to change them?’

[Only this once. Never speak of this incident again, and you have a deal.]

’Sure, and never give me those ridiculous missions with those dumb penalties. Loss of manhood? That kind of garbage penalty is only for the masochist protagonist. I’m neither a masochist nor a protagonist.’

The system no longer responded, but Ray was certain that it wouldn’t pull such nonsense crap again.

It was funny for the first time, but that was about it. Some jokes, if overused, would just become annoying and not funny.

And sure enough, Ray was correct in the deduction when the system finally replied, but on a different topic.

[The available skills available to devour from Samantha are Precision, Tenacity, Mana Concentration, Perception, Stealth, and Arcane Shot. You may choose two skills to devour as an exception this time.]

’Whoa, as expected of a heroine.’ Ray was dumbfounded by the numerous great options available to choose from.

The skills themselves were already more useful than the previous devour he had done.

Now, one might think he would take a long time to do so, but that was far from the case.

’I choose Precision and Perception.’ He immediately made his choice without hesitation.

Why did he choose these two?

Unlike the past skills he had acquired, which were considered active skills, these two were passive skills.

In other words, they were going to be on constantly unless he turned them off.

But only an idiot would turn off a passive skill, with the exception that the passive skill was somewhat harmful.

’Some games might have passive skills that couldn’t be turned on, but I just knew the system was going to pull something like this.’ As soon as Ray devoured the skills, he noticed these two passive skills were turned off.

He made sure to warn the system to not turn them off because he wouldn’t do that at all.

Precision basically allowed him to be able to aim more accurately, whereas perception literally increased his vision and senses in the surrounding.

It was an extremely critical skill for him to obtain right now.

Since he was going to be gifted a firearm from George Windall, he was well set for his offensive moves.

While he had completed his objective, Ray turned to Belva.

”You want to play chess?” He asked.

”No need. I’m inferior to you.” Belva shook her head and refrained from playing.

”Tsk, you’re no fun. I’ll go easy on you.”

”I’m too terrible at it, Young Master Ray.”

”Ah, I guessed even my easy mode is too much for someone of your level.” Ray nodded in agreement.

[This delusional host...]

’This delusional Young Master...’

Without him knowing, both the system and Belva actually shared the same thoughts this time. They both knew how garbage Ray was at chess, but the latter actually believed he was great at it.

’I’ve studied chess since I was young, and even though its operations are slightly different. I can easily win in the first move too.’ Belva was confident in her ability to destroy Ray in a heartbeat.

However, as a maid, it was unwise for the maid to defeat their Young Master.

Not only would it be extremely humiliating, but it could also make things difficult for her.

She had witnessed how far he went for Samantha, so she couldn’t imagine how far he would go to someone whom he felt a grudge or hatred against. It was better to play it safe and avoid getting on his bad side.

”Since you don’t want to play, just put it away and eat some food. You must also be starving and tired from the journey.” Ray yawned and passed over his food to her.

Needless to say, this portion of food was untouched, and a single glance could tell he had purposely saved it up.

As someone who valued a certain morale and despised blackhearted bosses, he naturally wouldn’t let Belva starve to death.

Yes, he was despicable, but a little bit of humanity wouldn’t hurt.

Not to mention, Belva was also his bodyguard, so if his bodyguard was to be rendered useless because of starvation, he would only be harming himself.

’I’ve offended the Fourth Prince, and given his character setting. He is definitely going to come at me.’ Ray was certain of this and the reason why trouble hadn’t come knocking yet was mainly because the former was probably searching for a valuable lackey.

’Speaking of lackey, did Sylas successfully take in William?’ Ray inquired about the system silently.

When there was no response from the system, he simply sighed. It wasn’t a defeated sigh, but a victory sigh.

’So it was a success indeed. I just knew Sylas’s personality would clash badly with William and would garner the latter’s hatred. I’m such a genius to pull off this play.’

[... no villain points will be allocated because the protagonist didn’t feel it came from you.]

When Ray read the system prompt, he didn’t react much. The protagonist was stupid as hell, so he didn’t even think for a second that William would be able to connect the dots of his involvement.

That dude is way too dense and foolish!

Like seriously, how was he also dumb enough to support such a protagonist for so long without seeing all his flaws?

’Ah, right, first novel, so it holds a special place.’

That was right!

Ray decided to continue to deceive himself that the Lord of Magic was his very first novel, so he was able to tolerate all these plot holes and nonsense.
