Villain's Evolution: Investing in My Minions Yields Crazy Returns!

Starlight Royal Academy, Noble Dormitory District.

The setting sun shone through the floor to ceiling windows, bathing the spacious study in a faint golden glow.

Victor sat on a soft sofa, casually playing with a fist sized crystal in his hand.

The crystal was a deep purple gold color, and countless tiny points of light seemed to flow slowly within it. Upon closer inspection, one could even see those points of light continuously combining into different mana patterns, sometimes forming complex magic formations before dispersing again and rearranging themselves into entirely new structures.

This was precisely the reward he had just obtained through his investment in Mia.

Epic Item: Myriad Forms Profession Awakening Core!

”Capable of guiding the user toward the profession most suitable for their talents...” Victor gazed at the crystal in his hand, a thoughtful look flashing through his eyes.

For the people of this world, profession awakening practically determined more than half of their future lives.

Ordinary warriors, mages, archers, and various rare professions could all continue growing through cultivation and training. However, the starting points and upper limits of growth between different professions varied enormously.

This was especially true for certain hidden professions.

Once successfully awakened, they could even transform someone with previously mediocre aptitude into a genius overnight.

And the most precious aspect of the Myriad Forms Profession Awakening Core was its ability to actively search for the most suitable awakening direction based on the user’s unique talent characteristics.

This meant that as long as the user possessed sufficiently outstanding potential, they would have a chance to awaken a special profession far superior to ordinary ones.

”No wonder it’s an Epic item.” Victor chuckled softly.

If this thing were placed in an academy auction, even those powerful noble families would probably fight fiercely over it.

With this thought, Victor stored the core in his system space before opening his personal attribute panel.

Victor was now only seven levels away from the limit of the First Life Tier.

If he followed the cultivation speed of an ordinary student, crossing those seven levels would probably require a considerable amount of time.

But for him, the situation was clearly different. Not only did he possess the Infinite Evolution talent, but he had also mastered Mana Devour, a special ability capable of continuously increasing his maximum mana.

More importantly, his previous life and death battle against the Level 45 Abyssal Beast had given him a much deeper understanding of how to level up faster.

Just as Victor was in his thoughts, a knock sounded from outside the study.

”Young Master.”

”Come in.”

The door opened, and Evelyn walked in carrying a cup of hot tea.

She placed the teacup on the table, her gaze briefly sweeping over Victor’s face.

”Are you thinking about training again?”

”Just making some preparations in advance.” Victor smiled. ”Don’t worry. I’m not planning to risk my life fighting another beast today.”

Evelyn stared at him expressionlessly.

”I hope you’ll remember those words.”

Victor shook his head helplessly.

”You’re becoming more and more like my guardian lately.”

”If young master could value his own life a little more, I wouldn’t need to behave this way.”

After speaking, Evelyn took another document from her storage ring.

”Also, the information you previously asked me to compile regarding the academy’s resources is ready.”

Victor’s eyes lit up.

”That quickly?”

He had only asked her to compile the information while they were on their way back yesterday, and as usual, she had delivered it remarkably quickly.

”The academy resource library’s public catalog isn’t difficult to obtain.”

Evelyn placed the document on the table.

”I mainly selected cultivation resources suitable for lower level students, along with a few materials that can assist the growth of special professions.”

Victor opened the document and quickly began browsing through it.

Profession awakening assistance materials.

Basic Bloodline Enhancement Potions.

Spirit Enhancement Crystals.

Rare Skill Scrolls.

Special Elemental Affinity Materials.

The exchange prices of these resources ranged from several thousand contribution points to tens of thousands. Some even included advanced items that required special permissions to redeem.

Victor examined the information quite seriously.

In the past, although he would actively search for investment opportunities, most of the time he only decided what resources to invest after encountering a suitable target.

But things were different now.

As the number of people around him continued to increase, he needed to start considering how to distribute his resources more reasonably.

After all, even with the Villain Investment System, it did not mean every investment would produce an astonishing multiplier.

The investment target’s potential, current circumstances, and the influence of the invested resources on their fate trajectory would all directly determine the final return.

”Young Master.”

Evelyn suddenly spoke.

”Are you planning to spend all your contribution points cultivating other people?”

Victor raised his head. ”What? Do you think it isn’t worth it?”

”No.” Evelyn shook her head. ”It’s just that your own cultivation also requires resources.”

Victor smiled. ”Who said investing in others can’t improve my own strength?”

Evelyn raised an eyebrow in confusion, but Victor did not explain further. He simply closed the document and casually placed it on the table.

”Besides, I’m not going to give away resources to just anyone,” he said calmly. ”Those worth cultivating will naturally receive more opportunities. As for those who lack ability or simply aren’t trustworthy...”

Victor smiled faintly. ”It’s not like my money grows on trees.”

Evelyn looked at him and suddenly felt that there was something rather strange about those words.

After all, in her opinion, the things Victor had given away recently were already valuable enough to make ordinary nobles feel heartbroken for a long time.

However, she ultimately said nothing.

Suddenly, Victor suddenly remembered something else.

”By the way, how has Noah been doing lately?”

”Noah?” Evelyn thought for a moment. ”He’s been training at the swordsmanship training ground these past few days. I heard he’s already challenged several senior swordsmen in succession. And from those matches he achieved two wins and three losses.”

Victor raised an eyebrow.

”He’s certainly enthusiastic.”

”However, his improvement has indeed been quite noticeable,” Evelyn continued. ”Especially his swordsmanship judgment. It’s much stronger than before. The instructor responsible for guiding him even believes that if he maintains this rate of progress, he’ll soon gain an advantage over swordsmen of the same level.”

Victor nodded in satisfaction, Something like Sword Heart was never something that could be fully developed through resources alone. True growth still required continuous combat and tempering.

”What about Karl?”

”He’s currently undergoing defensive combat technique training, while Bruno is attempting to stabilize his new ability.” Evelyn paused briefly. ”As for Milo, he seems to be searching for a new skill suitable for himself.”

”It seems none of them are idle. That’s good news.”

After all, what he needed had never been a group of useless people who only knew how to depend on the resources he provided.

Only by continuously improving themselves could they create greater value for him in the future.

”Arrange a meeting once my body recovers,” Victor said. ”I want to see how much they’ve improved recently.”

”Understood.” Evelyn nodded. ”Also, Young Master, there’s one more thing.”

”What is it?”

”Someone was asking about you at the academy this afternoon.”

Victor sat up straight, his entire aura becoming serious.

”Who?”

Evelyn hesitated for a few seconds before answering.

”Several senior students.”
