Villain's Evolution: Investing in My Minions Yields Crazy Returns!

Boom!

Accompanied by a roar from the Abyssal Bone-Spike Wolf, the entire rocky forest seemed to tremble in that instant!

Dense dark-purple mana surged wildly from its body, like a constantly expanding black flame, completely enveloping that massive form. The surrounding flames that had not yet died out rapidly dimmed the moment they came into contact with this power, and even the free mana in the air was forcibly drawn away, forming visible vortexes.

At the same time, the originally pitch-black bone spikes on the Abyssal Bone-Spike Wolf’s surface actually began to slowly grow!

Crack! Crack!

A hair-raising sound of bones grinding rang out in succession.

In just a few seconds, the bone spikes on its shoulders had nearly doubled in size. Dense dark-purple mana spread across its pitch-black scales, and even its originally wounded neck was covered by a layer of constantly writhing abyssal mana.

An even more terrifying pressure than before suddenly descended!

Victor stood more than ten meters away, his right hand gripping the Crimson Flame Fang tightening slightly.

The next moment, a semi-transparent message suddenly appeared in his vision.

[Target: Abyssal Bone-Spike Wolf]

[Level: 50]

[Life Tier: Second Tier]

[Current Status: Berserk State]

[Warning: Target’s mana output and level has greatly increased!]

[Warning: Target’s mental state is extremely unstable!]

Level 50! The monster has jumped a whopping 5 levels!

Even Victor couldn’t help but twitch the corner of his eye upon seeing this level, a cold chill passing through his spine.

”You really think highly of me.”

He glanced down at his own chest.

That earlier strike had already broken at least two of his ribs. The wound on his left shoulder was still bleeding continuously, and the mana within his body had been largely consumed from consecutive uses of Shadow Blink and the Heaven Burning Sword Art.

If it were an ordinary level twenty-two professional, they probably wouldn’t even be able to stand.

Yet the monster before him had only just entered its frenzied state.

However, Victor did not retreat Because he knew that if he backed down, the Abyssal Bone-Spike Wolf would redirect its target to Leah.

That would be the truly troublesome matter.

”In that case...”

Victor slowly raised his longsword, crimson flames continuously rising along the blade.

”Let’s see just how long you can hold out!”

The moment the words left his mouth!

Boom!

The ground beneath the Abyssal Bone-Spike Wolf’s feet exploded!

Its massive body, nearly six meters long, actually vanished from its spot in an instant!

Victor’s pupils suddenly contracted.

The previous Abyssal Bone-Spike Wolf, despite its astonishing speed, could at least still have its attack trajectory captured in advance through combat intuition.

But now, that terrifying mana fluctuation was almost simultaneously surging in from all directions!

”Shadow Blink!”

Whoosh!

Victor activated the skill without hesitation, his body suddenly shifting eight yards to the side.

However, the instant he reappeared, a pitch-black afterimage followed right behind!

What?!

Bang!!!

A thick wolf claw viciously slammed onto the Crimson Flame Fang!

Terrifying force exploded in an instant. Victor’s entire body was like a cannonball fired from a barrel, flying backward directly, successively smashing through three boulders, and finally crashing heavily into the distant rock wall!

Boom!

Debris fell like a rainstorm!

The entire rock face was smashed into a huge crater.

”Pfft!”

Victor suddenly spat out a mouthful of blood, feeling as though his internal organs had all been displaced.

If he hadn’t placed the Crimson Flame Fang horizontally across his chest at the last moment, that claw strike would likely have torn his body in two.

Even so, the massive force still caused his right arm to lose feeling for a moment.

”Young Master!”

From a distance, Leah’s face turned deathly pale upon seeing this.

She struggled to stand, but was held down by Ryan.

”Don’t go over there!”

”But Victor...”

”If you go over, you’ll only make him more dangerous!”

Ryan clenched his teeth, his voice carrying unconcealed anxiety.

He also wanted to help.

But that earlier strike had already made him fully understand the gap between them.

An attack that even Victor couldn’t easily block—what could he possibly do by charging in?

Moreover, his left shoulder was already severely injured, making even gripping a sword extremely difficult.

”Keep retreating!”

Ryan helped Leah up, forcibly bringing her backward.

However, the two had only moved a few steps when the Astral Core within Leah’s body violently trembled again.

”Ah!”

She clutched her chest in pain.

The distant Abyssal Bone-Spike Wolf seemed to sense it, its crimson eyes instantly turning toward her.

That greed even suppressed its fury toward Victor!

The next moment, it actually abandoned Victor in the rock wall entirely and charged madly toward Leah!

”No good!”

Ryan’s expression changed drastically.

But at that moment—

Boom!

A crimson sword aura suddenly shot over from behind!

The Abyssal Bone-Spike Wolf’s body suddenly lurched.

The sword aura viciously slashed at its previously wounded neck. Although it couldn’t completely tear open the wound, it successfully interrupted its charge.

From within the dust, a figure slowly walked out.

Victor wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, his eyes cold.

”Did I say you could leave?”

The Abyssal Bone-Spike Wolf slowly turned its head.

It seemed to have been thoroughly enraged.

”ROAR—!”

An earth-shaking roar echoed through the forest!

The next moment, countless streams of dark-purple mana erupted from its body, like a black rainstorm, madly sweeping toward Victor’s position!

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Rocks shattered!

Trees collapsed!

Large swathes of land continuously exploded under the mana impact, and the entire rocky forest was almost completely leveled!

Victor’s figure continuously weaved through the explosions, relying on his eighty points of agility and combat intuition to barely avoid the most dangerous attacks. But as the abyssal mana covered an increasingly wider area, the space he could move in rapidly shrank.

”This won’t work.”

Victor thought to himself.

The Abyssal Bone-Spike Wolf in its frenzied state had no intention of giving him any chance to breathe.

But precisely because of this, he finally noticed a detail.

Although the wound on that magical beast’s neck was continuously being covered by abyssal mana, it had never truly healed.

Whenever it launched large-scale attacks, the dark-purple mana around the wound would become especially bright, occasionally even showing brief disturbances.

”So that’s it...” A flash of insight appeared in Victor’s eyes.

The frenzied state did make this monster even more powerful.

But such terrifying mana output also meant that the energy within its body was circulating at an astonishing rate.

Especially that neck wound, which had taken two consecutive Heaven Burning Sword Art attacks, had become the most unstable point in its mana circulation!

If he could sever its mana circulation from there...

With this thought, Victor suddenly stopped and slowly lowered the Crimson Flame Fang, standing on the cracked rocky ground.

In the distance, the Abyssal Bone-Spike Wolf’s crimson eyes stared fixedly at him.
