Bringing The Farm To Live In Another World

Chapter 2242: Befriending Zhao Hai

Yu Linfeng sat silently in his room along with Chen Feng and Lie Xing. After some time, Chen Feng said, “Brother Yu, what do we do now? Liu Zhen clearly wants to use this year to get a firm hold on the Blood Knife Gang. If he controls the gang, how could we continue surviving?”

Li Xing nodded and said, “I’m afraid he will try to deal with us this year. When the time comes, we will be in trouble.”

Yu Linfeng coldly snorted and said, “There’s no need to guess. Liu Zhen will definitely use this year to deal with us, he’s not a saint. His influence in the gang is greater than us, he shouldn’t let us off just like that.”

Chen Feng nodded. But he frowned and then looked at Yu Linfeng and said, “There’s one strange thing. Liu Zhen seems to be prepared for this. He seems to know that the Gang Master will not come back. At the very least, he wasn’t telling the truth to the Forbidden Path Sect.”

Yu Linfeng nodded as his eyes narrowed, “Liu Zhen has always been very close to the Gang Master. How could he be unaware of the Gang Master’s mentality? It’s impossible for him to not know what the Gang Master is planning. He must have known what happened but didn’t tell the Forbidden Path Sect.”

Lie Xing couldn’t help but stare, then his eyes lit up as he said, “Brother Yu, how about we spread this information outside. When the time comes, we don’t have to make a move. The Forbidden Path Sect will deal with Liu Zhen on their own.”

Yu Linfeng glared at Lie Xing as he said, “Are you stupid? Have you considered what kinds of people belong to the Forbidden Path Sect? Liu Zhen hid information from the sect not because he’s protecting himself, but he’s protecting the entire gang. If the Forbidden Path Sect knew that Liu Zhen was aware that the Gang Master plans to snatch the Nine Revolutions Heavenly Herb, then it will be hard to guarantee that they won’t eradicate the entire Blood Knife Gang. If that happens, you and I won’t worry about Liu Zhen acting against us since we’ll be dead.”

When Lie Xing and Chen Feng heard this, they were stunned. Then their expression couldn’t help but change. They lived in the Forbidden Path Sect’s territory for many years, they were aware how the Forbidden Path Sect acted. As Yu Linfeng said, the Forbidden Path Sect aren’t good people. The sect was known for its domineering personality. In the eyes of the Forbidden Path Sect, a small gang like the Blood Knife Gang was disposable. If the Forbidden Path Sect knew that Liu Zhen deceived them, then it wouldn’t be far-fetched to think that the sect would eradicate the entire gang. If the sect wants to deal with the gang, it would be as simple as waving their hand. And nobody can escape the pursuit of the Forbidden Path Sect.

Yu Linfeng looked at everyone and said, “You should also know that although we are Earth Monarchs, we have already exhausted our potential. It will be difficult for us to go further. With our talent, it would be impossible to join a sect. We can only thrive inside gangs. But if we join a bigger gang, we can only get the position of elder. It’s impossible for us to become masters of a hall.”

“This means that we cannot leave the Blood Knife Gang. And we can’t do anything that can harm the gang. We only have to try our best to keep the Blood Knife Gang standing. Protecting the Blood Knife Gang is protecting our interests. Do you understand?”

Chen Feng and Lie Xing nodded. Then Chen Feng looked at Yu Linfeng and said, “Then what do we do about Liu Zhen? You went against him just now, he will certainly take revenge on us.”

Yu Linfeng sneered, “He wouldn’t dare do anything to us. Before this, the Blood Knife Gang has the Gang Master at the Teleportation Stage. Even so, the Blood Knife Gang is still at the bottom of Demonheart City’s hierarchy. Now that the whereabouts of the Gang Master is unknown, the Blood Knife Gang has been severely weakened. If Liu Zhen drives us out of the gang, the strength of the gang would decrease even more. When the time comes, any gang in the city could clean us up. Whether for himself or for the gang, Liu Zhen wouldn’t deal with us right away.”

Upon hearing this, Chen Feng and Liu Xing nodded. They felt that Yu Linfeng’s words were very reasonable. Although the Blood Knife Gang was a powerhouse in Split River City, it was a gang of nobodies in Demonheart City. With Wang Da’s unclear situation, the strength of the gang was essentially halved. If there’s infighting at this time, the gang would be finished.

At this time, Yu Linfeng frowned and said, “What I’m worried about right now isn’t Liu Zhen’s move, but another person.”

Chen Feng and Liu Xing looked at Yu Linfeng, not knowing who he was talking about. Yu Linfeng looked at the two and said, “What I’m worried about is Zhao Ling.”

Hearing this, Chen Feng and Liu Xing couldn’t help but stare. Chen Feng asked, “Brother Yu, you were worried about Zhao Ling? Why would you be worried about him?”

Yu Linfeng replied, “Zhao Ling isn’t simple. He has only been in the Blood Knife Gang for a short time, yet he has already won the trust of the Gang Master and Liu Zhen. I’ve seen the Gang Master summon him multiple times. Moreover, you’ve forgotten, but Zhao Ling is among the ones who took the Moonfall Palace’s mission. How could he be unaware of the Gang Master’s situation? I reckon he’s lying like Liu Zhen.”

After sighing, Yu Linfeng continued, “Moreover, I heard that the Forbidden Path Sect is planning on recruiting disciples from the outside. The Gang Master intends for Zhao Ling to participate in the recruitment. If Zhao Ling can join the Forbidden Path Sect, the Blood Knife Gang would have nothing to worry about in Demonheart City.”

Chen Feng and Liu Xing stared when they heard this, then their complexion changed. Lie Xing took a deep breath and said, “Zhao Ling and Liu Zhen are very close. If Zhao Ling manages to join the Forbidden Path Sect, he will definitely support Liu Zhen. Once that happens, we won’t have good lives.”

The three became silent for some time. A short while later, Chen Feng laughed. Yu Linfeng and Liu Xing couldn’t help but look at him. Chen Feng looked at the two and said, “I think this isn’t that bad. If Zhao Ling fails to join the Forbidden Path Sect, then Liu Zhen will have to depend on his own strength to become the Gang Master. In that case, Liu Zhen will have to defend against us. If Zhao Ling joins the Forbidden Path Sect and supports Liu Zhen, then would we dare oppose him? By that time, we won’t be a threat to them. Even if Liu Zhen gains enough influence, he might not deal with those who aren’t a threat to him, making it safer for us.”

Hearing this, Yu Linfeng and Liu Xing stared for a moment before their eyes lit up. There are two sides to everything. Before, they thought that Zhao Hai would become bad news to them once he joined the Forbidden Path Sect. However, they didn’t think about what happens to Zhao Hai once he becomes a sect disciple. When that time comes, they would no longer be a threat to Liu Zhen, and Liu Zhen would have to reason to deal with them. This would turn their bad situation into a more acceptable outcome.

Chen Feng looked at the two and said, “And Brother Yu, if we want to survive in the Blood Knife Gang in the future, we can no longer work against Liu Zhen. We have to find a way to repair our relationship with him. He might not have any power now, but once Liu Zhen gains control over the gang, he would certainly point his sword at us. The person that can help us repair our relationship is Zhao Ling.”

Yu Linfeng immediately understood what Chen Feng was talking about. He looked at Chen Feng and said, “You mean, Liu Zhen also knows that Zhao Ling is going to participate in the assessment of the Forbidden Path Sect? If that is the case, he will certainly support him. We must also support Zhao Ling. This way, Liu Zhen will understand our intent of repairing our relationship.”

Chen Feng nodded, “Moreover, we can improve our relationship with Zhao Ling. If he succeeds in joining the Forbidden Path Sect, he will certainly remember us. When the time comes, he can put in a good word for us in front of Liu Zhen.”

Yu Linfeng and Liu Xing heard this, and their eyes lit up. They haven’t thought about Zhao Hai becoming their bridge in repairing their relationship with Liu Zhen. Moreover, if Zhao Hai becomes a sect disciple, Liu Zhen would certainly respect his words. This might even solidify their position within the Blood Knife Gang. R̃ᴀƝỒ𐌱Ëṣ

Yu Linfeng stood up and said, “Alright, I like your idea. Let’s prepare Zhao Ling’s gift first. To be honest, since he joined the Blood Knife Gang, we haven’t got in contact. I think it’s time that we meet him.”

The two naturally wouldn’t object. Although the Blood Knife Gang is a small gang. It was still a small power in the end. Moreover, it was one of the major gangs of Split River City. Yu Linfeng and the others were Hall Masters of the gang, which meant that they had amassed a small fortune of their own. At the very least, they were rich among rogue cultivators.

After preparing the gift, the three left Yu Linfeng’s courtyard and walked towards Zhao Hai’s residence. Zhao Hai was now a celebrity in the Blood Knife Gang, which won him his own place. It didn’t take long before the three arrived in Zhao Hai’s courtyard.
