Bringing The Farm To Live In Another World

Chapter 2233: Carrying a Treasure

Liu Zhen and Wang Da sat in the Gang Master’s room. Wang Da was holding a jade slip and carefully went through the contents. By the end, he looked up and said, “Zhen, have you read Little Ling’s report?”

Liu Zhen nodded and said, “I have. To be honest, I was surprised at the beginning. But as I read more and more, I felt that his concerns are reasonable. I don’t know how many times I have walked the road between Split River City and Demonheart City. Besides the time we were attacked by the three gangs, there were no problems on the road. It should be a safe route. However, the other party not only hired us, they also brought people with them. It is indeed abnormal.”

Wand Da nodded, “It is not normal. But since this is the Blood Knife Gang’s first mission in Demonheart City, we cannot make any mistake. Whether the speculation is true or not, we have to make preparations. Zhen, go and gather the elites of the gang. Follow behind the convoy in secret.”

Liu Zhen nodded, “Alright. Like Little Ling said, we have to ensure the completion of this task. If something happens, we also have hidden forces we can use.”

Wang Da smiled faintly and said, “I must say, Little Ling is quite smart. I didn’t expect that he would have such ability. If what he said is true, he will have done the Blood Knife Gang a great favor.”

Liu Zhen nodded, a smile growing on his face. He was the one who recruited Zhao Hai. Now that Zhao Hai was doing well, he felt very proud. He stood up and cupped his fist towards Wang Da and said, “Gang Master, I’ll head back to prepare.”

Wang Da nodded. Like he said, if Zhao Hai’s suspicions were true, it would have a huge effect on the Blood Knife Gang. Cultivators believe very much in luck. If the Blood Knife Gang wants to live well in Demonheart City, they will need to complete a lot of missions. This made the gang’s first mission extremely crucial. If they started out strong, then they would have better missions in the future.

It was because of this consideration that they took the mission heading to Split River City. Not only because the mission had low pay and was unpopular, the gang was also familiar with the route which increased the chances of completion.

If something happens in the mission or if it fails, it wouldn’t be great for the Blood Knife Gang’s reputation. As people who believe in luck, cultivators wouldn’t hire a group that failed in their first mission.

Before long, Liu Zhen finished choosing the group of elites. Wang Da personally led the group and used a portable transmission formation to go to the meeting place agreed upon with Zhao Hai. However, they didn’t show themselves but instead hid outside the town.

Zhao Hai also received word from Liu Zhen telling him that the reinforcements have arrived. Only then did Zhao Hai relax.

The night passed quietly. The next morning, Zhao Hai and the others departed. The Convoy Leader didn’t put any airs in front of Zhao Hai and instead talked and laughed with him. Zhao Hai also wanted to find out what the Convoy Leader was hiding, so he indulged the fat man in conversation. It was as if the altercation the day before didn’t happen.

Although the others didn’t understand what Zhao Hai wanted to do, nobody said anything. Zhao Hai made a good showing the day before, which convinced the members of the Blood Knife Gang.

The day went smoothly. However, the fat man discovered that the Blood Knife Gang members were more vigilant compared to yesterday. This caused the fat man to be a bit worried.

The next three days passed uneventfully. However, the fat man didn’t relax his guard. He knew the importance of his cargo. He cannot afford to have anything happen.

Zhao Hai was also observing the fat man in this period of time. He wanted to see if the fat man showed any abnormal actions. But after three days of observation, Zhao Hai found that the fat man seemed to be normal besides the fact that he was afraid of death. But this was exactly what Zhao Hai had problems with.

The fat man was a Soul Fusion Cultivator. In the convoy there were very few people that could go against him. However, the fat man not only stayed in the carriage at all times, he also had five to six guards with him.

Although the fat man seemed to be focusing on something else, Zhao Hai noticed that his guards were surrounding him, making sure that any attack wouldn’t get to him first.

This caused Zhao Hai to come up with an unusual thought. When night came and the convoy had settled down, Zhao Hai stealthily left and met with Wang Da and the others.

All this time, Wang Da and the others were following behind at a distance. Despite not making any appearance, Zhao Hai was still aware of their position. 𝔯âꞐóBƐꞩ

In a forest outside the town, Zhao Hai cupped his fist towards Wang Da and Liu Zhen, “Zhao Ling has seen the Gang Master and Hall Master Liu.”

Wang Da waved his hand and said, “Alright, you don’t have to be polite with me. Why did you come here? Do you have something to report?”

Zhao Hai nodded and said, “Gang, Master, I’m here to report. After three days of observation, I have made some discoveries.”

Wang Da nodded and said, “Sit down and tell me.”

Zhao Hai sat down on a piece of beast skin opposite Wang Da. Since they had been staying in the wild, these animal skins became invaluable. At this time, Wang Da had several pieces around him.

After Zhao Hai sat down, he said, “Gang Master, after three days of observation, I discovered that the Convoy Leader seems to be afraid of being attacked. He always has several people around him. And this is what I find suspicious.”

Wang Da looked at Zhao Hai and said, “Suspicious? How can that be suspicious?”

Zhao Hai explained, “To become a convoy leader, the fat man shouldn’t have been that cowardly. If he is, then he wouldn’t have reached the Soul Fusion Stage. Moreover, from his previous actions, his current act doesn’t line up. The fat man seemed to be convinced that he would be attacked.”

As he looked at Wang Da and Liu Zhen, Zhao Hai continued, “This could mean one thing. The fat man is carrying a valuable treasure with him. Moreover, its value might exceed our expectations. So valuable that I reckon if the Forbidden Path Sect were to know of this treasure, they might want to snatch it for themselves.”

Hearing this, Wang Da and Liu Zhen’s bodies couldn’t help but shake. They looked at each other and saw the greedy look on their faces.

Zhao Hai looked at the two and said, “Gang Master, we can test him tomorrow. Lead a group to attack the convoy and see how he responds. If he protects himself first and not the cargo, then we can be sure that the treasure is with his body.”

Wang Da nodded, “Alright. I’ll go attack the convoy tomorrow. Go and observe. If that fatty really has a treasure…” He didn’t say anything mire but Zhao Hai and Liu Zhen understood his message.

Zhao Hai added, “The Blood Knife Gang has been in Split River City for a long time. The destination of the fat man shouldn’t be Split River City. Once we arrive, they would hire another set of guards. It’s most likely those from the three gangs. When the time comes, the Gang Master can take action and deal with them all in one clean swoop. Not only can we get revenge, we might also gain a valuable treasure in the process.”

Hearing Zhao Hai, Wang Da’s face couldn’t help but change. He wanted to take action before the convoy arrived at Split River City. But now that he heard Zhao Hai, he hesitated.

Zhao Hai looked at Wang Da and said, “Gang Master, if that fat man really has a treasure with him, then that treasure most likely belongs to the Moonfall Palace. There should be people in there who are aware of the treasure. If we attack before arriving at Split River City, Moonfall Palace will certainly find fault with us. When the time comes, they don’t even need to make a move, they could just announce that the Blood Knife Gang has a treasure and we’ll be finished. Therefore, we cannot cast doubt on us. We need to reach Split River City first before moving.”

Wang Da stared, then he nodded and said, “Alright, we’ll do it your way. Let’s test him tomorrow. If that fatty really has a treasure, then the moment he leaves Split River City will be his death.”

Zhao Hai smiled faintly and said, “Then, Gang Master, I’ll head back first. I can’t be seen here.”

Wang Da nodded, “Go and pay close attention. Make sure to protect yourself and our brothers.” Zhao Hai cupped his fist before leaving.

After Zhao Hai left, Wang Da turned to Liu Zhen and sighed, “He’s a good kid. Vicious and merciless. He’ll be great one day. Little Zhen, once the sect begins recruiting disciples, I’m planning to have Little Ling apply. What do you think?”

Liu Zhen smiled faintly and said, “Although Little Ling is vicious and merciless, he looks after his own people. If he enters the Forbidden Path Sect, I’m sure he will not forget our Blood Knife Gang. It’s a good idea for him to join the sect.”
