Immortal-Exterminating Divine Venerable

”You look so pleased, Young Master Yang. Did that Ye fellow have a lot of treasure in his Storage Ring?”

Seeing the delighted look on Yang Xiao’s face, Cheng Boxuan couldn’t help but ask.

He wasn’t angling for anything; he was just purely curious.

Yang Xiao nodded. ”It was quite a haul, and I found what I was looking for... Oh? Didn’t you take a look, Study Lord Cheng?”

Cheng Boxuan shook his head. ”I was only able to get my revenge thanks to you, Young Master Yang. Those things aren’t mine. Looking at them would only stir up needless greed. It’s better not to look.”

Hearing this, Yang Xiao couldn’t help but give Cheng Boxuan a thumbs-up.

These days, people who could control their own greed were a rare sight.

Moreover, Cheng Boxuan was a man of loyalty and integrity.

There was no questioning his character.

’When I was first reborn, he took care of me on numerous occasions. I owed him a great deal. Even though the Yang Family rose to prominence later and I repaid most of it, no longer owing him anything...’

’...I still have a very high opinion of him.’

’Since I’m going to establish a faction anyway, why not let him be in charge?’

An idea suddenly struck Yang Xiao, and he asked, ”Study Lord Cheng, what are your plans for the future?”

”Plans?”

Cheng Boxuan was taken aback.

He shook his head.

He truly didn’t have any plans.

Before, his mind had been consumed with getting revenge.

But now that he had his revenge, the Purple Sun Sect was also gone.

What was he to do now? Where could he go?

He felt truly lost.

”If you have nowhere else to go, Study Lord Cheng, why not help me manage things here? I plan to establish a faction on this site.”

”Establish a faction?”

Cheng Boxuan’s interest was piqued.

He was intrigued.

’If Yang Xiao really intends to establish a faction, with his strength, it’s bound to become an extremely powerful one. If I join now, at its inception, my future will surely be bright.’

’I’m a Pharmacist, a Level 4 Peak Great Pharmacist at that. I know full well how important being part of a powerful faction is.’

’If I want to advance further on the Medicine Dao, I need more than just heritage—I need resources.’

’With Yang Xiao’s support, I could definitely go further.’

’Breaking through to become a Fifth-level Great Pharmacist, or even a Sixth-level Great Pharmacist, would be within reach.’

”It looks like you’re willing, Study Lord Cheng. Here are some resources. You can start by going to the Outer Mansion and seeing which of the Outer Disciples want to join us. Let those who are willing stay, and drive away anyone who isn’t. I have some other matters to attend to, but we can discuss the details once I’m finished. For now, I’ll have to trouble you with the initial preparations, Study Lord Cheng.”

Yang Xiao’s tone was very courteous.

His attitude warmed Cheng Boxuan’s heart.

’Even though they had known each other for some time, Yang Xiao’s power now far surpassed his own, yet he still treated him with the same old respect.’

Cheng Boxuan secretly resolved to serve Yang Xiao to the best of his ability in the future.

He was determined to handle this first task perfectly.

So, looking at Yang Xiao, Cheng Boxuan nodded.

He pointed into the distance and said, ”The location the Purple Sun Sect chose is actually excellent. It’s backed by the Celestial Cloud Mountain Range and controls the Celestial Cloud Kingdom, allowing it to project its influence south. You can tell the founding ancestor was a very ambitious person. It’s a shame that over the past seven hundred years, the Purple Sun Sect has only fallen into decline.”

”But in the future,” Yang Xiao declared, ”our power will spread throughout the entire eastern Celestial Cloud Region. The nearby Celestial Cloud Kingdom, Yunshui Kingdom, and Gale Kingdom will all submit to us.”

”The entire eastern Celestial Cloud Region? Wouldn’t that make us even more powerful than the Upper Three Sects?”

Cheng Boxuan was stunned.

But then he thought of Yang Xiao’s strength and felt it was only natural.

’He can easily kill even a Tier Five Middle Grade Barbaric Beast. What’s so difficult about establishing a faction on par with the Upper Three Sects?’

In fact, Yang Xiao’s ambition made Cheng Boxuan even more excited.

’Because this meant his own future path would be wider and more expansive.’

”Then what about Medicine King Valley?”

To become the hegemon of the eastern Celestial Cloud Region, the greatest obstacle was the Medicine King Valley.

That was why Cheng Boxuan had to ask.

Hearing this, Yang Xiao just smiled faintly. ”Just wait a few days. After a few days, you’ll see that Medicine King Valley is nothing to worry about.”

Seeing his mysterious tone, Cheng Boxuan had his doubts, but he ultimately didn’t press the matter.

Yang Xiao handed the resources he had already sorted over to Cheng Boxuan.

A full three hundred Storage Rings.

He placed them in Cheng Boxuan’s hands.

The sheer number startled the man, who considered himself quite worldly.

At the same time, he was inexplicably moved by the trust Yang Xiao had placed in him.

It gave him the feeling of a knight willing to die for a lord who truly appreciated him.

Yang Xiao, however, just smiled faintly and looked up toward the distant Celestial Cloud Mountain Range.

There, a purple-gold figure was growing larger and larger, drawing ever closer.

As it drew near, it was revealed to be a gigantic Purple Gold Cloud Peng Beast.

It was the very same one Yang Xiao had subdued before.

The only difference was that its aura was much stronger than it had been just a few months ago; it had already reached the Peak of Tier Four Mid-grade.

It was comparable to a Martial Artist at the Peak of the Sixth Level of the Martial Grandmaster realm.

In a real fight, even a Martial Artist at the Seventh Layer of the Martial Grandmaster realm would likely be no match for it.

When this big fellow saw Yang Xiao, its eyes filled with a fawning expression, and it cried out joyfully like a puppy.

Yang Xiao couldn’t help but find it amusing.

He patted the big fellow’s head.

”Alright, I’ll be leaving soon. I’m entrusting the safety of this place to you. That man over there is Study Lord Cheng. You are to protect him, even if it costs you your life. Understand?”

The Purple Gold Cloud Peng Beast nodded its head repeatedly.

A few months ago, it had been completely defiant.

It had submitted to Yang Xiao only because he held its life in his hands.

But over the last few months, even though Yang Xiao hadn’t been by its side for a single day, the ball of red flame inside its body had continuously absorbed the world’s Spiritual Qi, refining its physical form.

This had brought it immense benefits.

It would have originally taken at least a century to reach the Peak of Tier Four Mid-grade, but now, it had achieved it in just a few short months.

Even for a giant bird, this was enough to make it submit to Yang Xiao in both heart and mind.

Now, upon hearing his command, it didn’t dare show the slightest disobedience.

”Since you’re being so good, I’ll grant you another boon.”

Yang Xiao smiled, raised a finger and pointed. Instantly, a stream of True Greater Yang Fire surged into the beast’s body, flowing directly into the ball of red flame he had placed there.

With a FWOOSH...

The ball of red flame turned orange.

The aura around the Purple Gold Cloud Peng Beast swelled instantly.

It had actually broken through.

It broke through to Tier Four Upper Grade.

This scene left Cheng Boxuan utterly dumbfounded.

His understanding of Yang Xiao’s abilities deepened yet again.

”Alright, I’m leaving this place to you two. I’ll be off now.”

After saying his piece, Yang Xiao paid no mind to the Purple Gold Cloud Peng Beast’s advancement. The Profound Feather Divine Technique unfurled behind him, and he vanished over the horizon.

「Seven days later.」

The Purple Gold Cloud Peng Beast successfully completed its advancement.

Meanwhile, Cheng Boxuan, who had been hard at work developing the new faction, received some news.

The Medicine King Valley, one of the Upper Three Sects.

The Sect with the most ancient heritage in the Celestial Cloud Region had been completely annihilated overnight.

He recalled what Yang Xiao had said before he left.

A chill went through Cheng Boxuan’s heart.

But this was immediately followed by a wave of incredible excitement.

’Young Master Yang is truly a man of incredible means!’

’Following him, the future is bound to be limitless.’

At that very moment, Yang Xiao himself had appeared in a hidden location near the Medicine King Valley.

It was the exact spot where he had arranged to meet Lu Fangliang...
