Immortal-Exterminating Divine Venerable

Yue Lingxi’s current strength was at the True Intent Peak.

This was equivalent to a Peak Martial Saint in the Celestial Cloud Region.

Furthermore, her methods were formidable. Even a Peak Martial Saint would not necessarily be her match.

A casual flick of her wrist unleashed an endless torrent of Supreme Yin Qi, which formed a massive, nimble hand that shot toward the Profound Sun Order on Yang Xiao.

She was determined to have it.

’She’s strong, but what a shame. She’s too arrogant.’

Yang Xiao saw her intention at a glance.

If it were some ordinary object, he might have let it go.

But this Profound Sun Order belonged to his junior brother. Yang Xiao had no intention of losing it so inexplicably.

Especially not to this woman.

She had attacked him without a word of warning.

Although there was no killing intent, Yang Xiao was still extremely displeased.

’I saved her life, after all.’ He wasn’t about to indulge someone who treated her savior this way.

So, even though he knew his current strength was no match for hers, Yang Xiao was not one to sit back and wait for doom. With a flash, his body flickered.

Activating the Profound Feather Divine Technique, Yang Xiao instantly shot several miles away.

In that instant, Yue Lingxi’s grab met nothing but air.

”Oh? You have a few tricks up your sleeve? But you’re still too weak!”

A flicker of surprise crossed Yue Lingxi’s icy gaze, but it quickly turned to indifference. Without any visible movement from her, the giant hand of Supreme Yin tore through the void at a speed invisible to the naked eye.

Its target, of course, was Yang Xiao.

BAM!

This time, Yang Xiao couldn’t dodge.

He had clearly sensed the danger, but its speed was simply too great.

There was no way for him to evade it.

He was sent flying in an instant.

Yang Xiao landed on the ground, his expression grim.

He wasn’t injured.

But deep within, his immense pride had been provoked.

”Hand over the Profound Sun Order, and I might spare your life. Otherwise, you know you can’t escape my grasp!” Yue Lingxi declared imperiously.

Her words only made the chill in Yang Xiao’s heart grow, his expression turning even colder.

”The Profound Sun Order is an unowned object. It belongs to whoever holds it. If you want it, you’ll have to kill me first!” Yang Xiao sneered.

It had been years since anyone had dared to threaten him like this.

Even since his rebirth, when his strength was at its absolute nadir and anyone could bully him, he had never felt as powerless as he did at this moment.

The young woman before him was clearly about his age.

Yet her power could completely crush him.

He couldn’t even dodge her attacks.

How could Yang Xiao possibly be willing to admit defeat?

He had never been one to concede!

And he certainly wouldn’t bow to threats.

”How stubborn!”

Yue Lingxi was starting to get angry now.

’This brat saved me, yes, but he’s also been incredibly insolent. In my mind, he was already an infuriating, detestable person. And now he refuses to hand over the Profound Sun Order, which I nearly died to obtain? Does he really think I wouldn’t dare kill him?’

At this thought, Yue Lingxi stopped speaking. She raised her hand and sent a palm strike flying toward Yang Xiao.

This palm strike was even faster than the last.

But Yang Xiao was prepared this time.

The Profound Feather Divine Technique activated, and he shot off in a specific direction.

BAM!

Once again, Yang Xiao was struck by the palm.

The force of this palm was several times stronger than the previous strike.

Yet, Yang Xiao remained unharmed.

Instead, he used the momentum to fly directly into the Nine Nether Evil Qi.

He laughed tauntingly. ”Hey, girlie, come and get me if you’ve got the guts! But this time, I won’t be saving you!”

With that, the wings behind Yang Xiao unfurled, and he flew deeper into the mists.

This scene made Yue Lingxi grind her teeth in frustration.

She stamped her foot but didn’t follow him in.

Before, when she delved into the Nine Nether Earth Rift, she had been protected by her master’s Protective Light Shield. But even then, she hadn’t been able to retreat unscathed after obtaining the Profound Sun Order.

She had been struck by an Evil Pearl and knocked unconscious.

That was how Yang Xiao had found her.

Now, without her master’s Protective Light Shield, she doubted she could take even a single step inside on her own.

Unless... she had the Profound Sun Order.

’Damn thief.’

Yue Lingxi figured the only reason Yang Xiao dared to enter was because he had the Profound Sun Order.

This naturally made her even more furious.

Staring at the roiling Nine Nether Evil Qi, she decided not to leave.

’This Saintess refuses to believe you can hide in there forever!’

”Hmph! How dare he call me ’girlie’! When you come out, this Saintess will be sure to teach you a proper lesson!”

Yue Lingxi’s pretty face flushed red with anger.

Meanwhile, Yang Xiao stopped not long after entering the region of Nine Nether Evil Qi.

’Huh... This seems a little easier than before.’

Yang Xiao sensed that something was off.

Previously, when he had entered the Nine Nether Evil Qi, it hadn’t been easy despite the protection of his True Greater Yang Fire. At the very least, he would have been powerless to resist if he had encountered a Nine Nether Evil Pearl.

But now... he found that the damage the Nine Nether Evil Qi inflicted on him was reduced by at least thirty percent.

This thirty percent reduction was not to be underestimated. It meant that as long as Yang Xiao didn’t encounter Upper Eighth Grade Nine Nether Evil Qi or Nine Nether Evil Pearls condensed into a solid state, he could just about manage to endure.

This would allow him to go even further.

To explore the Nine Nether Earth Rift.

’Judging from the situation, that crazy woman most likely found this Profound Sun Order here. Perhaps the depths have something to do with that little fellow, Profound Sun.’

A thought struck Yang Xiao.

When their auras had blended before, he had taken the opportunity to investigate her completely.

He hadn’t found any other treasures on her person.

She must have come to the Nine Nether Earth Rift to search for treasure. Moreover, judging by the location and her orientation when she fainted, she had been on her way out.

She was likely returning after a successful expedition.

In that case, it was highly probable that the Profound Sun Order was what she had obtained from within.

This was another reason why Yang Xiao didn’t want to hand over the Profound Sun Order.

He had initially saved her because he thought she might have some connection to his junior brother, Profound Sun.

But now it seemed this woman had little to do with his junior brother.

The Nine Nether Earth Rift, on the other hand...

’But before I go any deeper, I need to master the final part of the Nine Yang Celestial Skill’s Basic Chapter.’

With this thought, Yang Xiao activated the power within the Profound Sun Order.

It formed a protective barrier around him.

Yang Xiao sat down cross-legged.

He began to temper his own Soul.

He needed to become stronger.

Only by becoming stronger could he get to the bottom of this.

And only by becoming stronger would he have a chance to escape from that madwoman.

Otherwise, given her temperament, there was no way Yang Xiao could leave this place.

Therefore, even in this place of certain death, Yang Xiao decided to attempt the ninth chapter—the most difficult part of the Nine Yang Celestial Skill’s Basic Chapter—and master it.

’Tempering the Soul is extremely dangerous. But I refuse to believe that, having been reborn, I can’t even accomplish this.’

Yang Xiao’s will was resolute.

He instantly channeled the True Greater Yang Fire within his body, directing it toward his own Soul.

The moment it rushed in, his expression changed drastically.
