Fated to My Billionaire Husband

Capítulo 1878: Chapter 1878: I Don’t Need You to Submit to Me

No matter how reluctant she was, he still held her firmly and walked towards the mountain.

Mo Lan was so angry that she didn’t even have the thought to resist.

She closed her eyes in irritation, only calming her inner turmoil after a while.

“Put me down, I’ll walk myself.”

“With me as your free transportation, just enjoy it.” Qi Ruigang adjusted her body and held her steadily, walking for more than ten minutes without gasping for breath.

“I’m not used to you holding me,” Mo Lan said directly.

Qi Ruigang glanced at her and said blandly, “Then get used to it.”

The mountain was very quiet, with no one around.

In the forest, only their voices could be heard.

Mo Lan looked at his resolute chin and said coolly, “Why are you doing this? There can never be anything between us. I won’t accept you, no matter how much effort you put in. Qi Ruigang, if you truly care for me, divorce me and let me go. Only by leaving you will I be truly well.”

Qi Ruigang’s jaw tightened, “If I let you go, what about me?”

Mo Lan mocked, “Don’t act as if you can’t live without me. There are many women lining up to marry you. You can have any type of woman you want, including my type. You really shouldn’t waste time on me. If you just let go, you’ll realize that you can have everything you want.”

“What is it that I want?” Qi Ruigang asked.

“A woman who loves you, submits to you unconditionally, and will never betray you. Such women absolutely exist, and they’re surely excellent. Qi Ruigang, with a beckon of your finger, she’ll come.”

Qi Ruigang pursed his lips, “You’re right. I used to need that type of woman.”

He liked fragile women, looking like rabbits, very gentle and weak, easily arousing the beast~like strength within him.

But…

“But I don’t need that kind of woman anymore. The woman I need is only you,” Qi Ruigang said with conviction.

Mo Lan said coldly, “Think it through. I will not submit to you, nor will I fall in love with you!”

“I don’t need you to submit to me…” Qi Ruigang paused, then continued, “As for whether you’ll fall in love with me, no one knows.”

“So you’re planning to hold onto this illusory hope forever?”

“How is it illusory hope? If I work hard, it’s not illusory. I’m working hard right now.” Qi Ruigang gave her a smile, Mo Lan turned her gaze away, refusing to accept his smile.

Afterwards, neither of them spoke.

Mo Lan had no mind to talk to him; whatever she said, he wouldn’t listen. She didn’t want to waste her breath.

Qi Ruigang focused on holding her and continued walking.

He seemed devout, taking each step with seriousness.

He thought, perhaps if he tried a bit harder, worked a bit more seriously, he might move Mo Lan a little more.

…

After walking for about an hour, they finally saw a statue of the Goddess of Mercy.

Qi Ruigang set Mo Lan down. The hour-long journey had made him sweat a little.

He took her hand and approached the Goddess of Mercy of Love statue.

It was just a simple clay figure, surrounded by a space built with blue bricks, shielding it from the elements.

In front of the statue, there was a censer for incense and candles. Inside the censer, some incense and candles had burned to ashes, indicating that some people still came up to worship.

Not far from the statue, there was a small wooden house, perhaps for people to rest.
