Fated to My Billionaire Husband

Chapter 1686: Chapter 1686: His Father’s Surname is Ruan

If Nangong Xu inherits the family, the descendants of Nangong Longer will all benefit greatly and gain more advantages.

But if that happens, the descendants of Nangong Longyi will gradually be suppressed.

Jian Yufei was confused, wouldn’t the descendants of Nangong Longyi have something to say?

As she was thinking this, someone sitting on her side voiced opposition.

“I oppose! Nangong Xu indeed has the ability to manage the entire family. If Ansel didn’t exist, he would be the most suitable candidate. But Ansel is the one truly capable of inheriting the position of Family Head; he’s just young now. With proper nurturing, his abilities will not be inferior to those of Nangong Xu.”

With someone leading the opposition, many others followed suit.

“That’s right, the ancestral rules cannot be abolished; only Ansel can inherit our Nangong Family!”

“The Old Master also said that Ansel is the heir; do you all want to openly defy the Old Master’s words?”

The people across sneered, “Ansel is indeed a descendant of the Old Master, but you all must not forget, his father’s surname is Ruan, not Nangong. If Ansel inherits the family, who knows what the family name will be in the future. Ansel can inherit the family, but only if the Ruan Family is eradicated to ensure there are no future troubles. Only then can we secure the interests of our Nangong Family.”

Jian Yufei’s eyes turned cold; for a mere position, did they think anyone would really crave it?

Ruan Tianling didn’t care at all about the Nangong Family’s affairs; don’t think that everyone desires these powers and positions.

She was about to speak when Qi Ruisen subtly held her back, so she had to restrain herself.

“Eradicate the Ruan Family?” Someone sneered, “You make it sound easy; if we eradicate the Ruan Family, won’t Ansel become our adversary? Are you indirectly forcing Ansel to rebel?!”

“We’re just speaking the truth. If the Nangong Family changes its surname, none of us sitting here can expect to live peacefully for the rest of our days!”

“Ansel grew up in the castle, and he has changed his surname to Nangong as well. He has nothing to do with the Ruan Family now!”

“Nothing to do? I heard that Ansel didn’t go missing but instead returned to the Ruan Family. Who can guarantee that his father won’t use him to seize the entire Nangong Family?”

“Everyone sitting here holds a certain amount of power. Do you really think highly of Ruan Tianling? Do you believe they can handle so many of us?”

“Better safe than sorry! In conclusion, choosing Nangong Xu to inherit the family is the best and most sensible decision!”

“Ansel is the only legitimate heir!”

“Nangong Xu is the most capable; he has the qualifications to inherit…”

Both sides quickly began to argue. Nangong Xu sat calmly and collectedly, expressing no opinions.

Jian Yufei also remained silent. Since he stayed put, why should she step forward?

“Everyone quiet!” Finally, an elder with the most age and graying hair solemnly interrupted their argument.

Because he was the oldest and had experienced many things, everyone held a certain degree of respect for him.

The elder stood up shakily, exuding authority without anger, and said, “We are all descendants of the Nangong Family. How does it look for our own family to be in chaos? No matter what you say, we still need to hear Axu’s opinion.”

He looked at Nangong Xu and asked him, “Axu, what do you think of this matter? Do you think you’re more fit to inherit the family, or is it Ansel?”
