She Lives without Regret in This Life

He had heard his sister talk about Gu Yuehong many times, but he never knew Gu Yuehong was such a dangerous character. With someone like this, his sister, so naive, shouldn’t be allowed to play with her anymore.

She wouldn’t even know if she was being sold.

Zhu Meihua’s eyes lit up, ”You’re making a good point.” Gu Yunbo still had use for her and didn’t want to easily drive her away unless absolutely necessary.

”If Simin is willing to forgive her, I have no objections.”

”Then I’m leaving.”

Ping Qing took a flashlight to send Gu Yuehong back.

The Gu Family had their own house in the compound, but with a large family and a small house, they couldn’t all fit, so they stayed in the ancestral home. Riding a bicycle would take an hour. During the day, a bunch of young people would play crazily; riding bicycles all the way here felt like nothing.

Ping Qing rode a bicycle to send her back, because he was preoccupied with finding Gu Yunbo, he rode faster.

The area beside the compound was pitch dark at night, Shi Chunlan borrowed a flashlight from the house next door, Coach Zhao’s house, and searched from inside the compound to outside. Then she remembered Yun Bo liked to exercise at night and went to the area.

Sure enough, there was someone doing a handstand on the parallel bars.

”Yun Bo?”

The person doing the handstand suddenly flipped over and easily sat on the parallel bars.

Shi Chunlan was startled, ”Yun Bo, are you alright? We all heard about what happened this afternoon, I believe you.”

”I’m okay.”

Her voice sounded just like usual, and Shi Chunlan quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

”Did you eat? I brought you some white steamed buns, my mom just made them this evening. I couldn’t bear to eat them, saved them especially for you.”

”Thank you.” Gu Yunbo reached out to take the bun and ate it bite by bite. Sweat had soaked through her clothes, and the autumn chill cut right through when the cold wind blew.

”No... you’re welcome.” Shi Chunlan hesitated, not knowing what to say. She hadn’t known Gu Yunbo for long, but she really liked her; seeing her made her feel comfortable.

”Why? Are you feeling sorry for me?”

”No... not at all.”

”Then are you afraid of me?”

”Of course not,” Shi Chunlan quickly waved her hands, ”I believe you’re not trying to kill anyone, I know you’re a good person.”

”Wrong!” Gu Yunbo finished the last bite of bun, stuck for a moment before speaking. ”At that moment, I really wanted to kill her.” The previous life’s hatreds were something she was trying to let go of, but thinking was one thing, doing was tough.

Especially when someone kept reopening the wound.

Shi Chunlan was almost in tears, ”Yun Bo, don’t scare me like that, don’t speak of yourself this way.”

”Let her speak.” A man’s angry voice sounded, scaring Shi Chunlan so much her hand trembled, quickly hiding behind Gu Yunbo.

Ping Qing stood in the dark like a ghost, only his eyes gleamed with fury, appearing definitely frightening.

”Who are you? Don’t scare people.” Shi Chunlan didn’t recognize his voice and asked boldly.

”It’s Ping Qing,” Gu Yunbo said quietly.

This scared Shi Chunlan even more; she wasn’t stupid and quickly thought Ping Qing was there to avenge his sister.

”You should go back!” There was no need to involve Shi Chunlan in the trouble she caused.

Shi Chunlan was somewhat worried, but with Gu Yunbo’s insistence, she could only repeatedly remind her before leaving.

Ping Qing, who had been standing silently in the dark, now was staring at her intently. He had heard every word she said to Shi Chunlan, not missing a single one.
