From the Metropolis to the Strongest in the Cosmos

Yangyuan Emperor hesitated.

After all, Luoyu had the Zun Lie Clan behind him. Who knew what Zun Lie Venerable’s attitude was?

What kind of existence was Zun Lie Venerable? He was a top-tier Emperor of the Human Race, only a step away from becoming an Overlord. Killing an ordinary Emperor like him would be effortless—a one-shot kill, even.

He didn’t want to do anything that might even slightly provoke Zun Lie Venerable.

Although he knew Zun Lie Venerable would probably not get involved in this matter, Yangyuan Emperor remained extremely cautious.

On one hand, there was resolving the conflict with Li Yang. On the other, there was the slight possibility of provoking Zun Lie Venerable. After a moment of thought, Yangyuan Emperor made his decision.

’I won’t get involved with Li Yang. Let him and Luoyu of the Zun Lie Clan resolve their own issues. I’m staying out of it,’ Yangyuan Emperor thought to himself.

Clearly, he was unwilling to help Li Yang. Even though Li Yang’s Talent was extremely high, he simply didn’t carry enough weight compared to the Zun Lie Clan.

With this in mind, Yangyuan Emperor commanded, ”Fire Spirit.”

SWOOSH!

Inside the palace, a flaming Deity appeared, his entire body seemingly wreathed in fire.

”Go out and tell Li Yang that I’ve decided to enter seclusion. I won’t be seeing anyone for the time being.”

The Blade Slaughter Sect Master had sent him a message requesting his help. Even as an Emperor, he had to give some kind of response; he couldn’t just ignore it.

”Yes, Emperor.” The Divine Fire Spirit nodded respectfully. With a flicker, his figure reappeared outside.

”Lord Fire Spirit.”

Li Yang was waiting outside the palace. Upon seeing Fire Spirit, he quickly spoke up. A look of anticipation was in his eyes. Fire Spirit’s arrival meant that Yangyuan Emperor had surely made a decision.

’Will Yangyuan Emperor be willing to help me?’

”Li Yang.” Fire Spirit looked at Li Yang and said, ”His Majesty the Emperor says he is about to enter seclusion and will not be seeing you for the time being.”

”Seclusion?”

Hearing this, Li Yang instantly understood. Yangyuan Emperor was unwilling to interfere in the matter between him and Luoyu.

”I understand. Thank you for informing me, Lord Fire Spirit,” Li Yang said, nodding respectfully.

Li Yang was clearly disappointed.

If the Emperors within the Yangyuan Empire weren’t willing to help him, the Emperors of other Star Continents would have even less reason to do so.

Faced with Luoyu’s blatant threats, he was left with no good options.

”Mm,” Fire Spirit nodded. He was just about to say something else.

SWOOSH!

Suddenly, another Deity appeared in the distance. This Deity was a middle-aged man from the Dragon-man Race. Seeing him, Fire Spirit couldn’t help but say, ”Long Yu?”

’The Deity Long Yu?’

Li Yang also heard the name, and his heart stirred.

Before he came to see Yangyuan Emperor and Emperor Sword Mark, the Blade Slaughter Sect Master had told him about some of the Deities under the two Emperors. Among them, Fire Spirit was Yangyuan Emperor’s most valued subordinate, while the Deity Long Yu served Emperor Sword Mark.

’Did Emperor Sword Mark see the message my master sent?’ Li Yang couldn’t help but wonder, a glimmer of hope rekindling in his eyes.

Emperor Sword Mark was out exploring the cosmos. Even if he saw the message, it wasn’t guaranteed that he would enter the Virtual World.

”Haha, Fire Spirit, you’re here too?”

Long Yu saw the Deity and smiled. Then he turned to Li Yang, a smile still on his face, and said, ”Li Yang, His Majesty the Emperor has asked me to bring you to him.”

Hearing this, a look of joy instantly appeared in Li Yang’s eyes. He quickly replied, ”Yes, Lord Deity.”

’Since he’s willing to see me, Emperor Sword Mark should be willing to help. Otherwise, why would he have me brought over just to reject me in person?’

Li Yang followed behind Long Yu, heading toward a palace.

Behind them, the Divine Fire Spirit watched their retreating figures.

’Emperor Sword Mark wants to see Li Yang?’

The Divine Fire Spirit thought to himself, ’From the looks of it, Li Yang was here to request an audience with our Emperor as well. I wonder what it was about?’

He knew nothing about Luoyu dispatching Deities to Earth. Yangyuan Emperor hadn’t mentioned it to him, so he was completely in the dark as to why Li Yang had come seeking an audience.

’Still, I should inform His Majesty the Emperor that Emperor Sword Mark is meeting with Li Yang,’ Fire Spirit thought, and re-entered the palace.

On the massive throne, Yangyuan Emperor looked at Fire Spirit and asked, ”You’re saying Long Yu took Li Yang to see Emperor Sword Mark?”

”Yes, Your Majesty,” Fire Spirit said respectfully.

Yangyuan Emperor fell silent for a moment before saying, ”I see. You may leave.”

”Yes.” The Divine Fire Spirit didn’t dare say more and left immediately.

Within the vast palace, Yangyuan Emperor was left alone.

’Is Sword Mark planning to help Li Yang?’

Yangyuan Emperor wondered silently, ’Doesn’t he know that helping Li Yang is equivalent to provoking the Zun Lie Clan?’

Even at their level, there were people they feared. When they met such individuals, they were filled with awe and acted with utmost respect. Zun Lie Venerable was clearly one of those people.

’Forget it. Let Sword Mark and Li Yang do as they please. As long as I don’t get involved, the trouble won’t find its way to me,’ Yangyuan Emperor thought, shaking his head.

As an ancient being who had been an Emperor for countless years, Yangyuan Emperor was cautious in everything he did.

「…」

Meanwhile, Li Yang followed behind the Deity Long Yu and soon arrived at a new location.

Upon arriving, Li Yang’s gaze immediately fell upon a figure up ahead with a longsword strapped to his back. The figure looked quite young, thirty years old at most.

He wore purple armor, and his face was adorned with violet mystic patterns. His entire being radiated a sharp aura, as if he were a sword himself.

’So this is Emperor Sword Mark? The newest Emperor-level expert of our Human Race?’ Li Yang thought to himself.

This very Sword Mark was the most recent expert from the Human Race to break through to the Emperor level.

As Li Yang was observing Emperor Sword Mark, Emperor Sword Mark was also looking back at him, smiling. ”Li Yang?”

As soon as he spoke, Li Yang immediately said respectfully, ”Greetings, Emperor Sword Mark.”

”Haha, we’re from the same Star Continent. There’s no need for such formalities,” Emperor Sword Mark said with a smile.

”I heard that Fire Spirit, the one under Yangyuan Emperor, came to see you. What did he say?” Emperor Sword Mark looked at Li Yang and unexpectedly asked this question.

Li Yang answered truthfully, ”Lord Fire Spirit said that Yangyuan Emperor is preparing for seclusion and will not be seeing anyone for the time being.”

”Seclusion?”

Hearing Li Yang’s words, Sword Mark suddenly laughed. ”That Yangyuan Emperor is still the same. Timid, afraid of trouble, and utterly fickle.”

”Er...” Hearing Emperor Sword Mark’s words, Li Yang was stunned. ’Was that Emperor Sword Mark’s assessment of Yangyuan Emperor?’

Li Yang didn’t know about other matters, but when it came to Celestial Net, Yangyuan Emperor had indeed been rather inconsistent—one moment ordering Celestial Net’s capture, the next ordering his release.

Even though Sword Mark said this, Li Yang didn’t dare to agree, and simply stood respectfully to the side.

Not dwelling on Yangyuan Emperor, Emperor Sword Mark said, ”Li Yang, your master from the Blade Slaughter Sect has already told me about your situation. I will contact Split Flame and the others shortly and tell them not to threaten you using Earth.”

Upon hearing this, a look of delight immediately spread across Li Yang’s face. He quickly said, ”Thank you, Lord Emperor Sword Mark.”
