From the Metropolis to the Strongest in the Cosmos

Luoyu knew Li Yang wouldn’t be imprisoned for long.

Still, even this brief imprisonment was deeply satisfying to him.

’Li Yang, it seems quite a few people are watching you. They ran to Kunyu Emperor so quickly to demand your release,’ Luoyu thought.

’I’d like to see just how far you can grow. The path to power is not an easy one.’

The Talent he had displayed back then, while not quite on par with Mixed Void’s or Li Yang’s, wasn’t far behind. He had nearly passed the twelfth step of the Divine Path within a hundred years of reaching the Longevity Realm.

Even so, he had to struggle immensely to reach his current level.

He wasn’t the least bit afraid of Li Yang surpassing him in the future and coming to settle the score.

His ancestor, Zun Lie Venerable, was only a single step from the Dominator realm and was even the disciple of that terrifying being from the Saint Realm of Martial Dao who had surpassed the Dominators… He, Luoyu, feared no one.

...

Meanwhile, Li Yang and the others were still under guard inside the palace.

A thin membrane enveloped the entire palace, preventing them from leaving.

HUM...

Suddenly, a ripple passed through the air, and the membrane vanished. The Deity who had imprisoned Li Yang walked over with a broad smile. ”Li Yang,” he said, ”an order came down from on high. You are free to leave.”

He added apologetically, ”Li Yang, I was just following orders...”

A peerless genius like Li Yang... once he reached his full potential, his power would far surpass this Deity’s.

Even though he had only been following orders when he imprisoned Li Yang, there was no guarantee Li Yang wouldn’t hold a grudge.

No one in this Cosmos was a fool. It was best to apologize to Li Yang now; otherwise, if Li Yang held a grudge, he would surely suffer for it later.

Although killing was forbidden within the Human Race, internal strife was still common.

”I know,” Li Yang nodded, saying nothing more.

He, Hei Xu, Jun Yue, and Shen Xuan left the palace.

After they left, Li Yang entered the Virtual World.

”Master, I’m out,” Li Yang said.

The Blade Slaughter Sect Master nodded. ”Li Yang, five people from our Eternal Saint Hall intervened on your behalf, including Longyan Emperor and Ci Huan Emperor. You should send them all messages to express your gratitude.”

Since these Emperors had intervened for him, it was only natural that Li Yang should show his appreciation.

”I understand, Master,” Li Yang nodded.

The Emperors who had intervened for him, such as Longyan Emperor, all had some connection to him. Perhaps he had purchased one of their secret manuals, or there were other reasons.

However, among the five Emperors, the one who should have been closest to him—the Yangyuan Emperor—was conspicuously absent.

Li Yang didn’t mind. He and the Yangyuan Emperor were both from the Yangyuan Empire, but their relationship wasn’t very good.

After speaking with the Blade Slaughter Sect Master and thanking the five Emperors, Li Yang logged out of the Virtual World.

”Li Yang, where are we headed now? Back to Earth?” Hei Xu asked.

Li Yang shook his head. ”I’m heading to the Beast Origin Sect.”

”The Beast Origin Sect?” Hei Xu and Jun Yue exchanged a look.

Li Yang had just been captured at the Beast Origin Sect, and the place was now swarming with Deities from the Human Race. Why would he go back?

While they were puzzled, Soul Ink’s voice rang out, ”Not bad, kid. You haven’t forgotten about the Gold-devouring Insect.”

That was right. Li Yang was heading back to the Beast Origin Sect for the Gold-devouring Insect.

If a Gold-devouring Insect mother insect was nurtured to the Divine Realm, every insect it spawned would have power somewhere between the World Realm and the Divine Realm. In sufficient numbers, they could threaten any Deity!

According to Soul Ink, possessing a Gold-devouring Insect mother insect was tantamount to being invincible in the Divine Realm; no Deity would dare to provoke its owner.

”Even a powerful Emperor would find an endless army of Gold-devouring Insects to be a handful.”

Li Yang had originally planned to search for the Gold-devouring Insect inside the Beast Origin Sect, but the arrival of the Human Race’s experts had forced him to leave temporarily.

But before he could even get away, a huge number of Human Race experts had descended and captured him.

Now that he was free, he naturally had to return to the Beast Origin Sect and take a look.

This time, there would be no obstacles. He could search as he pleased, right alongside the numerous Human Race experts who were also combing the area.

’Of course I wouldn’t forget a treasure like the Gold-devouring Insect,’ Li Yang replied to Soul Ink.

As he spoke with Soul Ink in his mind, Li Yang turned to Shen Xuan. ”Shen Xuan,” he asked, ”are you coming with me to the Beast Origin Sect?”

Shen Xuan shook his head. ”No, Li Yang. I’m going back to the Profound Origin Sect. I’m going to revive my wife.”

While they were imprisoned, Li Yang had given the Soul Awakening Grass to Shen Xuan.

”Revive her?”

Li Yang nodded. ”In that case, Brother, let’s part ways here.”

Shen Xuan must have been anxious to return home.

”Alright.” Shen Xuan nodded and flew off into the distance.

Watching Shen Xuan’s figure disappear, Li Yang turned back. ”Jun Yue, Hei Xu,” he said, ”let’s go. We’re heading to the Beast Origin Sect.”

Soon, the three of them arrived at their destination.

The Beast Origin Sect was now a desolate ruin. There was no one else there, only Deities of the Human Race flying endlessly through the void.

”It’s Li Yang’s group.”

”Li Yang was imprisoned. How is he out already?”

”He was released incredibly quickly.”

”The Human Race’s Eternal Saint Hall must have stepped in. They truly value him.”

”Heh, a monstrous Talent like him would be valued anywhere, wouldn’t he?”

Seeing Li Yang appear, the surrounding experts immediately began to discuss among themselves via divine transmission.

”Haha, Li Yang!”

”Li Yang, hello! I’m Yan Lie. I once adventured with your master, Blade Slaughter.”

Many other Deities flew over to greet him as well.

Unlike Luoyu, who had an intimidating background, Li Yang was a man of immense potential, and these Deities were naturally eager to build a connection with him.

”Hello, everyone,” Li Yang replied with a smile, greeting the powerful Deities as they approached.

’So Li Yang is quite popular.’

Not far away, Luoyu flew over and glanced in Li Yang’s direction. His expression was indifferent, but a trace of disdain flickered in the depths of his eyes.

’Is a mere weakling at the Star Lord Realm truly worth all this fawning?’

He ignored Li Yang completely and flew off to search another area.

Li Yang saw Luoyu as well. His expression remained unchanged, but his eyes grew cold.

He clearly harbored no goodwill toward Luoyu.

”Haha, Li Yang, we’re all searching for what’s left of the Beast Origin Sect’s belongings!”

”You should search too! Who knows what you might find.”

”The main treasury has already been emptied, but there might be other treasures hidden by the Beast Origin Sect. If you find anything, it’s yours to keep.”

A number of Deities said with a laugh.
