Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 935: Chapter 933: Prism (Six) Chapter 935: Chapter 933: Prism (Six) “What are you doing?”

Among all the exclamations, Lady Star’s voice was undoubtedly the loudest.

And the question that followed was full of shock and anger.

As for how much was for the sake of Adele, and how much for the team’s safety, it was difficult to determine specifically.

Lady Qing and the Death Row inmates, looking equally shocked, had all trained their weapons on Masked Man.

One moment he had been persuading kindly, and the next, he had struck down with a deadly blow unexpectedly; having such a fickle and dangerous person as a teammate undoubtedly made everyone feel insecure.

This included Brother Red Dragon, who looked the most mature and composed, his hand also resting on his Cyber Blade Spear.

The six-person team that had just formed was now facing a team crisis.

“Do you suspect she might have been lying?”

Looking down at Adele, who lay on her back with terror still etched on her young face, Red Dragon hesitated slightly, searching for a reason for Masked Man’s actions.

Clearly, he did not want the team to disintegrate at such a rapid pace.

“Not at all.”

Unfortunately, Masked Man was completely unappreciative, rearming his hand crossbow carefully while rejecting the excuse Red Dragon had offered for him.

“I think Adele was quite cooperative and shared the information she knew honestly.”

“Then why did you still have to kill her?”

Lady Qing’s voice was emotionless, her hand holding a short bow that could unleash its cold, triangular arrowheads in an instant.

“Not lying doesn’t mean the information brought is true… luckily, she can still help us with a test.”

Masked Man had by now put away his weapon, speaking in a mild tone and shaking his head. He seemed to disregard the imminent threat, his gaze falling on Fu Qian.

In response to that sudden turn, Fu Qian showed no reaction, leaving Henry the Kitty with no chance to escape.

“What do you mean by that—”

At this point, because of Masked Man’s cryptic response, Lady Star’s anger could no longer be contained.

However, her voice was quickly drowned out by a roar.

Accompanied by this sound, which was unlike anything human, Adele’s previously twitching body now suddenly became violently active.

With her hands placed on the ground at bizarre angles, she managed to prop her body upright in the next instant.

At the same time, something glowing faintly seemed to surge out of the hole in her forehead.

Whoosh!

The sound of air being cleaved rang out as Lady Qing’s bow swiftly pivoted and she shot without hesitation.

From above, the arrow pierced directly through Adele’s right shoulder, pinning her down to the ground.

The reaction was decidedly resolute, but Adele displayed clearly superhuman traits, her body bending like a bow, struggling violently without showing any sign of pain as she tried to escape her confines.

At the same time, the glowing substance oozing from her head not only covered half her face but even began accumulating in strands above her head.

At one glance, it appeared like a rapidly developing cluster of antlers.

“It looks like the situation is not as beautiful as this young lady thought.”

Masked Man commented, shaking his head, in admiration of the scene unfolding.

Lady Star was initially stunned, but as she regained her composure, her hands flashed with cold light, throwing two small Throwing Knives that pinned down Adele’s hands.

Bang!

At that moment, even the sound of gunfire rang out.

The one who made a move wasn’t Fu Qian, but the least talkative prisoner.

It was clear that the sudden mutation had convinced him that the color was not harmless, and some kind of anomaly had already built up inside Adele’s body.

However, even as the situation turned erratic, the group still demonstrated professionalism, choosing ranged attacks against an unknown, peculiar contamination.

And although the prisoner’s shot was a bit off, Adele’s body still lost half of her face.

Unfortunately, it didn’t seem to have much effect; not only did the body not stop struggling, but the luminescence in the head even seemed on the verge of erupting.

Just then, a harsh scraping sound came.

Without the Armstrong Cyclone Cannon at his disposal, Brother Red Dragon didn’t rashly close in for hand-to-hand combat. Instead, he ran to one side, calculated the angle, and pushed over a cabinet, crashing it solidly onto Adele’s body.

Under the heavy weight, her movements finally slowed, and then gradually stilled.

But even so, from the gap, that glowing light could still be seen spreading outwards as if it had a life of its own.

“Although there are no obvious Extraordinary Traits, the aggression is slightly higher, and with our current physique, we probably wouldn’t withstand a surprise attack.”

The first to make a move, the Masked Man, who had been nearly just an observer up until now, commented languidly as he faced the teammates whose attitudes had quickly shifted.

“It seems this pervasive color does indeed present a problem. Adele shouldn’t have come back.”

At this moment, Brother Red Dragon also nodded, agreeing with his view.

“And we need to find its source.”

With that, the Masked Man confirmed that the group’s mission was indeed aligned.

“Judging by the details mentioned by Adele, she had been back for only a few hours, which is also the amount of time she was exposed to this kind of light.”

Lady Qing’s gaze landed on Adele’s ankle protruding from under the cabinet. She had clearly adjusted her mentality, speaking with a somewhat heavy voice as she analyzed.

“That means we don’t have much time.”

“One must always look on the bright side, at least it didn’t happen while we were on the move.”

Lady Star also came back to herself, imagining a possible scenario that could have unfolded.

“Lady Qing is right; we’d better get moving fast.”

However, before she could finish speaking, her gaze again became fixed, staring blankly at the prisoner.

After firing the short gun once, he had now turned the barrel straight at Fu Qian.

“Why didn’t you make a move just now?”

The next moment, he coldly asked this question.

Just for that? Surely it couldn’t be!

For a moment, everyone was somewhat surprised.

Although this sixth person had indeed been too calm just now, just standing there stroking a cat and watching; it still shouldn’t be a reason to turn weapons against one another.

“Considering my codename, Guansi.”

Facing the dark muzzle, Fu Qian remained unfazed, nonchalantly talking nonsense.

“With the five of you here, I thought I might as well just watch.”

As he spoke, his hand had already grasped Mercy, and the Tranquilizer had long been tucked into his pocket.

Having observed earlier, this guy’s shooting skills weren’t high; he himself could totally consider making a move and shoot a headshot.

Of course, Brother prisoner should be grateful for this, because if it wasn’t for this reason, he would have been headshot the moment he turned the gun.

“Alright, now is not the time to be causing trouble with our own people.”

Faced with the suddenly tense situation, Lady Star could finally not keep her displeasure at bay, scolding in a suppressed voice.

“Who said I’m causing trouble?”

Brother prisoner just sneered coldly, slightly adjusting the gun’s direction, aiming at the cat in Fu Qian’s hands.

“Adele had just come back a few hours ago—this cat, on the other hand, has never left.”
