Chapter 2045: Chapter 2046: The Liu Family’s True Crisis

Seeing the Liu Family Head walk in, the Wan Family people immediately stopped.

They weren’t fools; they knew who could be insulted and who couldn’t.

But Wan Kun was different!

The Liu Family Head’s status was at most equivalent to an ordinary Elder of the Kunwu Sect, but his father was the Grand Elder, naturally holding a rank higher than the Liu Family Head.

”Ah, it’s Liu Family Head. You’re here just in time, saving me the trouble of finding you. You should judge this matter for me. Last time, my elders discussed marriage with you, but look at what your Liu Family people have done now!” Wan Kun still said arrogantly.

”In this matter, it is indeed our Liu Family’s fault. I will give you a satisfactory answer later,” said the Family Head indifferently.

Wan Kun squinted his eyes, ”Good, since Liu Family Head says so, I’ll wait for your answer. I won’t make things difficult for your juniors!”

Hearing this, the Family Head was almost infuriated to death.

Wan Kun was just a generation with Liu Mei and them, and several ranks below the Family Head. Strictly speaking, the Family Head’s status in the entire Kunwu Sect was significantly higher than Wan Kun’s father’s. However, due to power dynamics, the Liu Family Head’s current status seemed inferior.

At this moment, seeing that he couldn’t act here, Wan Kun fiercely glared at Ye Luo and Liu Mei before attempting to walk out.

”Wait!” The Liu Family Head frowned and shouted.

”Oh? Does Liu Family Head have any other matters?” Wan Kun turned around with a smile, his eyes full of disdain.

”The Liu Family acts openly and uprightly, not leaving room for criticism. I’ve explained myself before; shouldn’t you give me an explanation too?”

”Oh?” Wan Kun looked at the Family Head with amusement, ”I don’t understand what you mean by that!”

”Hmph, our Liu Family and your Wan Family are both branches of the Kunwu Sect; cultivation resources are naturally shared among everyone. Wasn’t what you said earlier a bit excessive?” The Liu Family Head said angrily.

He could overlook disrespect from a junior, but he deserved at least some face—a step down for the Liu Family Head. After all, the Liu Family Head did not want to fall out with him!

But after being humiliated by him, some explanation was necessary.

”Oh, are you referring to what I said earlier? But, was I wrong?”

”You!” The Liu Family Head’s face turned gloomy instantly, ”Junior, speaking rudely, let me teach you a lesson for your elders!”

With that, he smacked over with his hand.

”You dare make a move!” Wan Kun was shocked, not expecting the Liu Family Head to actually dare to strike him!

Despite his words and disdain for the Liu Family Head, it was all based on his father’s status.

In terms of strength, the Liu Family Head could kill him with just a finger!

And judging by the momentum of the Family Head’s strike, it was clear it was serious!

”You old thing, just you wait!”

Wan Kun cursed and ran away.

Confront the Family Head? He’d have to be out of his mind.

But no matter how fast he was, how could he outrun the Liu Family Head’s attack!

In an instant, the Family Head’s attack had already locked onto him, making him feel sluggish, and his internal spiritual power seemed to be confined.

This shock was genuinely extraordinary for Wan Kun.

”Help!” He helplessly stopped and shouted into the air.

Of course, the Liu Family Head wasn’t going to kill him, but punishment was inevitable.

However, just as the Family Head’s fist was about to hit Wan Kun, a massive hand suddenly appeared from nowhere, smacking this fist away.

With a loud bang, the force scattered, and the surrounding crowd quickly retreated to avoid being injured by the force.

”Liu Chengfeng, you’re getting on in years and still sparring with juniors? That’s a bit unreasonable, isn’t it?” A majestic voice floated down from the air.

Soon after, an elder of similar age to the Liu Family Head appeared in front of everyone.

It was the Grand Elder of the Kunwu Sect, Wan Kun’s father, Wan Haotian!

Immediately, Liu Chengfeng’s heart skipped a beat. He initially only wanted to teach Wan Kun a lesson, not expecting to alarm his father.

Now the situation had changed flavor!

But he was also in a dilemma now. If he conceded, how could he and the Liu Family hold their heads high in front of the other families in the future? However, if he was too strong, it might bring disaster to the Liu Family!

”Liu Family Head Liu Chengfeng, paying respects to the Grand Elder. The previous matter, I’m sure the Grand Elder has understood it clearly. I, Liu Chengfeng, have nothing to lose, but it concerns the dignity of the Liu Family, so I had no choice but to act!” he said with neither humility nor arrogance.

But Wan Haotian sneered, ”Although my son’s words were harsh, they were also factual. The Liu Family has now become a burden to the Kunwu Sect, which is an uncontested fact. Originally, the Sect Master wanted to cut the Liu Family’s resources; I strongly opposed it. But now it seems unnecessary. Oh, by the way, after the Sect Master’s birthday banquet, the sect will probably make some adjustments to the Liu Family, so the Liu Family Head should take care of the family’s emotions then!”

Upon hearing this, the Liu Family Head’s expression changed!

If he’d said that, it wasn’t without basis. It indicated the Sect Master likely had similar intentions!

”I, Wan Haotian, won’t take advantage of your vulnerable time. After the Sect Master’s birthday banquet, I will surely seek justice for my son!”

With that, he flicked his sleeves and left with Wan Kun.

Since Wan Kun had been taken away by the Grand Elder, the rest of the Wan Family people naturally hurriedly left this small courtyard.

Now, the Liu Family members finally breathed a sigh of relief.

After all, although the Liu Family brought dozens of people, this was still the Wan Family’s stronghold. What good fruit could they expect from provoking the Wan Family?

”You two follow me!”

The Liu Family Head said coldly to Ye Luo and Liu Mei.

The two exchanged glances and followed the Liu Family Head.

Soon, they arrived at the Family Head’s room, slightly larger than theirs, but with nothing special.

”You two, explain what exactly happened!” The Family Head said coldly. Today’s incident had become quite serious for the Liu Family. After all, Wan Haotian held a very high status in the Wan Family, with the Sect Master managing sect affairs for so long, most Wan Family matters were controlled by Wan Haotian.

More importantly, Wan Haotian was a petty person; any kindness to him was quickly forgotten, but any minor feud could be remembered for a lifetime.
