Peerless Divine Doctor

Chapter 2038: Chapter 2039: Ninth Layer

Ye Luo was much calmer.

How powerful were the Demon Beasts on the ninth layer? One word! Strong!

When they were on the first layer, the two already felt it. So what level of strength would the Demon Beasts have reached by the eighth layer?

It’s important to understand that these strongest Demon Beasts were nearly all transformed from the Resentment of Dragon Souls. As for ordinary Demon Beasts, there was nothing extraordinary about them!

The higher one climbs, the stronger the Dragon Souls with Resentment become!

However, Ye Luo felt those exceedingly powerful Demon Beasts did not obstruct them!

Some of the auras deeply shocked Ye Luo, because only someone from the Dragon Clan could sense this aura.

He even felt that those powerful Demon Beasts were hoping for Ye Luo to reach the summit of the ninth layer!

Yet Liu Bing sensed nothing at all. He thought he had slain the strongest Demon Beasts, unaware that these were merely the weakest underlings.

Nonetheless, Ye Luo did not burst his bubble. Firstly, there was no need, and secondly, he didn’t know how to explain it.

As they approached the entrance to the ninth layer, he hesitated.

The earlier scenes of dragon carcasses scattered about still made him shiver.

”What are you hesitating for? The time is running out. Don’t you want to see the ninth layer?” Liu Bing urged.

Ye Luo squinted, thinking this guy was behaving oddly, almost eager to enter the ninth layer. Did he have some ulterior motive?

Since entering the tower, Liu Bing seemed like a different person, his intelligence significantly reduced!

A genius might not care, but let’s not forget that Ye Luo had climbed up from a small world like Earth step by step!

If he hadn’t been cautious, he would have died countless times!

Therefore, he had long been wary of Liu Bing!

Could a mere bug control him? Ye Luo thought not!

But Liu Bing was right about one thing, the Tower of Trials was about to close, and by then, they would both be teleported out. Not checking the ninth layer was unthinkable!

After all, Ye Luo came for this ninth layer! Ever since he discovered the secret of the first layer, he aimed to reach this ninth layer!

Moreover, even if he hadn’t climbed yet, that restless feeling within him had already emerged, firmly convincing him that there must be something related to the Dragon Emperor’s remains on this ninth layer!

Thus, he stepped into the entrance of the ninth layer.

Watching Ye Luo’s vanishing silhouette, Liu Bing sneered, his icy expression completely different from before.

The ninth layer was entirely different from the previous layers!

Ye Luo and Liu Bing were utterly shocked.

There were no Demon Beasts here! Yes, not a single life form, making it seem not like a Tower of Trials at all!

But a Hell, a Hell belonging to the Dragon Clan!

Although Ye Luo had witnessed this scene before, stepping onto the ninth layer brought about an air filled with the Dragon Clan’s unique stench of blood, the ceaselessly wandering Resentment-wrought Dragon Souls!

And a seemingly boundless mountain of Dragon Clan bones!

What on earth happened here?

Ye Luo continuously adjusted his emotions, feeling the Dragon Soul within him burning, its volatile elements at risk of going out of control at the slightest mistake.

After all, these were his kin!

Kunwu Sect, damn it! Ye Luo clenched his fist.

The inner restlessness grew stronger, compelling him unavoidably onward.

”Where are you going?” Liu Bing asked, his voice full of caution.

Yet Ye Luo was not in the mood to answer him, nor did he notice Liu Bing was gripping his giant sword with both hands, his Spiritual Energy fully mobilized, clearly preparing a fatal strike!

Treading on bones, Ye Luo moved forward. With so many bones, taking them back to Dragon Island was clearly impossible, which saddened him.

He had no way to change this, and if they took too many out, the Liu Family would discover it, leaving him incapable of explaining.

The inner restlessness acted as a guide, and soon he began running, paying no mind to Liu Bing behind!

Let him be!

But where in this vast bone plain was his destination!

He feared the Tower of Trials might close before he reached his goal!

Fortunately, in a short time, he stopped.

In front, several Resented Dragon Souls blocked his way.

Clearly, these Dragon Souls of Resentment had developed Spiritual Intelligence, akin to Spiritual Body life forms but unique, a kind of special life form.

”Young one, you have finally arrived!” one Dragon Soul life form said in a raspy voice.

Ye Luo was puzzled. Did they know he was coming?

”Since you’ve arrived, our task is complete!”

The raspy voice was filled with loss, regret, and a sense of relief, puzzling Ye Luo even more.

What did these words mean, and what was their task?

Soon, he understood the Dragon Soul life form was talking about its task!

Within these life forms, a forest of white flames ignited! Indeed, it was an act of self-destruction.

But Ye Luo did not stop it, for he felt a profound dread toward this flame! He felt as if the flame touched him, it would burn both soul and body to nothing!

What kind of flame could be powerful enough to burn Dragon Souls?

Moreover, the surrounding bones started to burn, quickly turning the ninth layer into a sea of flames!

This scene took Ye Luo by surprise, profoundly shocking him.

The flames were fierce, and in no time, half the bone mountain was ablaze! Understanding dawned upon Ye Luo—perhaps this was the bones’ final fate!

There was one hour left before the Tower of Trials closed!

The flames had been burning for several hours when they finally neared their end.

All around was dark soil, those bones consumed by the fire. However, not far ahead, a piece of golden bone stood!

Seeing the bone, Ye Luo felt his heart leap!

Yes, it belonged to the Dragon Emperor!

His mind flooded with feelings, sadness, and anger!

In other words, after undergoing the body-exchanging technique, Dragon Emperor’s bloodline flowed within him! Therefore, this bone was as good as his!

The hatred caused by the Dragon Emperor’s fall, he naturally felt intensely.
