Peerless Divine Doctor

Chapter 2027: Chapter 2028: The Tournament Begins

Her residence was completely out of place with the overall style of the Liu Family.

The Liu Family was considered a large clan, and just taking that palace as an example, describing it as luxurious was not an exaggeration at all!

But Liu Mei’s residence was much more simple.

Seeing Ye Luo arrive, Liu Mei was clearly surprised.

After all, given Liu Qing’s previous character, going to someone else’s place was almost unheard of.

”You... looking for me for something?”

She originally intended to invite Ye Luo in, but the words were swallowed back.

”Indeed, I came to ask you about what kind of experts the younger generation of the Kunwu Sect has!”

Having cultivated in the extremely cold regions for years, Liu Qing naturally didn’t know this; he didn’t even know which experts the Liu Family had.

In reality, he was more eager to learn about the experts within the Liu Family.

After all, what he knew now was just about Liu Mei and Liu Cheng.

Before the real candidate competition, the Liu Family would conduct an internal competition!

The purpose was to choose those five who would participate in the real candidates’ contest!

In the Martial Realm, strength is revered, so naturally, such a competition would speak through power!

”Alright, come in then!”

Only then did Liu Mei invite Ye Luo in.

As soon as he entered, a faint fragrance hit him; it was light and unique, somewhat like lavender on Earth, except lavender probably didn’t exist in this world!

Still, this scent made him feel quite nostalgic.

After entering, Ye Luo settled onto her bed without formality.

Because the room didn’t have chairs or anything, just a bed and a mat on the ground.

Liu Mei frowned; it was the first time anyone entered her room, much less a man sitting on her bed, making her feel somewhat uneasy.

”I’ll just tell you about the experts of the Kunwu Sect then!”

Not sure if it was out of awkwardness, she began introducing them directly.

Of course, she started with the Liu Family.

As Ye Luo expected, the Liu Family didn’t only have a few geniuses; there were others in secluded cultivation, not counting them!

Other branch bloodline geniuses would also participate in this competition!

Which meant that, even if you had just a trace of Liu Family blood, as long as you were a genius, you could come!

Clearly, this competition was going to be quite lively.

”Actually, you don’t have to worry. With the power of your Frost Body, getting into the top five is basically a certainty!” Liu Mei said.

Ye Luo knew his own struggles.

If he could use his true strength, he could unleash his full Eighth Rank power and crush a genius with a single slap! How satisfying would that be!

But now, he could only use the cultivation techniques available to the Liu Family’s children!

Wasn’t this just absurd?

Watching Ye Luo leave, Liu Mei sighed, uncertain about her feelings.

Before the Sect Master’s birthday celebration, the Liu Family’s competition finally began.

Early in the morning, the Martial Arena of the Liu Family was already packed, with thousands of people on the square.

Ye Luo saw many geniuses who had hurried back this morning, all exuding strong auras, at least at the peak of the Sixth Rank.

There was even one more genius at the Seventh Rank!

Today, the Family Head of the Liu Family stood at the forefront of the Martial Arena, beaming with joy, surprised by the sudden emergence of so many geniuses!

From the last selection of five geniuses, only one reached the Seventh Rank, and now, five had already reached the Seventh Realm!

Not to mention, at the Sect Master’s birthday celebration, it was also a matter of pride!

The Liu Family’s style was straightforward, with no superfluous elements, directly entering the competition segment.

Technically, these five Seventh Rank geniuses were just right in number, so there was no need to continue the competition!

Initially, Ye Luo thought the same, until Liu Mei clarified it for him.

It was for the sake of fairness!

Who said Seventh Rank would definitely win? Clearly, these few rushed through their realms for the sake of this Sect Master’s candidate selection, not much stronger than those at the peak of the Sixth Rank!

Therefore, the competition had to go on.

Ye Luo roughly observed, and only twenty or so geniuses were participating, with the competition using a lottery system to determine matches.

”Did I make it in time for the Liu Family’s competition?”

Just as the competition was about to start, a voice came from afar.

The crowd then saw a young man carrying a giant sword, walking over slowly.

However, his steps were heavy, as if the earth slightly trembled with each step!

Naturally, it was just an illusion, but this young man exuded an air of eeriness.

”You are, Liu Bing!”

Someone shouted, and instantly, the surroundings fell silent.

Even the Family Head and Elder standing at the front of the Martial Arena fell silent, their expressions turning grim.

”Haha, didn’t expect someone to still remember me, Liu Bing! Indeed, after twelve years, I’ve returned!”

Ye Luo squinted at him; this guy seemed rather arrogant.

”This Liu Bing is a genius from a branch of the Liu Family. In fact, his branch was expelled from the Liu Family, yet somehow he emerged as such a genius! Twelve years ago, he came to the Liu Family alone, challenging the younger generation. Back then, he was at the Fourth Rank but managed to kill seven Liu Family geniuses! And all were geniuses receiving focus cultivation from the Liu Family! It truly dealt a heavy blow to the Liu Family!”

Liu Mei quietly explained from the side.

Upon hearing this, Ye Luo felt that this guy was entirely a madman!

”Why did the Liu Family let this guy go?”

Liu Mei slightly shook her head, ”How could they, the Liu Family definitely planned to execute this guy, but he was taken away by a significant figure, someone the Liu Family dared not offend or couldn’t afford to offend! From a mysterious force!”

Ye Luo frowned, could it be, this power was the mysterious force behind the Kunwu Sect?

Before coming, Ao Long had told him a few things about the Kunwu Sect, but Ao Long remained tight-lipped about that mysterious power behind it.

”Liu Bing, you have nothing to do with our Liu Family anymore, you’re not welcome here!”

An elder shouted angrily.

It was understandable, as one of the geniuses slaughtered back then was this elder’s direct grandson.

The anger was such that the elder wished he could crush him with his own palm.

Upon hearing this, Liu Bing laughed loudly towards the sky, ”What a joke, I have Liu Family blood in my veins, so naturally I’m part of the Liu Family! If the Liu Family insists on this, then let’s see if my master’s sword agrees!”

He drew the sword on his back; it was over two meters long and, by its form, incredibly bulky!

But that wasn’t the point; the point was the sword exuded a thick scent of blood.
