Chapter 1763: Chapter 1765: The Battle of the Valley

So, this battle is the same; each commander knows only their specific task, without any clue as to the strategic significance of their mission, nor the overall arrangement!

This kind of arrangement, honestly, if any one link goes wrong, can easily lead to chaos. However, Ye Luo has no choice but to arrange it this way!

Under Ye Luo’s command, the armies are busily moving; how could such actions and arrangements be hidden from the enemy?

By now, the allied forces of the Commerce Alliance have already noticed Ye Luo’s movements here. It’s just a pity that, as Ye Luo’s arrangements intended, unless the news is meant for them to know, if not intended, they simply can’t uncover it.

Of course, there is one location where the enemy has absolute information.

That is the River Valley!

”Hmph, I see that the Third Prince is merely so, really don’t understand how those fools of the Western Frontier got defeated by such an inexperienced brat; look at his placement in the River Valley position. It’s obvious it’s intended as a central camp.

This position is indeed good, surrounded by water on three sides, just his layout of a No-Fly Formation means we would need to cross the big river to attack. Yet with only a little strength, how could he withstand the encirclement of our grand army?”

”Exactly, exactly, this kid seems to merely have a superficial appearance. Just fifty thousand Demon Beasts, seventy thousand soldiers, oh right, and one hundred thousand laborers, thinking they can stop our Commerce Alliance’s army! Hmph, as long as we issue the order, casually dispatch two hundred thousand troops here, it’s not a problem at all. Unable to set up big strategic magical treasures and formations, could strategic Behemoths also not come through?

If this kid is looking for death himself, then there’s no need for us to be polite; issue the orders, mobilize the army, and encircle and kill that so-called Third Prince right here in the River Valley, by then, wouldn’t Da Yue Empire’s Southern Territory be at our fingertips?”

The commanders of the Commerce Alliance were all excited, as if victory was assured!

It can be said that the Commerce Alliance’s morale was high because, in their eyes, this battle was certain victory!

But will the result truly be as simple as they think?

Commerce Alliance feared that an early attack would scare off Ye Luo, since in their view, no matter how well Ye Luo arranges things, he will inevitably lose. Therefore, they only sent spies to investigate the River Valley’s deployment without attacking!

This can be considered as making a grievous mistake!

War is not a game, it’s not about taking for granted. Certainly, Ye Luo’s excellent secrecy work has a part to play here!

Ye Luo, on his side, was working tirelessly without rest to complete the arrangements.

Both sides know the great battle is imminent, yet both believe they hold the winning hand.

...

”Your Highness, in accordance with your orders, all arrangements are complete. Just give the word, and we swear to fight to the death!”

A Wolf Clan commander came to Ye Luo. For the Wolf Clan, only battle can ignite their fervor, and strong enemies? They simply don’t care!

Ye Luo nodded his head but was still waiting for someone’s report.

In truth, she was the key!

That is Feng Ling!

In fact, the core of Ye Luo’s plan this time was to inflict heavy casualties on the enemy. As for victory or defeat?

Actually, this battle had no talk of victory or defeat! Because the fundamental goal of this battle for Ye Luo was only one: kill the enemy! Kill them in large numbers!

The stratagem given to Feng Ling largely involved trap setups. Ye Luo spent three days planning this battle, but actually, most of the time was spent researching these traps.

In those three days, Ye Luo continuously searched through lunar calculations for various traps advantageous to his current situation, even handing over virtually all strategic reserves from the Southern Territory to Feng Ling, seeking that decisive result!

This battle, in truth, the entire campaign’s core, lies in trap warfare at the River Valley, not some straightforward battle, while other places merely served as support!

Of course, this secret was known only in Ye Luo’s own heart, and Ao Long and Feng Ling, Ye Luo didn’t fully inform either!

The time for the decisive battle finally arrived!

Ye Luo led thirty thousand directly to the River Valley position, joining Feng Ling’s twenty thousand, forming an army of fifty thousand. Plus, nearly thirty thousand Demon Beasts scattered around, whichever way you look, it seemed indeed that this River Valley position was Ye Luo’s central camp!

Seeing Ye Luo finally arrive, only then did the Commerce Alliance’s forces slowly mobilize.

The vast army spread across tens of miles, with each Behemoth shaking the ground as they moved.

The commanders of the Commerce Alliance appeared not to treat this battle seriously. In their view, they even felt that, this time, a single charge could solve Ye Luo!

Many in the Commerce Alliance even thought Ye Luo was very foolish—if he relied on fortresses and strongholds, they would need extra effort to conquer the Southern Territory, but with Ye Luo coming out of the city to battle in the field, it’s akin to seeking death!

Both armies set up camp, and due to the sheer number of Commerce Alliance forces, many had no space to camp and had to squeeze together.

Flags obscured the skies, causing the soldiers from Three Stone City to tremble with fear. Though the battle had not yet commenced, many were already speaking of retreat!

Ye Luo had long been mentally prepared for this result. Honestly, upon seeing the massive enemy forces, even Ye Luo wasn’t entirely confident of victory.

Yet with the situation at this point, there was no room for regret; Ye Luo could only prepare for battle with full efforts!

”Commence the battle according to the original plan!”

Ye Luo said calmly.

The plan had been laid out; it was the result of Ye Luo’s painstaking efforts to improve it, and now, they could only proceed as planned!

A thousand-strong Wolf Clan unit swiftly charged out from the camp; their goal was merely to lure the enemy!

Ten thousand Wolf Clan warriors quickly reached the riverbank while simultaneously, towers rose along the riverbank!

Yes, along the riverbank, Ye Luo constructed a defense line with over nine hundred towers!

The task of those ten thousand Wolf Clan soldiers was to station within them, to inflict maximum damage on the enemy!

Inside each of these towers was a Spirit Power Cannon, though initially, Feng Ling had done well in maintaining secrecy during their installation!

The enemy thought they knew everything about the situation here, yet they were unaware that Ye Luo, from the beginning, only showed them what he wanted them to see!

”Boom! Boom! Boom!”

Almost without a moment’s delay, over nine hundred Spirit Power Cannons roared with fury!
