Chapter 1523: Chapter 1524: Battle of the Canyon

”Young master, please follow our lead!”

One of them came up to Ye Luo and spoke directly to him.

In an instant, Ye Luo understood that these people hadn’t actually fled but had retreated to secretly plan an ambush in the canyon to assist Ye Luo and the others.

Ye Luo naturally did not hesitate and quickly led his group to follow their steps into the canyon.

Yingchen Dao saw this scene but paid no attention to it at all.

In Yingchen Dao’s eyes, these slaves didn’t know formations or mechanics, nor did they have high-tech weapons. Even with favorable terrain, they couldn’t pose any threat to them!

So Yingchen Dao still ordered the slave guard squad to pursue without hesitation!

Suddenly, a loud roar echoed from the canyon.

”Kill!”

Simultaneously, sharpened wooden stakes and massive rolling logs, fireballs descended from the sky!

These slaves used the most primitive traps to try to hinder the Yingchen Family’s people!

”Take to the air!”

Yingchen Dao shouted commandingly, and the Yingchen Family’s people flew into the air without hesitation!

”Whoosh whoosh whoosh!”

Bows and arrows! The most primitive bows and arrows, the most rudimentary bows and arrows, even if shot with spiritual power, were so weak.

The slaves had few resources but used all means at their disposal to try to obstruct the Yingchen Family’s people!

”Haha, more people to kill, as long as we kill them, we can gain freedom!”

The slave guard squad wasn’t intimidated by the sudden appearance of so many enemies, rather they seemed extremely excited, in their eyes, the more enemies, the greater their chance at freedom. So, seeing thousands of enemies suddenly appear, they felt excitement, not fear!

Both sides instantly engaged in battle, fighting for the same goal—freedom!

However, around Yingchen Dao, the guards and devotees still looked down upon the battlefield with disdain. These guys, despite being cowardly and without the courage to act, still arrogantly despised the slave guard squad!

Ye Luo looked back at the chaotic battlefield, showing a helpless expression.

At this moment, Ye Luo already knew he couldn’t save those people.

Perhaps, from the beginning when they ambushed here, they held a resolve to die!

”Young master, hurry, we can’t last much longer!”

The person leading Ye Luo shouted loudly.

Ye Luo nodded, knowing if he couldn’t save them, he wouldn’t waste their good intentions.

Ye Luo was after all just one person, no matter how strong he was, once encircled entirely by enemies, he could very likely perish.

So, Ye Luo had no choice but to retreat!

Of course, in Ye Luo’s heart, these people wouldn’t sacrifice in vain!

If the Yingchen Family killed these people, Ye Luo would use the blood of the Yingchen Family to commemorate them!

If the Yingchen Family just captured them back, then Ye Luo would find a way to rescue them!

Ye Luo turned his head, looked one last time at the fight behind him, said nothing, and just led his group away faster.

At this moment, the battle in the canyon had broken out fully, many of these slaves treated as entertainers and gladiators, their primary task was fighting, whether against other companions, wild beasts, or demon beasts, all were very bloody.

So for these people, they were not afraid of battle, even knowing now they had no chance of winning, they wouldn’t retreat a step!

At this moment, the Yingchen Family’s guards and devotees showed another kind of enthusiasm, these guards, facing Ye Luo, feared him, didn’t dare approach, only dared to drive the slave guard squad to fight Ye Luo.

But now, facing weaker slaves, they appeared mighty and went all out, each one with a cruel smile on their face!

Even though Ye Luo was already far away, he could faintly hear cries of pain behind him.

Clearly, the Yingchen Family’s guards didn’t just kill the slaves but tortured them with all means before finishing them!

Ye Luo’s brow furrowed, his face cold, clearly he was angry!

Ye Luo regretted not bringing the Feather Guard; if he had, he wouldn’t be so passive and helpless!

Clearly wanting to save the slaves, Ye Luo’s own strength seemed so insignificant!

Suddenly, as Ye Luo was rushing, his wristband lit up.

Someone was sending him a message!

Without hesitation, Ye Luo kept fleeing quickly and connected the call at the same time.

”Your Highness, I boldly mobilized the Feather Guard in secret, they’ve infiltrated all feudal lands of the Yingchen Family, I heard you’re being attacked by them, so I’ve ordered the Feather Guard near Nandao City to meet you, also, do I need to inform His Majesty now?”

Not Yun Liancheng’s call?

Ye Luo was somewhat surprised; normally, such calls were from Yun Liancheng, but this time, it wasn’t!

Generally, Yun Liancheng wouldn’t not care about Ye Luo, implying Yun Liancheng is plotting something!

”What about Yun Liancheng? Why didn’t he contact me?”

Ye Luo casually asked, but hearing this, the commander slightly trembled, as rumored, the Ninth Prince greatly valued Yun Liancheng!

”Reporting, Your Highness, Colonel Yun led a hundred-man team and already set out to find you, haven’t you joined up with Colonel Yun?”

What? Yun Liancheng already came?

Ye Luo was slightly stunned, naturally unable to say more now, so after casually chatting with the commander a bit, Ye Luo quickly called Yun Liancheng.

When connected, Ye Luo saw Yun Liancheng covered in blood.

”Brother Yun, what’s going on? You’re in Nandao City too?”

”Yes, Your Highness, we were worried about you, planned to follow to protect secretly, yet everywhere you went inevitably caused major events, don’t worry, we’ve started attacking key members of the Yingchen Family here in Nandao City, hopefully soon your situation will improve!”

After Yun Liancheng spoke, Ye Luo understood the general situation.
