Peerless Divine Doctor

Chapter 983: Chapter 983: The Rainbow Necklace

”Do you really know nothing? Then what will you do in the future?”

Ye Luo looked at Luo Ji and said.

”I don’t know,” replied Luo Ji indifferently, her eyes pure and untainted, reminiscent of a blank sheet of paper.

”How about you stay by my side for now? What do you say?”

”Alright.”

Luo Ji did not refuse and nodded her head.

Soon they returned to the Li Family estate. Ye Luo asked Li Guangyuan to arrange a room for Luo Ji to rest, while he himself found a room to cultivate in, restoring all the strength he had depleted in his body.

In Macau, within an ordinary residential house, a group of people was gathered. All of them wore monk robes and were bald, all monks.

The one who had fought with Ye Luo, Zhi Gang, also appeared here.

Haven’t seen him for nearly half a year, Zhi Gang now exuded an even more profound aura, his body radiating the sacred majesty of Buddhist teachings, faintly revealing an overriding presence, his muscles gleaming with a bronze luster, exuding a formidable air.

In front of Zhi Gang sat three monks clothed in red kasayas with nine ring scars on their heads, their auras composed and enshrouded in Buddhist light. They appeared to be in their fifties and looked like esteemed figures in Buddhism. These three were elders from the Arhat Hall within the Shaolin Temple.

”All disciples, heed my command. Tonight, we must retrieve our sacred relic, the Buddha Ancestor’s relic, at any cost. Understand?”

The elder in the center spoke solemnly.

”Understood.”

The Shaolin disciples all nodded in unison.

”Rest assured, three elders, this time we will definitely retrieve the sacred relic. Anyone who dares to obstruct us will be killed without mercy!” Zhi Gang declared, a cold glint flickering in his eyes.

”Zhi Gang, now that you have penetrated the essence of the Diamond Sutra and achieved a certain realm of strength, do not harbor reckless thoughts of killing lest it affects your cultivation. Your target is the upcoming Green Ranking competition. Tonight, we will take care of blocking others; you just need to take the relic and leave,” the three elders said in a deep voice to Zhi Gang.

”Yes, the disciple understands!” Zhi Gang nodded in acknowledgment.

As time slipped by, the night enveloped Macau, and the stars filled the void.

At eight-thirty, Ye Luo walked out of his room and Duan Ningyu approached him.

”Mr. Ye, I heard you’re interested in the Buddha Ancestor’s relic at tonight’s auction. However, many powers and experts seem to have come to Macau. Should I call upon the three elders?” Duan Ningyu asked looking at Ye Luo.

”No need. I’m not going there to rob openly. It’s unnecessary. As long as Huo Ji stays by my side, that’s enough. If I need anything, I’ll contact you. Wait for my message,” Ye Luo said, and then he glanced at Luo Ji, reminding her to stay put before taking Huo Ji with him to follow Li Tiancheng to the Beli Building.

Outside the Beli Building, countless luxury cars had already parked.

Li Tiancheng personally opened the car door for Ye Luo and Huo Ji, leading them into the auction event.

At this moment, a large crowd had already gathered, consisting of all the major wealthy individuals from Macau and many rich people from other countries. Ye Luo also sensed several powerful auras among them.

As the wealthiest man in Macau, Li Tiancheng naturally attracted all eyes on the scene, with many people greeting him.

Shortly after, the auction staff arranged for Li Tiancheng and his two companions to sit in the front row, which once again stirred up the crowd.

Another group walked in, led by a middle-aged man dressed in a Tang suit, slightly overweight, wearing various jade rings on his fingers.

His eyes occasionally flashed with sharpness, exuding dominance. He was none other than Zhang Daqian, the Gambling King of Macau, who was as renowned as Li Tiancheng. Naturally, his son, Zhang Huai, followed by his side.

Upon Zhang Daqian’s arrival, yet another wave of people came forward to greet him, a welcome comparable to that of Li Tiancheng.

”That guy is the Gambling King!”

Ye Luo swept a glance at Zhang Daqian and couldn’t help stating.

”Exactly, he is Zhang Daqian, the only one in Macau who can contend with me. My son mentioned that this Zhang Huai offended Young Master Ye, do you need me to...” Li Tiancheng’s gaze turned towards Ye Luo.

”No need!”

Ye Luo shook his head; he didn’t care about a small fry like Zhang Huai at all.

That Zhang Huai looked around and upon seeing Ye Luo, his face darkened. His fists clenched involuntarily, and a cold glint flashed in his eyes.

”Son, what’s wrong?”

Zhang Daqian, noticing something amiss with Zhang Huai’s complexion, quickly asked.

”Dad, I’m fine.”

Zhang Huai shook his head.

Soon an elderly auctioneer well beyond his years ascended the auction stage to lead the event.

This auction mainly featured ancient artifacts of inestimable value from various countries. The appearance of these incredibly precious items instantly incited a frenzied bidding war among the wealthy.

Among the bidders were numerous enterprises and collectors, making the atmosphere at the venue extremely intense. However, Ye Luo felt an urge to sleep; these things were utterly meaningless to him.

Soon one by one, the artifacts of tremendous value were presented and swiftly bought up in a bidding frenzy.

”This auction item is a multi-colored necklace unearthed from ancient Greek ruins, said to have been worn by a Greek goddess. It symbolizes purity, beauty, nobility, elegance, and possesses a mysterious power. The starting bid today is thirty million!”

The auctioneer then presented the multi-colored necklace, adorned with seven differently colored crystal stones, shining with a rainbow’s radiance, exuding a divine aura.

Looking at the necklace, Ye Luo’s eyes suddenly opened wide, showing a hint of interest.

”Forty million!”

No sooner had the auctioneer finished speaking than someone started bidding.

In the blink of an eye, the bid price soared to a hundred million, and it was still climbing, although it was increasing by only a few million at each increment.

”Two hundred million!”

Suddenly, a voice sounded out; Ye Luo had made his move.

Zhang Huai’s eyes looked at Ye Luo, shimmering with a cold and sinister light.

With Ye Luo’s bid, many people were startled and then many backed down.

Eventually, the mysterious multi-colored necklace was acquired by Ye Luo for the high price of three hundred million.

”Young Master Ye, let me cover these three hundred million for you,” Li Tiancheng suddenly said.

”That would be too embarrassing; no need,” Ye Luo shook his head.

”Young Master Ye, no need to be so polite. Previously in Zhonghai, my son Guangyuan wronged you, and I have yet to compensate you. Please consider these three hundred million a modest apology and accept it,” Li Tiancheng said earnestly. He had learned from Duan Ningyu that Ye Luo was now the master of the Five Elements Sect.

Since the Five Elements Sect was originally his own master, that meant Ye Luo was now his master too, so he naturally wanted to forge a good relationship.

”Since you put it that way, I won’t be coy with you,” Ye Luo said, curling his lip.
