Peerless Divine Doctor

Chapter 767: Chapter 767: The Affectionate Hou Jingwu_1

Moreover, looking at Die Wu’s soul, listless and having lost a part, one can imagine the extent of the trauma she must have suffered originally. Recovery would be even harder, unless she relied on elixirs that heal the soul.

At this thought, Ye Luo’s eyes brightened. He suddenly recalled that he had on his person the Huang-ranked Ninth Rank Elixir, Soul Condensing Pills, suited for healing the soul. Hadn’t his own soul damage been rapidly healed before? Perhaps it might be useful to this girl.

”Mr. Ye, my father invites you to come in!”

At this moment, Hou Yaoyue walked out and, with a smile, said to Ye Luo.

”Alright,” Ye Luo responded, glancing a few times at this woman full of mature charm. Hou Yaoyue must have been at least thirty-five or thirty-six, but her maintenance was truly remarkable, making her appear not a day over thirty, with smooth, delicate skin and dressed in a cheongsam, exhibiting an elegant and graceful bearing.

As Hou Yaoyue noticed Ye Luo’s eyes upon her, a hint of flirtation flashed in her eyes as she looked back at him, leaving Ye Luo somewhat embarrassed. He quickly went inside, while Hou Yaoyue’s soft laughter followed.

”Lord Hou!”

Ye Luo walked into the room and, coming to the bedside, spoke to Hou Xiangguo.

”Little Ye, I really owe you a lot this time. If it weren’t for you, this old man’s life might have been lost to that shrapnel, and you have become a true savior to the Hou Family,” Hou Xiangguo said gratefully.

Hou Yaoyang and Hou Yaochen looked at Ye Luo with grateful eyes as well.

”There’s no need for such words. After all, Lord Hou, you are one of Huaxia’s founding heroes. You’ve given so much for our country, and naturally, I couldn’t stand by and see such a national hero lose his life to a piece of shrapnel. That would be a loss for our country,” Ye Luo said with a righteous expression.

”Haha!” Hou Xiangguo laughed heartily. ”Little Ye, you sure have a way with words. Nevertheless, from now on, you are the most honored guest of the Hou Family,” he said.

”If you have any problems or needs, and as long as the Hou Family can help, we will not hesitate to lend a hand. Of course, you can turn to any of my three sons for any matters; they are all quite capable.”

”Understood, Lord Hou. However, I would like to meet the eldest young master of the Hou Family, if that’s possible?” Ye Luo asked.

”Oh, you want to see Jing Wu?” Hou Xiangguo’s expression faltered, seemingly considering the current state of Hou Jingwu, his face showing a hint of regret and a deep sigh escaping him.

”Mr. Ye, do you have some urgent business with that young man?” Hou Yaoyang inquired, looking at Ye Luo.

”I might have a way to get the young master back on his feet,” Ye Luo said, a sly smile curling at the corner of his mouth.

”Really?”

Hou Yaoyang’s expression jolted, and even Hou Xiangguo’s eyes lit up momentarily, while Hou Yaoxing glanced at Ye Luo with a cold shimmer in his eyes.

”Yaoyue, please take Mr. Ye to see Jing Wu,” Hou Xiangguo instructed Hou Yaoyue.

”Mr. Ye, please follow me,” Hou Yaoyue said to Ye Luo and then the two of them left.

”Father, there’s something I need to attend to at my company. I’ll take my leave first,” said Hou Yaoxing to Hou Xiangguo at that moment.

”Go ahead,”

Hou Xiangguo nodded, and Hou Yaoxing quickly left the room.

”Father, there is something I must discuss with you,” Hou Yaoyang’s eyes flickered as he informed Hou Xiangguo about what had happened at the teahouse.

”Father, I’m worried that the second brother, his wife, and the Yang Family might cause harm to Mr. Ye,” Hou Yaoyang said with some concern.

”Hmph, that Yang Family, using the reputation of Yang Xiufang and our Hou Family, has secretly committed no small number of misdeeds over the years. Now that they’ve crossed paths with Xiao Ye, they only have themselves to blame.”

”Go and warn Yang Tiancheng that if his Yang Family still wants to survive in the Capital City, they shouldn’t even think about seeking revenge for his son. As for Yao Xing and Yang Xiufang, you tell them too. If I find out they’re trying to do anything harmful to Xiao Ye, don’t blame me for not considering our blood relationship.”

Hou Xiangguo commanded sternly.

”Father, it can’t be that serious, can it? With Jingwen injured like this, it’s inevitable that my second brother and sister-in-law would feel some resentment,” Hou Yaochen couldn’t help saying.

”Your second brother is narrow-minded and extremely scheming. If we don’t warn him, he might do something in secret, and if that angers Xiao Ye, even I won’t be able to save him,” Hou Xiangguo snorted coldly.

In a corridor within the Hou Family estate, Ye Luo and Hou Yaoyue walked shoulder to shoulder, wafts of gentle fragrance filling Ye Luo’s nostrils.

”Mr. Ye, so young yet already surrounded by so many beauties, you really do have an abundance of romantic luck!”

Hou Yaoyue glanced at Ye Luo and said with a smile.

”Thank you for the compliment,” Ye Luo replied with an unabashed nod, and then he added, ”By the way, Miss Hou, how come your husband hasn’t made an appearance?”

Hou Yaoyue’s expression changed slightly, and with a sigh, she said, ”My husband was unlucky. He passed away a few years ago due to liver cancer.”

”Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to bring up a painful subject,” Ye Luo said somewhat embarrassed.

”It’s okay. It’s all in the past now. I’ve moved on.”

Hou Yaoyue shook her head and led Ye Luo into the room where the girl Die Wu was staying and walked in.

Hou Jingwu sat by the bedside, tightly holding Die Wu’s hand and murmuring to himself, his words unclear.

”Jing Wu is also a pitiful child. He’s in love with a woman who got injured because of him. Now she lies comatose on a bed like a vegetative person, and he’s powerless to help. It’s because of this pain and guilt that has accumulated in his heart that he resorts to drowning his sorrows in alcohol every day, trying to forget these things, to ease his heart a bit,” Hou Yaoyue said somberly, her face full of emotion.

Ye Luo’s gaze flickered, and he walked over to Hou Jingwu’s side, glancing at the woman on the bed.

”Do you want to wake the woman you love from her coma?” Ye Luo suddenly asked.

Hou Jingwu looked stunned, and even Hou Yaoyue, standing behind, showed a surprised expression as she looked at Ye Luo.

”I think about waking Die Wu up every moment, but I just don’t have the power,” said Hou Jingwu, his hands tightly gripping Die Wu’s, his somewhat weathered eyes staring at her with deep affection.

”Miss Die Wu has fallen into a coma because her soul was injured. As long as we find an elixir that can heal the injury of the soul, it’s possible to wake her,” Ye Luo said, his eyes twinkling.

”I’m of course aware of that, but elixirs are scarce to begin with, not to mention those that can heal the soul. Even if there are any, they’re in the hands of the super first-rate powers, treasured like jewels. How could any be given to Die Wu to consume?” Hou Jingwu said with self-mockery.

”What if I had such an elixir?” Ye Luo asked again.

(Regarding the issue with the Chapter mismatch, it was addressed once in the top comment of the book review section, and I’ll explain it here again for everyone. The solution is just one step: remove the book from your shelf, add it again, and clear your phone cache. That’s all it takes.)
