Chapter 558: Chapter 220: Peregrine Falcon, Hunting, Body Refining

Before reaching full adulthood, a Peregrine Falcon cannot engage in prolonged flight.

However, Xu Ran, connected to the soul of the Peregrine Falcon, learned that because it was hatched by Innate Qi, it doesn’t have to wait until full maturity to fly; even as a subadult, it only requires some practice.

This was their first month of practice.

The Peregrine Falcon stood in the middle of the courtyard, full of spirit.

”Considering yesterday’s practice, it won’t be long until you can fly.”

Hearing Xu Ran’s words, the Peregrine Falcon started hopping around the courtyard, but in the end, it was just a two-month-old fledgling.

Soon, the Peregrine Falcon calmed down, its pure white wings slowly unfolding, resembling two sharp blades.

Then, the sound of ”hoo-hoo-hoo” wings flapping could be heard, as the Peregrine Falcon’s wings began to move, an invisible airflow lifted it, as if trying to support it.

Seeing this, Xu Ran spoke out, ”That’s it, maintain balance and ascend slowly!”

As soon as the words were spoken, the Peregrine Falcon’s feet gradually left the ground, its wings flapping faster, and its height gradually increased, soon reaching ten meters above the ground.

Just as success seemed within grasp, suddenly, the Peregrine Falcon’s wing movements became erratic, and in the blink of an eye, it dropped from ten meters high.

Fortunately, Lian Ji had placed a thick pad on the ground, so even a fall from ten meters posed no problem.

”What a pity!” Xu Ran sighed softly, ”But! Compared to before, progress is substantial, and it won’t be long before you can fly!” Xu Ran continued.

The Peregrine Falcon stood up from the pad, and just as Xu Ran thought it would rest, the sound of wings flapping started once more.

Seeing this, Xu Ran said, ”Take a rest, there’s no rush!”

The Peregrine Falcon didn’t heed Xu Ran’s advice and resolutely continued flapping its wings.

Seeing this, Xu Ran said, ”In that case, I’ll accompany you. I believe that this time, you will succeed.”

After the words, the Peregrine Falcon’s wing flapping became faster, even quicker than before, and the airflow gathering around it was stronger than any previous time. Its jet-black eyes glowed with unprecedented determination.

”Yes! Start ascending, keep steady!”

As Xu Ran’s voice resonated, the Peregrine Falcon began to gradually lift off from the ground, quickly returning to its previous height.

Afterward, instead of the anticipated fall, the Peregrine Falcon abruptly changed direction and flew towards the Great Mountain, a pure white figure soaring rapidly across the sky.

Seeing this, Xu Ran laughed.

Daily persistent practice finally led to freedom in the skies.

This was a good outcome for both Xu Ran and the Peregrine Falcon.

Upon hearing the commotion outside, Xu Binghu and Lian Ji stepped out of the room.

As they emerged, they saw a pure white figure disappearing into the horizon, and with no Peregrine Falcon in sight in the courtyard, they knew what had happened.

”It flew?” Xu Binghu approached Xu Ran and asked.

Xu Ran nodded, ”Yes, it flew to the Great Mountain!”

”The Great Mountain?” Xu Binghu was puzzled, ”Will it not come back?”

Initially, Xu Binghu had found it in the Great Mountain, so there was a chance it wouldn’t return once it entered again.

Xu Ran smiled and said, ”It will come back, for sure.”

Xu Ran understood well the significant impact that Innate Qi, the morning clouds, and moonlight resources had on it.

Sure enough.

In less than a quarter of an hour, a long cry came from afar.

Upon hearing this familiar sound, Xu Binghu and Lian Ji exclaimed in unison, ”It’s the Peregrine Falcon!”

Xu Ran calmly gazed at the sky.

From the Great Mountain, a pure white figure leapt out, carrying something beneath it, moving too swiftly to discern.

When the Peregrine Falcon returned to the courtyard, only then did the three see clearly that it was a young deer.

Xu Binghu stepped forward to examine the young deer closely.

There was a long claw mark on its neck, a lethal wound, indistinguishable from the Peregrine Falcon’s claws.

Instantly, Xu Binghu exclaimed, ”In just two months, this Peregrine Falcon has already been able to kill a young deer with a single blow. Such hunting prowess is truly terrifying; no wonder it’s said the Peregrine Falcon is a hunter’s best ally!”

It had only been two months.

Such a surprise was something they had never expected.

”To capture such large prey within two months is indeed extraordinary!” Xu Ran also exclaimed with admiration.

Of course, Xu Ran pondered.

The Peregrine Falcon had just learned to fly, yet it could catch a fawn of similar size—wouldn’t it easily catch a Poisonous Snake in time? Would it even be afraid to face the ’Poisonous Snake Village Massacre’?

The sun hung high in the sky.

In the Xu Family’s small courtyard, there was a makeshift barbecue stand, where the family of three was gathered without raw meat present.

With some anticipation, Xu Binghu looked towards the azure skies, saying, ”By now, the Peregrine Falcon should be back, right?”

Just after speaking, a crane-like cry echoed from within the Great Mountain, and soon a raptor with hints of blue amidst its white plumage descended from the sky, carrying a fully grown young deer in its steel-like talons.

It was indeed the Peregrine Falcon Xu Ran had hatched.

The Peregrine Falcon placed the young deer in front of Xu Binghu, its black eyes full of anticipation.

Xu Binghu accepted the young deer, understanding the Peregrine Falcon’s intention.

”Since you’ve bled the young deer, the subsequent processing will be much easier.”

With that, he carried the young deer towards the kitchen, followed closely by Lian Ji.
