The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 821: Chapter 324: The Phoenix Man’s Rebirth (Part 8)_3

This era is really good, neighbors are just like family.

Unlike later times, when you could live door to door for several years and still not know who your neighbor is!

After being reborn, He Jingtian had many feelings, and what touched him the most was the relationships between people of this era.

Simple and kind, intimate and natural.

It was knowing that this era had human warmth, that He Jingtian had the confidence to rent a place with Mad Mother.

Otherwise, he could only send his real mother to the Mental Health Center.

”Mom, I’m going to class now, you stay home well.”

After being busy for a few days, He Jingtian finally settled down at the faculty dormitory and returned to class.

Before he left, he carefully told his real mother, ”Don’t touch the gas, and don’t go out casually. If there’s any trouble, just call out, Mrs. Ma is at home across the door.”

”You’ve met Mrs. Ma, I even specially introduced you, do you remember?”

Mrs. He lowered her head, picking at her fingers, she wanted to grab her son’s coat, but she feared delaying him for school.

When she heard her son mention Mrs. Ma, and asked if she ”remembered”, Mrs. He quickly raised her head, glanced at the door, nodded hard, and softly murmured two words, ”I remember.”

A good person, her mind might not work well, but she could keenly sense good and evil in people.

The plump lady next door, though loud, startled Mrs. He at first sight, but soon, she felt the lady’s kindness.

”Good, as long as you remember! If you have anything, just call Mrs. Ma!”

He Jingtian patiently instructed repeatedly.

”...Okay!” Mrs. He nodded gently.

Actually, she thought, once her son left, she would close the door, she wouldn’t run out, nor let anyone in.

Although this place was unfamiliar, it inexplicably gave her a sense of security.

Because here, it’s only her and her son, no one would scold her, nor would anyone hit her.

She just needed to obey, and her son would always be there for her.

This feeling, it was so good.

Mrs. He felt a relaxation and security she never had before!

Her son was going out, Mrs. He couldn’t stop him, so she just closed the door tight, stayed well by herself, cleaned, cooked, and waited for her son’s return!

Mrs. Ma across the way was nice, yet Mrs. He was used to being wary of everything, she dared not trust anyone except her son.

”Oh, right, I bought a piece of fabric, Mom, if you feel bored at home, you can help me make a pair of pants.”

”Also, you can learn to knit a sweater, Mrs. Ma across the door knows how to knit, you can learn from her. Other classmates have sweaters made by their moms, I want one too!”

Lately, He Jingtian almost spent every day with his real mother.

He found that while his real mother was busy with chores, she seemed quite normal.

On the contrary, when left alone doing nothing, she seemed jumpy and nervous.

So, it’s better to find something for her to do.

Actually, with economic development, people were used to buying ready-made clothes, except rural areas or some economically disadvantaged townships, city folks rarely needed to make their own clothes anymore.

Young people like He Jingtian preferred the fashionable and colorful ready-made clothes from department stores or free markets.

Previously, He Jingtian seemed not to feel inferior because of his rural roots, but apart from the first year in college wearing clothes and shoes made at home.

Since sophomore year, He Jingtian began wearing jeans and sneakers bought like the other city students!

What he’s saying now about having his real mother make clothes was more about finding something for her to do, not necessarily wanting to wear those rustic clothes.

But Mrs. He took it seriously, quickly raised her head, her eyes shining brightly, and said, ”Alright! Mom will make you pants. Also, I’ll learn to knit sweaters from Mrs. Ma!”

Deep down, Mrs. He was still afraid to meet people, but for her son’s sake, she was willing to take that step.

Especially when her son mentioned ”other classmates have it, I want it too,” which really hit Mrs. He’s heart.

Yes, other kids have it, my son should have it too!

Recently life had been comfortable, Mrs. He kept taking her medication, perhaps she didn’t even notice, her gaze was becoming clearer.

More and more images flashed in her mind.

After He Jingtian left, Mrs. He cut fabric, sewed pants, busy for most of the day.

When He Jingtian came back at noon, he brought lunch from the cafeteria, and mother and son ate together. Then He Jingtian went to the study to translate the manuscript he got from the publisher, while Mrs. He continued cutting fabric.

The small rented house, however, held intoxicating warmth and tranquility...
