My Silly, Sweet Wife

4:55 PM.

Ye Guichen appeared punctually at the entrance of Haotian Model Company, holding a bunch of dogtail grass in his hand, which he got from somewhere.

Haotian Model Company wasn’t very big, only occupying two floors of this building.

As he approached the elevator, many people glanced at Ye Guichen.

Because there was a modeling company here, it was quite common to see young men bringing flowers to confess their love. The employees working here were used to such scenes. However, no one expected that someone would bring dogtail grass to confess.

Ye Guichen stood by the elevator as if no one was around, quietly waiting for it.

Since Chen Ziran had permitted him to come, Ye Guichen naturally had to show a bit of enthusiasm.

Of course, Ye Guichen couldn’t possibly bring roses here; otherwise, it would surely make Chen Ziran extremely jealous.

Dogtail grass also represented Ye Guichen’s intentions.

Even if Mi Lan wagged her tail at me, she could only be my little puppy.

Of course, Ye Guichen didn’t dare to say this out loud, otherwise, he’d surely be beaten to death by Chen Ziran and Mi Lan teaming up.

”Ding...”

The elevator doors opened, and just as Ye Guichen was about to step in, someone suddenly pushed him from behind.

”Move aside!”

A burly man pushed Ye Guichen to the side, then stood by the elevator door, blocking others from entering.

Then, a chubby guy with an obnoxious look walked into the elevator.

Ye Guichen was a bit displeased but didn’t want to confront them. Just as he was about to enter the elevator, the burly man shot him a fierce glare and warned, ”You take the next one.”

”How rude.”

”What’s the big deal? Do they think they have an exclusive elevator?”

”Shh, keep your voice down. That chubby guy seems to be the younger brother of the owner of Haotian Model. He’s a troublemaker; better not provoke him.”

”Alright, alright. Let’s take the next one.”

Many people who had initially wanted to squeeze into the elevator stepped back timidly.

Ye Guichen was also annoyed.

However, he thought it beneath his dignity to argue with such people.

Since Mi Lan asked him to pick her up, using him as a shield, Ye Guichen naturally had to behave gentlemanly.

Otherwise, if Mi Lan told Chen Ziran about him flirting with French waitress, he might have to kneel on the washboard when he got home.

Ye Guichen took a couple of steps back without saying a word.

Yu Jieyuan, who was inside the elevator, snorted and looked at Ye Guichen disdainfully.

Finally arriving at Haotian Model Company, Ye Guichen was about to ask where Mi Lan was, but he heard a noisy argument not far away.

”Mi Lan, Young Master Yu is here, hurry and open the door.”

”Young Master Yu is in a hurry, don’t make trouble.”

Ye Guichen looked over and saw a crowd gathered around an office.

Standing outside the office were several people, including the chubby guy and his bodyguard who had bullied their way onto the elevator.

Yu Jieyuan stood at the door, looking displeased. Seeing Jiang Yan calling out several times with no response, he became angry, ”Damn it, Mi Lan, you think the rules don’t apply to you? I’ll count to three. If you don’t open the door, I’ll have my guy kick it down, and then I won’t be so polite.”

Mi Lan’s voice came from inside, ”Young Master Yu, even if you kick the door down, I’m still not coming out.”

”Bitch, you think you can mess with me?” Yu Jieyuan signaled to his bodyguard, ”What are you waiting for? Kick the door down and drag her out!”

The bodyguard kicked the door fiercely, and in a few kicks, the door was down. At the same time, Mi Lan’s shrill voice came from inside, ”No, don’t come in! Don’t come in!”

Mi Lan clutched a fruit knife in her hands, staring at the intruders in fear.

Clearly, she was terrified to the extreme.

These people were simply forcing her into a corner.

Standing at the door, Jiang Yan and Qi Nuan did nothing to stop this, instead watching as if it were a show.

Wu Fang was nowhere to be seen and was not present.

Ye Guichen frowned, not expecting Mi Lan to be in such trouble.

He didn’t hesitate any longer. In a few steps, he got close and kicked the bodyguard in the lower back.

The bodyguard, caught off guard, fell to the ground.

Ye Guichen stepped over the bodyguard and walked into the office.

Mi Lan, upon seeing Ye Guichen, was both surprised and happy. She threw the fruit knife away and rushed into his arms, sobbing softly.

”Damn it, where did this brat come from!”

Ye Guichen’s speed was so quick that Yu Jieyuan and the others didn’t react in time.

Seeing Mi Lan in Ye Guichen’s arms, Yu Jieyuan was furious. Pointing at Ye Guichen, he shouted, ”Kid, if you know what’s good for you, get lost and don’t interfere with my business!”

Jiang Yan frowned.

She had heard that Mi Lan might have a boyfriend but had never seen him. Was this man Mi Lan’s boyfriend?

Ye Guichen gently patted Mi Lan’s shoulder without saying a word. After pushing her aside, he turned to face the door, ”What? Someone dares to bully my girlfriend?”

As Ye Guichen turned around, Yu Jieyuan immediately recognized him.

”It’s you?” Yu Jieyuan laughed.

From the elevator incident where Ye Guichen had kept quiet, Yu Jieyuan assumed he was a coward. Little did he expect him to fight back now?

”Haha, holding a bunch of dogtail grass, you’re quite the character!” Yu Jieyuan laughed, ”Kid, I don’t care who you are, or what your relationship with Mi Lan is. Tonight, she has to have dinner with me. Whether you agree or not, if you don’t want trouble, back off, and I won’t hold it against you for hitting my bodyguard.”

Yu Jieyuan was extremely arrogant.

In his eyes, Ye Guichen was just another handsome but penniless guy.

Otherwise, what kind of rich guy would bring dogtail grass, clearly picked from a roadside weed patch?

Mi Lan, now a bit calmer, feared that Ye Guichen might get involved. She quickly wiped her tears and stepped out of Ye Guichen’s embrace, ”Ye Guichen, this has nothing to do with you. It’s no big deal; I’m just going to have dinner.”

Lowering her voice so only Ye Guichen could hear, she whispered, ”Besides, I’m not really anyone to you. There’s no need to get into trouble.”

Ye Guichen chuckled, giving Mi Lan a meaningful glance, ”I’ve seen you naked. If I let someone bully you, am I still a man?”

Mi Lan was stunned.

You jerk, it’s really you?

But Ye Guichen’s remark caused Yu Jieyuan, Jiang Yan, and even Qi Nuan to freeze.

”Damn, pretending to be virtuous but already not a virgin.”

”Always acting so high and mighty, just a used shoe.”

”Young Master Yu, you heard it. Mi Lan was just pretending.” Qi Nuan quickly threw in some fuel.

Yu Jieyuan’s face turned sullen.

His interest in Mi Lan was largely due to her being a virgin, as the esteemed guest tonight favored virgins.

Now, Mi Lan being ”seen” implied she had been with someone.

”Bitch, you were putting on an act this whole time!” Feeling deceived, Yu Jieyuan marched up to Ye Guichen, gritting his teeth, ”Kid, I’ll give you a chance, hand over Mi Lan obediently, then crawl out like a dog, or else don’t blame me for being rough.”
