My Silly, Sweet Wife

”Young Master Yu, rest assured. Sister Yan and I will keep an eye out for you and definitely won’t let Mi Lan get away.” Qi Nuan quickly nodded in agreement, secretly feeling delighted and cursing inwardly: ”Mi Lan, Mi Lan, you think you’re tough, huh? If you offend Young Master Yu today, let’s see how you get along in the future.”

Fatty left angrily.

Jiang Yan glanced at Qi Nuan and then walked into Mi Lan’s office.

Mi Lan was curled up on the sofa, hugging her arms with a look of grievance.

Although she was a model, she had always maintained her integrity and wouldn’t wear any revealing clothes outside of some advertisements.

Mi Lan also knew that besides their primary job, other models in the company would take on some side gigs, engaging in PR activities and the like.

Mi Lan had always rejected such behavior, so she always made excuses whenever anyone approached her.

She didn’t expect Fatty Yu to personally come to her door today and even threaten her.

Regarding this Fatty Yu, Mi Lan naturally knew who he was.

According to Mi Lan, Fatty Yu’s real name is Yu Jieyuan, and he is Yu Jingxue’s younger brother. Yu Jingxue, besides being the boss of Haotian Model Company, also has another identity - she is the woman of Haotian Culture’s chairman, Zhou Weijun.

That Zhou Weijun is a prominent figure, a local tyrant whose mere stomping could shake the entire Yun City. How could Mi Lan dare offend him?

Upon hearing the door open, Mi Lan turned her head to see Jiang Yan entering and turned away without saying a word.

Jiang Yan composed herself and said amiably, ”Mi Lan, you know who Young Master Yu is. He’s our boss’s biological brother. If you offend him, how will you get by in the future? Besides, it’s just a dinner out, is it worth it?”

Mi Lan snorted, ”Sister Yan, I already have plans tonight. If you want to go, you go.”

Jiang Yan’s face immediately darkened, ”Mi Lan, I’m doing this for your good. Don’t play hard to get!”

Mi Lan bit her lip and kept silent.

Jiang Yan continued to threaten, ”Mi Lan, you should understand your position. If you offend Young Master Yu today, don’t even think about staying in Haotian, let alone Yun City. Think it over carefully.”

After speaking, she walked over to the wardrobe, took out a set of clothes, and threw them in front of Mi Lan, ”Dress up pretty tonight. If you please Young Master Yu, you’ll still be our top model.”

Mi Lan looked down at the clothes, her face turning pale.

She suddenly grabbed the clothes and threw them at Jiang Yan, who was walking towards the door, ”I’m not going. I’m absolutely not going tonight!”

The clothes fluttered open, revealing a semi-transparent short skirt, exposing the shoulders and barely covering the navel.

Jiang Yan had just reached the door and was brushed by the clothes, pausing only briefly before leaving, shutting the door behind her, her face showing a trace of amusement, ”Mi Lan, you asked for this. Don’t blame me for being rude.”

She instructed Qi Nuan waiting outside, ”Don’t do anything else today. Keep an eye on her for me, even when she goes to the bathroom. Hmph, trying to fight with me? I’m not backing down today. If she dares to barge out, call security.”

”Understood, Sister Yan. Rest assured,” Qi Nuan quickly nodded.

Inside, Mi Lan’s eyes reddened as she buried her head in her knees, striving to stifle her tears.

After a while, her phone rang.

Mi Lan picked it up and saw it was her best friend, Chen Ziran.

Quickly composing herself, Mi Lan forced a smile, ”Ranran?”

Chen Ziran said, ”Lanlan, I have to work overtime tonight and can’t accompany you to the concert. I’ll let Ye Guichen go with you. Just contact him directly.”

”Huh?” Mi Lan was stunned, ”You’re trusting your boyfriend with me, not afraid I’ll snatch him away?”

”Pff, if you have the skill, go ahead.” Chen Ziran teased, ”Besides, it would be better if you took him than another woman.”

”Haha, Ranran, you’re the only one who treats Ye Guichen like a treasure. I wouldn’t be interested.” Mi Lan said insincerely.

Hanging up the phone, Mi Lan’s mood improved slightly. After hesitating for a while, she still dialed Ye Guichen’s number.

”Beep...”

It was picked up after just one ring, and Ye Guichen’s voice came through, ”What’s up? You really trying to snatch your best friend’s boyfriend? Let me tell you, I’m genuinely devoted to Ranran. No matter how much you tempt me, I won’t marry you.”

Upon hearing this, Mi Lan felt a inexplicable pang in her heart, and after a moment of silence, she softly said, ”Can you come to the company to pick me up tonight?”

Ye Guichen noticed Mi Lan’s tone seemed off and quickly asked, ”What’s wrong? Are you okay?”

”It’s nothing. Just tell me whether you’re coming or not.” Mi Lan forced a smile, ”Or are you too scared to come?”

Ye Guichen laughed, ”Who’s afraid of who? I won’t lose out anyway. Give me the address, I’ll be there at five sharp.”

”Alright.” After hanging up, Mi Lan inexplicably felt a warm sensation, sweet and comforting.
