After I Died, the Scumbag Went Mad

Chapter 257: Chapter 256: Sebastian Lancaster, Don’t Touch Me for a Year

Startled, I clapped a hand over my mouth. I do have some sense of shame, after all.

I dug my nails into the back of Asher’s hand, leaving three bloody scratches...

Asher just chuckled, hissing as he took a sharp breath, and hugged me even tighter.

”Get off...” ’Right then, I really wasn’t in the mood to think about anything else. My heart was pounding, and I was furious with embarrassment.’

’Asher was, admittedly, very good at changing the subject.’

’I knew he was avoiding my question.’

”Cece... we’re not done yet.” Asher wasn’t about to let me off the hook.

I snapped. In my flustered rage, I bit down on his neck, pummeling him with my fists, all the while worried I might actually hurt him.

’He probably thought this was some kind of game, the bastard, and just kept going...’

”Sebastian Lancaster, you’re so dead,” I threatened, but he deliberately pushed harder, and my voice cracked...

I angrily bit him again, not daring to make too much noise.

’All I could do was endure it...’

...

I have no idea how much time passed before that bastard Sebastian Lancaster finally let me go.

My legs were trembling... I had to lean against the wall for a moment to steady myself, then I shot him a vicious glare.

The bastard just pulled me in for another kiss.

I gritted my teeth and hissed in a low voice, ”From now on, don’t touch me for a year.”

”...” Asher looked aggrieved.

I ignored him, pushed him away, got dressed, and headed for the door.

Asher trailed behind me, looking all pitiful, as if he wasn’t the one who had been so relentlessly refusing to stop just moments ago. ”Honey, so cold and distant now that you’ve got your clothes on.”

I shot him a glare over my shoulder. Just as I walked into the living room, I saw Felix Foster sitting bolt upright, staring in our direction with a resentful look.

I cleared my throat, trying to explain. ”The shower in the bathroom was broken... We were just fixing it.”

Felix Foster glared at Asher. ”Shameless.”

”Oh, you’ve got some nerve. What are you doing here in the middle of the day instead of being at school?” Asher retorted, casually pouring me a glass of water.

I ignored him, but I was genuinely thirsty, so I took the glass and had a sip.

”Something’s happened to Claire Lawson,” Felix Foster said grimly.

Asher’s hand, which had been peeling fruit for me, froze. He looked up at Felix Foster. ”Be more specific.”

”The police abroad found Claire Lawson’s body at a human trafficking den. She knew the police were after her, so she deliberately stirred up a controversy online, then used herself as bait. She let the organization’s people find her and take her to the den. Before she died, she sent her location to the police. The den has been busted, and sixteen gifted youths were rescued. Six of them are foreign nationals, and the other ten have already been brought back to the country. They’ll probably be investigated further.”

Felix Foster looked at Asher and continued, ”This den was a front for illegal organ transplants. The rich would order a cloned test subject with matching genes in advance. Once the subject matured, they would perform the organ transplant to minimize the rejection reaction.”

’So, they were raising these gifted individuals in captivity, cultivating them like a crop to be harvested over and over. They forced them to work for them, all to keep their research costs to a minimum.’

’After all, using internationally renowned scientists for this kind of research would not only expose their goals but also attract unwanted attention from all sides. So, rather than using famous scientists, it was better to cultivate their own talent, creating an entire industrial chain from source to final product.’

’I have to admit, the person behind the organization is a twisted business genius.’

”Claire Lawson was subjected to immense torture before she died. The organization has some very effective methods. Zeke Shaw and Lucas Grant are back. At the den, they found a video of Claire being tortured. It was beyond the limits of human endurance, but... she never revealed a single secret about the ’Rebels’ before she died.”

Felix Foster took a deep breath, clearly in awe that a woman—especially one who had endured long-term domestic abuse—could have such strength.

”The last thing she said was: ’One day, light will destroy all darkness.’”

’Felix Foster must have just come from seeing Lucas Grant.’

’Peach’s body is missing. Lucas Grant and Zeke Shaw searched for a long time over there but couldn’t find it. Claire Lawson must have been the one who took it, but now that she’s dead too, no one knows where she brought Peach’s body.’

”Claire Lawson was a Rebel. The organization was bound to eliminate her anyway. She deliberately let them take her so the police could find that den and rescue those trafficked ’geniuses,’” I said quietly, placing my cup on the table. ”By doing this, she tore a hole in the organization’s defenses.”

’The Genetics Organization has created an entire supply chain for its genetic crimes, from human trafficking to human experimentation, gene cloning, a global organ supply, surrogate... pregnancies, and even providing things like stem cells and hemoglobin... an illegal supply chain for the beauty and anti-aging industries.’

’Tens of thousands of people go missing across the globe every day. These missing people are like lambs to the slaughter, eventually ’served up’ as a feast for those at the top of the pyramid.’

’They ’suck’ human blood, ’gnaw’ on human bones, and trample all over human lives and rights.’

’Finally, a group of people emerged to fight back against the darkness, to resist the organization. This group gathered together and, starting with a case of ’serial murders,’ created this grand chess game.’

’To enter the game yourself is to walk into a dead end.’

’Back at the abandoned building, Blake Young said the same thing.’

’Every member of The Resistance is both a victim and a murderer. From the moment they joined, their fate was sealed.’

’Claire Lawson was no different.’

’She knew she had committed crimes punishable by death and would die sooner or later. So she threw herself into the fray, using her own frail body to rip off a corner of the Genetics Organization’s massive cover-up, tearing open the curtain that concealed the darkness.’

”The police will investigate further. It’ll be a long process, but with these rescued ’geniuses,’ they’re sure to find clues quickly and continue the pursuit,” Felix Foster said with a shrug. ”So, we should get back to our normal lives. I need to focus on my college entrance exams, and you two should just live your lives. We’ll leave the rest to the police.”

’Felix Foster meant that we’d already done enough. Now, it was up to the police to investigate.’

”When the darkness is too thick, the sunlight can’t get through,” I murmured, glancing at Asher.

’It might seem like the storm clouds have parted, but in reality, getting a truly clear sky was going to be next to impossible.’

”Sir, Killian Lancaster now holds Master Lancaster’s 15% stake and has joined the Lancaster Group’s board of directors. And... he’s established his own company in Meridia, Apex Solar. Its main focuses are cultural media, business management, and cultural tourism... It covers a wide range of fields, secured investment in record time, and its subsidiaries are expanding rapidly. Its growth momentum is fierce.”

Owen Foster walked in from outside, reporting Killian Lancaster’s movements to Asher.

I picked up my water glass, lost in thought.

’Killian Lancaster is a very smart man. He knows how to monetize his intelligence and abilities. He’s showing off his power to someone.’

’Now he has tangible assets. Although his new ventures can’t compete with established enterprises like the Fletcher Family, the future is promising. This will still cause his net worth to double and then some.’

”Everyone on the outside is treating you like a joke. They think you sold off the Lancaster Group and got nothing from the Astraeus Group in return.” Felix Foster raised an eyebrow, smirking at Asher. ”They’re calling you a fool.”

”It’s better that he sold it,” I answered instinctively, squeezing Asher’s hand tightly.

’I was starting... to become selfish. I didn’t want him to be a titan of capital, standing at the top of the food chain.’

’This so-called game where you put yourself on the line is a dead end. I don’t want Asher getting dragged into it.’

”Master Lancaster is here.” In the courtyard, a mute man gestured frantically. Owen Foster glanced over, then looked back at Asher.

’Here we go again. Master Lancaster is back, bringing that pack of Lancaster family bloodsuckers with him.’
